This guide will show you how to get all 42 gems in Crash Bandicoot 2; both clear and colored gems. It will show all death routes, secret exits, secret warps, and boxes. The guide is arranged by the order in which you can earn the gems, and not the order of the levels since many levels must be revisited after earning colored gems. In order to earn a gem, you must smash all the boxes in a level. Death Routes must be reached without dying in order to be attempted. Secret Exits are special ways to end a level and will result in achievements/trophies for them. This guide does not show relics and a few missable achievements or trophies. The levels are as follows.

I just Got N sane trilogy in Christmas present. (24th evening) and i have already completed crash 1. (103%) i am right now 100% in crash 2. Thank you!

Just a quick note that in 'Piston it Away' if you make it to the death route you should enter it & die. When you come back to life you can then go past the entrance to the death route & continue to get the boxes. If you do it this way you can die even if your past the entrance & be able to go back to the death route & its still open for you to do. I think this works on other levels as well! If you tell people this it will make this level much easier!!

Great guide, i wouldnt have got half of the gems without your help, i just want to add that you can get over the blue gun in piston it away, if you kill the enemy and dont make it over. if you do a couch spin jump, you get enough height to get over and you can also use the same jump to clear the nitro boxes in the bonus part of the level
I've been watching you're videos since probably 2010 whenever I can't figure out how to get an achievement and search it I see you did a video on it and click yours first, everyone else always shows you how they don't really tell you how.

At 1:50:30ish you said you only have one chance at this jump but it's actually pretty easy with a spinning slide jump, got it first try after killing the dude.

Does anybody know, do you have to always start a new game or if I already beat the game from just getting all purple gems, could I stay in that save file and go back for all the gems and still get the different ending and achievements and everything?
for console if bee live farming doesnt work replay the first three levels save reload and do them again

I cant do the jump boxes on air crash to get to snow go in in tears this is so agervating
Do you have to get all the gems to reach the next level? I’ve got all the Crystals and defeated ripper roo but I’m still on the first warp room
Just step on the platform in the middle on the warp room and press LB and it should take you up to another warp room.
Basically on my game it says the one you're on its saying are holograms are transparent won't let me go on them not sure
For piston it away. Where you say if you kill the guy you cant make the jump and then have to restart the level, well you can do a slide high jump and spin. You can make it. Btw awesome video.
I couldn't get over the gun with a slide + spin jump, tried a few times. :/ Maybe if you have the running shoes?
Just did this as well. Can confirm this works. Slide+spin+jump.....gives you plenty of height to get over without the use of the enemy.

at 6:45 there is a red gem in my game but i can't reach it.

Keep trying it, making sure you hit the spin on the max height… there’s a sweet spot to get it to work perfectly, try moving your characters starting position a little… momentum helps too (get the lower boxes after the high ones)
When I beat the first 5 levels of cortex strikes back there is no where else to go. Do I need the gems to move on?
Also how is this guy gonna say “we’re gonna get all the gems” and then dodge every box?

All you have to do is slide and hit square and x at the same time like you were doing a spin jump, and it launches you even higher than a crouch jump + all the momentum you need to clear literally anything hazardous. Best move in the game when you can perfect it.
