Personally i've had this headcanon for awhile that this exact thing happened to my Titan, and he's constantly playing it over in his head through some advanced aural receptors (he's an Exo). His Ghost hates it because he thinks it's too distracting for the Titan and that he can't possibly hear comms over the music. But it's really my own excuse for listening to my playlist while farming drops.
There is a broken Vex gate on Nessus that Ghost can scan. When he does he says it's transmitting radio waves, then remarks it's classic rock from The Golden Age. So it's possible

I've said it before and I'll say it again Im willing to forgive all of Lightfall's faults simply due to Strand existing. This one subclass is so much fun to mess around with. Stasis was fun because it was strong Strand is just, plain, fun Edit: Please stop fighting over Lightfall in the comments. I just wanted to state my opinion on a game, I didn’t wanna get this heated about something I liked :(
I just wish they’d make grapple an air move with a ~15 second cooldown instead of a grenade. The other two grenades are pretty fun but I can’t justify them when most of Strand’s fun relies on grapple.
@Davide The idea of strand was there in WQ but it wasn't fully develop, I know there are webs and things in it, but looking at LF pre alpha, Strand was looking ultra primitive, also they were working in subclasses 3.0 so development of strand had to be delayed.

@@bigstupiduglyogre7205 If you're on console, a good way to practice is setting sensitivity to 1 and practice flicking your reticle down when firing. Once you get that movement down, you should be able to consistently grapple.
This feels like what they intended for strand honestly. All this crazy movement tech was inevitable with the grapple and bungie had to know that. I’m sure they even knew you could grapple rockets before lightfall launched because there’s no shot someone at bungie didn’t think about trying this during development.

When I first did the Hunter dive on Strand, all I could think about was the Kratos meme with Free Bird. There's a blatantly open hole on Neomuna that leads to the OOB and the closest Lost sector, and it has one really long drop before the kill barrier gets you. I spent at least 20 minutes just diving off into that abyss. Strand is way too much fun.

You need to use a super low velocity one, theres a guide here th-cam.com/video/AfRsUvXl2n8/w-d-xo.html if you wanna try and figure it out. You could also just use noble rounds from Lumina for a slower, but easier time
Palmyra-B (craftable) has a roll with surplus + stability masterwork and low velocity which makes grappling onto the rocket much more consistent due to the low amount of recoil. It makes it much easier on controller too and PC does not need a macro to use it...
Strand is the first time in ages that I’ve intentionally sacrificed strength for fun. I know damn well I shouldn’t be using a low velocity rocket launcher, only building into a grenade I don’t use for damage, and maxing discipline over resil and recov, but dammit I wanna fly

just fyi for grapple: if you can shoot it with a normal gun, you can grapple to it. people, projectiles, that thresher way off in the distance, doesnt matter. do what you will with this info :)

The grapple mechanic is incredible. Just the fact it feels so fluid. Its also nice not having to be on hunter or warlock for some insanely fast movement tech. Usually I keep my eager edge swords on hunter and warlock for well and shatter skating but now I can do this on titan.
This is awesome, but also probably the reason why the grapple is limited in alot of other aspects Imagine in a day 1 raid being able to do this every 15 seconds And yes eager edge is also a thing, its a bit of a niche, being one trait on one weapon type and you need to sort of build around it to gain that insane distance But then the rest of the fireteam just grapples onto them and suddenly they skipped 1/5 of a raid / dungeon (exaggerating here but i hope my point comes across)

@@erdtroll7010 I suppose so, yeah. But it does take just one person to put an anchor point and for others to grapple, then place another one higher. Others then grapple onto them and simply daisy chain it to the top since it doesn't use the grapple
hell for most jumping puzzles, you would jsut need a Hunter to pop their strand super for the infinite grapple, then the others can follow along with the grapple points. probably wont get you as far as a rocket or shatterskating, but its alot easier to get the whole raid group across normal puzzle areas
There was a nerf on physics based damage, and Out of Bounds invisible walls have been mostly solid. It also helps that the community really doesn’t know how to keep quiet with exploits, secrets, blind spots.
How can you grapple on too it while looking horizontal? I've been trying so much but can't seem tl stick it. You grapple almost instantly after shooting, with me it's like there's a delay. How'd you do it? What perks on the weopon and build did you use! This technique is so cool, I wanna learn 🙏 I see you're Palmyra-B, so I crafted one with using all the perks to get the highest stability. I used enhanced Surplus for extra stability for fully charged abilities, and enhanced chill clip for a little extra. Highest I can go is 80 stability.
It would be cool if Young Ahamkara's Spine gave grenade energy for ability dmg. Like if the exotic would have: "Grants Enhanced Tripmines. Dealing ability damage grants grenade energy." Would make it an amazing exotic to be used on other classes. It would give energy regen to tripmines the same as it is now but would give 50% of that for other subclasses or even 10%. Would make it a neat universal exotic but keep the main benefits on Solar Gunslinger
There are arm mods that do kinda the same thing, like Impact Induction and Grenade Kickstart. As a Young Ahamkara's Spine enjoyer, I will say it would be neat if it was viable with other subclasses, but I feel like there wouldn't be much point to it considering the main thing YAS gives is the tripmine buff, and we have ways to get decent grenade regen using mods. Also YAS is already super strong with what it does, and really doesn't need any buffs. (sucks that they nerfed tripmine cooldown tho)

Cuz ahamakara gives energy also gives energy from ignitions and acrobat's dodge(that radiant effect actually deals dmg from that dodge) so like strand hunter dive can give energy cuz that also deals damage combining mods, id say a 10% regen would probably let you do 3 grapple melees in a row but would be cool if it did. I wouldnt mind trading off enhanced tripmines if it gave energy across all subclasses evenly tho

I hard main Young Ahamkara's Spine and I would be devastated if they completely and fundamentally changed the basic use case of the exotic. Young Ahamkara's Spine is so much better in its current form than it would ever be with that alteration.

Unless the rocket grapple breaks endgame activities they will probably leave it alone. Its pretty harmless, the only way I could see it being nerfed or patched out would be if grappling the rocket multiplied it's damage or something
it's bad. Gjally's rockets are so fast that it's hard to grapple to them and even if you do, strand's pull isn't fast enough to keep up and the rocket outpaces the grapple quick and you fall off

Tap 2 at 0:16 , right after they fly past the light on the right side on the Vex structure, and you can seamlessly listen to the solo forever.

I haven't touched Destiny since the whole Dares of Eternity thing, but god damn does this give me the urge to get back into it.
I feel like if instead of a training montage, it was just this hunter being like “this is how you strand, bois” and freebies starts blasting and you see him just fly off at rocket speed, It would’ve been better
The grapple mechanic is incredible. Just the fact it feels so fluid. Its also nice not having to be on hunter or warlock for some insanely fast movement tech. Usually I keep my eager edge swords on hunter and warlock for well and shatter skating but now I can do this on titan.
This is awesome, but also probably the reason why the grapple is limited in alot of other aspects
Imagine in a day 1 raid being able to do this every 15 seconds
And yes eager edge is also a thing, its a bit of a niche, being one trait on one weapon type and you need to sort of build around it to gain that insane distance
But then the rest of the fireteam just grapples onto them and suddenly they skipped 1/5 of a raid / dungeon (exaggerating here but i hope my point comes across)
Tell that to the aspect that lets you recharge the grapple by simply doing damage lol

And there arent exactly hordes of mobs during jumping puzzles

But it does take just one person to put an anchor point and for others to grapple, then place another one higher. Others then grapple onto them and simply daisy chain it to the top since it doesn't use the grapple
hell for most jumping puzzles, you would jsut need a Hunter to pop their strand super for the infinite grapple, then the others can follow along with the grapple points. probably wont get you as far as a rocket or shatterskating, but its alot easier to get the whole raid group across normal puzzle areas

There was a nerf on physics based damage, and Out of Bounds invisible walls have been mostly solid. It also helps that the community really doesn’t know how to keep quiet with exploits, secrets, blind spots.

How can you grapple on too it while looking horizontal? I've been trying so much but can't seem tl stick it. You grapple almost instantly after shooting, with me it's like there's a delay. How'd you do it? What perks on the weopon and build did you use! This technique is so cool, I wanna learn 🙏
I see you're Palmyra-B, so I crafted one with using all the perks to get the highest stability. I used enhanced Surplus for extra stability for fully charged abilities, and enhanced chill clip for a little extra.
Highest I can go is 80 stability.

It would be cool if Young Ahamkara's Spine gave grenade energy for ability dmg. Like if the exotic would have:
"Grants Enhanced Tripmines. Dealing ability damage grants grenade energy." Would make it an amazing exotic to be used on other classes. It would give energy regen to tripmines the same as it is now but would give 50% of that for other subclasses or even 10%. Would make it a neat universal exotic but keep the main benefits on Solar Gunslinger
There are arm mods that do kinda the same thing, like Impact Induction and Grenade Kickstart. As a Young Ahamkara's Spine enjoyer, I will say it would be neat if it was viable with other subclasses, but I feel like there wouldn't be much point to it considering the main thing YAS gives is the tripmine buff, and we have ways to get decent grenade regen using mods. Also YAS is already super strong with what it does, and really doesn't need any buffs.
(sucks that they nerfed tripmine cooldown tho)

Cuz ahamakara gives energy also gives energy from ignitions and acrobat's dodge(that radiant effect actually deals dmg from that dodge) so like strand hunter dive can give energy cuz that also deals damage combining mods, id say a 10% regen would probably let you do 3 grapple melees in a row but would be cool if it did. I wouldnt mind trading off enhanced tripmines if it gave energy across all subclasses evenly tho
@@Mercie1322 I would 100% mind very much if they removed the enhanced Tripmines. I hard main Young Ahamkara's Spine and I would be devastated if they completely and fundamentally changed the basic use case of the exotic.
Young Ahamkara's Spine is so much better in its current form than it would ever be with that alteration.

In their devlog they said that grappling projectiles was a bug they intensionally left in because it was fun
@@nisavisto794 they want you to have fun rn to sell the expansion but after that they will most likely nerf strand
Unless the rocket grapple breaks endgame activities they will probably leave it alone. Its pretty harmless, the only way I could see it being nerfed or patched out would be if grappling the rocket multiplied it's damage or something

it's bad. Gjally's rockets are so fast that it's hard to grapple to them and even if you do, strand's pull isn't fast enough to keep up and the rocket outpaces the grapple quick and you fall off
