    Ibis develops a bike specifically for XC, even named it after the genre. Pinkbike "Let's add it to our DC test!!!"

    I've been with two ibises before, I think it is in their bikes characteristics that it really climbs well and it's like it naturally pushes you forward when you go over bump going up.

    I've been riding and racing my Exie since February. Replaced my Ripley V2 with this bike. The Exie climbs and shreds at race pace. Not as forgiving on downhills but capable. The step cast fork is lightweight but has a narrow crown. That affects handling IMO.

    Not sure why these XC bikes don't come equipped with 2x dropper style levers, it would fix the ergo/cockpit problems when a lockout lever is also present. Additionally.. while on the topic.. 2x dropper levers can be improved a lot. Most of them are junk 🙂

    • @Strenki-real

      I prefer proper dropper post lever by default, it is so much more often used compared to suspension lockout. I have 2x dropper remote on my HT (because it is still "old" 2x drivetrain bike) and it is terrible. In all my future bikes will have PWN The Loam lever, period. Damn the 2by dropper remotes!

Who at Ibis is smoking crack in their marketing department? My god what a fucking rip off. Just because it's "American made" they have the audacity to slap that price tag on it with those components? • @Strenki-real
      @Strenki-real 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dude, bikes are not only about the price and the components (which you can always change/upgrade or buy frame only as me) No matter what components will come with Oiz, it will 100% not ride so good as the Exie. To me is more important the frame, geometry and the ride quality than components and value. Btw my neighbor had Oiz frame replaced after not many km ridden (he rides not so much as me). On stage race Trilogy 2021, 2 Oiz frames in service booth with broken privot linkges and without propietary screw you have no chance to fix it. No thanks, take your Oiz I will take my Exie. PS - if value would be important to me, I would pick Canyon Lux which is better kit for the price compared to Oiz

      @@Strenki-real ok so what about a Santa Cruz blur CC XO1 for $7.5K vs an Exie for $10.4K same components lighter frame? Or a megamo? Or a Scott? Or even an epic evo? The price tag on this isn’t going to fly with 99% of riders. Sucks your friend has had a bad experience with their Oiz but I’ve put 2300KM on mine in the past 4.5 months and have had 0 issues. I wouldn’t get a canyon I’d rather pay a little more for a higher quality frame made in Spain vs China when picking a mtb. Road/gravel sure cheap Chinese carbon is the way to go.

      @@laxplaysu91 Is like complaining, that Porche is very expensive and your BMW wasn't so pricey. Yes, Ibis is premium brand, their frames and carbon quality is one of the best on the market. Their build kits are super expensive compared to the competition. That is why I decided with frame only and will build it with kit specific exactly to my taste and ignore their expensive kit sets. To you it seems the components and the price is more important. To me the quality of the frame and how it rides. DW-link is like a drug, you taste it once and never look back.
