Well appointed - gotta love them farkles. But, here's my question: Can the horn withstand a dunking? A similar product I installed drowned after crossing a river - now it just kinda quacks.
It depends on what you consider a dunking. The horn itself can get wet. The issue is that if the diaphragm fills with water the horn won't "honk" properly. On our Africa Twin, the horn is relatively high up in the chassis and positioned so that water has a quick way out of the trumpet assembly. A stream crossing should be fine. Dropping it in the middle of the stream--and, yes, we've all done that--is another matter.

Yes, all you need from your bike is the power and ground connections directly to the battery and potentially trigger wires depending on what accessories you plan to run through the PDM. You will need a windows compatible PC for programming the device.
I noticed you have the driving lights on the D4s on the bottom, and the fog light config on the top. I installed mine with the fog filter on the bottom. Is there a reason to flip them like this? Also, since I doubt I will ever ride in the rain/fog, what impact if any will I notice if I use the other filter? The one w 4 similar driving lights?
The orientation of the split lenses on the D4 isn't important; they work the same with the floods on the bottom and the spots on the top as they do the other way around. Switching to the all-spot filter will project more light out ahead of the bike at the expense of filling in the lighting to the sides. There are benefits to seeing a blanket of light close to the bike even in non-rainy conditions. You're more likely to see stuff to the side of the road. However, we encourage you to swap out for the all-spot optics and see how you like them.
Great, and I do like them this way, and understand having the half/half filter w the benefits they offer. I did notice you have amber filters on your e-site too. May look into those down the road but again, I am happy w the functionality w the set up I have now.

I have a 1990 Africa Twin. Can I run the PDM60 on my antiquated electrics system?

Taller, wider, heavier..... sometimes a bit more fuel capacity isn't worth it.
