- We knew there might be some complications with the big Eventuri CAI and the HKS SQV4 piping. Here’s what you can expect. Good explanation from my tuner. Plus a couple unexpected surprises.
Hasn’t it been proven that the stock is best intake for the fk8?
Update: The Eventuri was taken out. The FK8 is now 100% HKS ( Intercooler, BOV, Intake, & Exhaust ) Much better now.
Do the HKS BOV fit to FK2 Type R? As the airbox different from FK8. What is the solution when have a engine check light when installing the HKS BOV ?
Sorry for the late replay. I can''t be sure if the SQIV BOV fits the FK2. You would need to contact HKS. I would imagine that there is a different piping system. You might be able to...MIGHT. I do not believe that BOV would cause the CEL. Most likely the CEL would be related to the MAF sensor.
I use an AFR Piggyback controller that adjusts the calculation of air flow. That has more to do with the HKS CAI that I use.
Anytime, you buy one component of a full system, you are going to have irregularities. I would NOT get the BOV, if I didn't have the CAI that is part of that system.

What did you do with the stock bov? Run both or block off the recirc?
He didn’t answer. Some says need to block the stock bov otherwise CEL came on.
What did you do to fix the CEL from adding an additional wastegate?

Hole in the box , simple just drill it should be fine
corone2018 Thanks for the comment! I have already changed out the Eventuri for the new HKS Carbon intake.
The wrap will not help it will cost you power. Yes for the first time its blocking the heat from outside away... but.... the heat from inside will hold and cant go away :(
I agree. Also I'm pretty sure the inlet pipe is aluminum, and aluminum naturally has a low emissivity value which means that it absorbs less radiation when compared to other metals like steel. SO the reflective tape is literally doing what the aluminum is designed to do. The tape doesn't "reflect" convection or conduction heat transfer. This means the tape will prevent heat from escaping from metal and stay hotter longer.
