  • Final Assembly of the Studio Sleeper. I love how it turned out!
    Files to print your own found here: www.myminifactory.com/object/...
    The design is fully modular. You can have as many or as few axles as you want and change the length between the transmission and the dive axles. The drive axles have a working differential, giving a much sharper turning radius. There is also a solid axle option if you plan to go off the pavement. There is a functioning lift axle with working suspension and passive steering.
    I plan to sell the files when all is complete. I am excited to see what trucks everyone can build. The options are endless. From a single axle in town truck to a multi drive axle heavy haul, or dump truck. There's so many possibilities with the ease of the modular design.
    Here are links to the parts I am currently using in the chassis:

      Thank you! That was my thought too. I’ve always wanted one but the price was too high. 3D printing is making things much more accessible.

      How many hours of printing has it taken

    • @BuildItBetter3D

      I haven’t kept track of printing hours. I think I can do a whole truck in 3 weeks with the printer going almost non stop.

    Whats the chance of scaling these files to 1:8 scale? I bought the file and are great I would just like to build a bigger scale. Just the cab ones as I build steel frame.

    • @BuildItBetter3D
      @BuildItBetter3D  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. I use this calculator for changing scales. www.scalemodelersworld.com/online-scale-converter-tool.html
      You should be able to scale it just fine if only doing the cab.

    • @henryfehr6202
      @henryfehr6202 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BuildItBetter3D thanks for your reply. I know about the scale thing. The reason for asking was the cab looks to be pretty thick and if I scale it up 175 percent the walls will end up so thick and take a lot longer to print.

    • @BuildItBetter3D
      @BuildItBetter3D  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is thick, but gives a great rigidity to it. If scaling it up I would recommend 2-3 walls and only 5-10% infill. Then it shouldn’t take much more filament but will be nice and sturdy.

    Wow, that looks so good! How many months on my Ender 3 would it take? lol...

    • @BuildItBetter3D
      @BuildItBetter3D  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! It’s hard to say how long it’ll actually take since I’ve been printing as parts get designed, but most of it prints pretty fast. I’ve taken a lot of time designing to need as little support material as possible, and that helps speed up printing. You can print and build in sections, so you’re not just waiting on parts to print.

      @@BuildItBetter3D Sounds good. As a point of reference, I printed the 3D Sets Jeep and it took a month. 7 days a week, night and day around the clock.

      Wow!! Looks great! So much detail and design work. Were you just gluing the pieces on with regular super glue. I never seem to get it to stick to anything except my fingers!!!

    • @BuildItBetter3D
      @BuildItBetter3D  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m using super glue from Harbor Freight, I’ve had excellent results with it. All of the important stuff is attached with screws but the small details get glued on.

    • @BuildItBetter3D
      @BuildItBetter3D  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This will probably be similar, maybe a bit longer since it’s slightly bigger.

    Hey man, is there a trailer available for this guy? Can you use the Tamiya ones?

    • @BuildItBetter3D
      @BuildItBetter3D  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am working on a trailer but it is not yet ready. There are some trailers on Thingiverse that are 1/14 scale, I’m not sure how good they work though. Tamiya trailers should work with it, they should be the same scale and I believe I’ve made the fifth wheel the same size, but I have not tried any myself.
