Netherlands did not send a full team and Spain did not qualify for Team Finals. Spain is no longer a good enough team. They didn't get a full team to Rio and they didn't even qualify for the Test Event. they were 17th at the 2015 Worlds.
That's fascinating...I remembered the 2004 olympics...I think that's the last time I saw a full team from Spain that was a contender. I hope we see them back into a full team contender in international competition. Thanks for responding and answering my questions.
I highly doubt that Spain will return to prominence anytime soon sadly. They no longer have a core group of gymnasts that can challenge in the AA like they had with the Fraguas sisters, Rueda, Paz, Martin, Pacheco, Juarez, Moya, Moro, Martinez, Moreno. Roxanna Popa is all they really had left this time around and constant injuries to her destroyed the Spanish team leadership. The juniors were 12th at Europeans, which is very unfortunate and demonstrates they don't have much of a chance at returning to glory with the next generation. They need new coaching staff. Jesus Caraballo has done a lot but is ready for retirement.

no they didn'tthey needed to get 1st 2nd 3rd or 4th at the test event and they placed 7th :(
