The most time efficient contact wash for me is the pressure wash with DIY Rinseless thru my cordless Ryobi, then towel dry with DIY Waterless Wash as my drying aid. The pre-treat and pre-rinse stages are combined, and the contact and drying stages are combined.
I’m enjoying my EGO pressure washer. If you thought you enjoyed it with their set up, just wait until you try it with a stubby. EGO hasn’t disappointed me yet.
The big ik sprayer can be bought electric and be fulled up with rinseless, and since that happens you have the same result but cheaper? You can even put it on a bucket dolly and move it arround without the hassle of a hose cable and sprayer hose. Even the ik foamers electric (pre foam or rinse) and afterwards are cheaper and way more versatile in my opinion. But nice to see different products and inovations, this keeps the markets on point and always inovating and researching to have the best or most fit.
@@theragcompany for muddy vehicles this is indeed needed. Otherwise not really in my opinion. But indeed a good option if you’re mobile and have acces of water at some places and some not. Or just general if you like some power 😃
An air pressurized keg sprayer is another option. Much more robust than an IK with more than enough pressure to do anything but the muddiest of vehicles.
I built a detail keg and use that to pre treat cars when doing a rinseless wash. True it only gets 150psi but I have found that entirely enough to do even very dirty cars. Setup is a bit more intensive but I use very little product. Generally can use 3 gallons even with a pretreat for an entire car and wheels.
I've done this method with my Worx Hydroshot for the last three years and was my preferred step before soap baths and now that P&S Frostbite is a thing I've switched to using that in my IK sprayer. Depends on the job but I may occasionally use rinseless in the water. For those who are wondering, the EGO Pressure Washer fits snug on the KOBALT Utility Cart J hooks. I've outfitted mine with 20 gallons of onboard water plus upgraded to the OG Mosmatic sprayer along with Mosmatic stainless steel quick disconnects and a Prevost hose holder for the EGO hose.
@@theragcompany I've been reluctant posting my setup in the group forum because it's not fully completed yet. I'll go ahead and take some new photos and write up a post sometime this weekend. I actually have two setups depending if I am doing a rinseless wash or a foam bath so I will be sure to include that too and share my thoughts on both!
Yep, that EGO unit hit many points for going cordless. But avoid using turbo for more than a few minutes, it sucks down battery juice if used much more.
my ideal setup is a large ecoflow battery generator connected to solar, powering an active 2.0. I'm sure you could go most of the day with this setup. Also, the large unit supports fast charging as well, which you could always top up at lunch if needed.
Why not use an electric pressure washer that’s corded? That way you wouldn’t have to worry about charging batteries. You just need a good generator to run off of and a decent sized water tank. At least that’s what I’d do.
Was begging them to come out with this for years. 3200psi is a bit excessively intense but would work well with a stubby where it is easier to maintain safe standoff distance from sensitive trim, fabric tops.
Great video as always TRC!!! i already mastered the rinseless washing method. It just made my washing routine so much easier and efficient. However, this is technique dependent people who have never heard or seen this method will leave them wondering how this works without scratching the paint.
Got the Ego pressure washer, it’s great! Just need them to come out with a stubby nozzle. Thought about running some rinseless through it but wondered if it might cause problems over time?
A stubby nozzle would be awesome! Rinseless should be 100% safe to run through it, we have been testing ours with Rinseless for the last few months and have had zero issues.
If loosing the wireless connectivity is not a deal breaker I'd also suggest upgrading to the MTM SGS28 spray gun and find yourself a few 3.0 orifice nozzles. This in my mind would be the best route to achieve a shorter gun.
It works great for that pre rinse before a rinseless wash or soap bath. This ensures you are removing quite a bit of grit before throwing your preferred wash media on the paint surface!
Agreed! Also a Worx Hydroshot owner and really like the portability. I always wondered about running rinseless through it, and that question now answered. This will be my go to in the winter months. I typically find a wash bay in the evening that is not in high demand and bring a couple buckets with me. This method wound be perfect!
Sudden thought about how great that EGO would be for under chassis cleaning- soap in the bucket, pressure washer hooked up to a chassis cleaning tool and you can spray soap directly underneath the car without having to try and snowfoam the chassis in a very awkward situation. Then place the pick-up tube into a clean water bucket for rinsewater
@theragcompany It's thee most neglected area of the car- you can't see it but if you do clean the underside of the car it does give you a sense of the car being FULLY cleaned and prevents salt accumulation and corrosion- if you value your car. I always wonder why people just concentrate on areas that are visible and not the important areas that are not
Yup, everything still works. The only thing that changes is that you lose the convenience of changing the PSI from the wand and have to use the button on the front of the pressure washer.
No you don't have to use the Ego handle. You can swap it out for whatever you want to use, but you will just have to use the controls on the front of the unit.
I remember a video where Yvan Lacroix was going over the benefits of rinseless wash. He said one of them is you save yourself risk of scratches from pressure washers that may be set too high. He stated any PSI above 1,000 and you risk scratching. But it appears this machine goes up to 3200 PSI and Levi is using multiple strenghts here. What am I missing?
If you think about it, a pressure washer sprays water at high pressure meaning the velocity of the water is also carrying forced air. The pressure is so high the dirt gets lifted up and away from the paint instead of dragging it. Plus, you are lubricating everything in the process so in theory, after the dirt is dislodged from the paint, there is nothing rubbing that dirt against the paint.
I’ve been interested in this unit for a while. But the price is a little high for me. You can get a Craftsman electric pressure washer with 1500 psi for cheaper. It can also siphon water too. It also comes with 2 batteries and 2 chargers. 1500 is all I’d need, I’d only do car washes with it, specifically rinse less wash. I’ve been using a Ryobi Power Washer 600 psi and siphoning water through a 5 gallon bucket. But wouldn’t mind something with more power and run time.
The price is steep for sure, but as someone who has owned and tried two different Worx Hydroshot washers in the last 4 years, I would definitely recommend the EGO. I accomplished a lot of washes with my WG649 but I always wanted more performance. Just remember the bulk of the pricing are the batteries and the remainder price of the unit is quite a bargain and so you are getting excellent performance results for a fraction of the cost of wall mounted electric pressure washers.

Not gonna lie, I kind of want to pick one of these up even though I already have a pressure washer. Rinseless pressure wash sounds awesome.
It's definitely a cool experience, the smell from the Rinseless combined with the pressure washer was one of our favorite parts!
I think this may be my all time favorite video… atleast when it comes to the editing ❤

I’ll put “adding a stubby” on the list of mods for a future video!

Very true although it wont offer as high of pressure like the Ego it's still a great option!

You can also run it at the lower 2 speeds with a 40 degree tip and be safe. 3200 PSI is only achieved when it’s in turbo mode.
