I mean look how she turned her back on one of her career-best albums-1983's glorious 1 of a kind "Catch As Catch Can" trailblazer & that actually (just about it feels) came out officially. My reference to 5 albums is simple: If you add up all the B-side/non-album singles she did during the 90s (sadly having to do without any that accompanied the 1998 locked up album) you get 12 of them (even if the only way to have 1 of them is to have someone else than Kim singing it-a young girl from Byker Grove, but is IS a Kim Wilde demo from 1988 previously unused). "Love Is" is definitely the strongest set of songs out of there, with the 2 either side of it rather disappointing being full of 90s soul/easy MOR lacking all the 'Sparks' (so to speak & literally too), excitement, musical & lyrical variety of the 80s as the 90s downturned for the worst across the music landscape. Nonetheless the 90s Unalbumed stuff is the only place we find the stunning like of 'Virtual World', beautiful 'Birthday Song' & electric 'Never Felt So Alive' & 'Time To Live Your Life' (another dumbly kept-on-shelf-song) as albums were never meant to catch them in the 90s? Too good for them as many of these recordings hint at a sound odds with her 90s albums.

I agree, I really love the early albums (with "select" as my fav) but "love is" is such a good album, I think I would put it as number two :)
