    Recently replaced my carbon frame for titanium. Loved carbon at the beginning after having ridden aluminum for so many years. Fast, responsive, great ride comparatively. Then got hit from behind by another cyclist on a group ride, went down and cracked top tube. Bike was never the same after repair. After reassessing the purpose of riding (many of the same reasons you mentioned) I thought about steel but wanted modern components and tire clearance. Did a frame swap to a titanium frame and couldn’t be happier. Thanks for sharing your build and thoughts on why you chose steel. It’s a beaut!

      Hi , titanium is more comfortable than steel and it absorbs road imperfections better but it is more fragile ! it all depends on the weight of the cyclist as well as the road too ! here i have seen people disappointed with the cracking of their titanium frames must be careful 💥 it’s a beautiful frame ! but a little too expensive 🇮🇹 🌈 😊

    All reason you mention I totally agree, ride quality is my number one reason for steel bike. I own one old steel bike, and my new bike will be the steel. Cinelli Nemo is very high on my wish list.

    You forgot my tommasini tecno. 100% made in Italy. Agree with all your review. I have carbon, aluminum, titanium, steel road bikes. I find my self reaching for my steel and ti bike more. Agree, not too many cyclist are real racers. Better to get a bike tailor made for your body and I would say steel and ti are my choice of materials. Fit is king. Followed by the ride quality of the bike. 💪

      I didn’t forget, I was completely ignorant of the brand! Thank you for educating me on something I didn’t know about. Are their carbon bikes also made in Italy? I am sure the steel frames are.
      Yes, I agree and so do most titanium and steel bike owners… most have high end carbon bikes. But they gather dust as it’s the ti and steel bikes that get ridden.
      Safe riding and thanks for your comment. 👍🏻

      Battaglin, Pegoretti, BIXXIS, Gios, Faggin, Daccordi, Olmo, Guerciotti...to mention a few, are made in Italy.

    • @mr.rodriguez3512
      @mr.rodriguez3512 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A custom bicycle is the one made using your body's dimensions. Battaglin, Agustín Hincapié from Colombia, BIXXIS and many others do it. Since Cinelli has a size chart established, it means they don't manufacture their bicycles custom.
      As for the part where the rear brake caliper goes attached, it's called the brake bridge.

    Great frame only I don't like under the bottom bracket shifter cable because it is at the mercy of road debris

  • @anthonyharris483

    Beautiful steel frame but the only problem is the under the bottom bracket cable guides allowing shifter cables to be exposed to road debris.

      I actually prefer that to internal. From my experience internal tends to be heavier, harder to install and actually is more likely to rust. Because once water gets inside the liners or frame it stays damp. I have never had any issues with my other bike that use this system. Not even the bike I’ve had for 16 years. In fact thinking about it… all my bikes use this system and I’ve never had to replace a gear cables because of rusting under the BB shell. 🙂 Maybe it’s because I wash my bike every 200-300km? 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Ordered my Nemo Tig about a year ago (it took forever to arrive) and was actually considering the yellow moon option as well, but went for matte anthracite instead. (still think I made the right choice, but the yellow moon looks still better then I would have anticipated).
    Anyway as I have had the bike for the summer and fall in the Nordic climate I can say I couldn't have imagined for a better bike. While I haven't owned a carbon bike myself, I have ridden some pretty high end rental ones and you can't change the feeling that you get with a steel one. And as a regular rider you really don't notice the weight difference that might or might not be there compared to some lighter carbon frames.
    Plus I've always had a thing for Italian bikes, vintage or new and this bike is as Italian as one can be.
    PS! For someone who's looking for a custom build Nemo Tig, then frame sizing and some painting options is like 400 € or so. So depends on your budget and build if you need to use that option. I went for a standard frame.

      Thank you for your comment, it’s nice to hear an other people’s experience with the bike. Currently I’m riding the bike most days and gathering information to make a proper review.
      Have you seen my bike building video? I think she turned out very well and I do like the colour, yellow isn’t my favourite colour but it just seems to work with this bike.
      Thanks again and Safe riding!
      PS. Yes you are right about it being an Italian bike, I don’t count bikes made in China with an Italian name as being Italian. But thankfully this is made in Italy.

      @Reginald Scot, thank you, I have also ordered a Nemo TIG frame now, finally decided to have my “forever” bike in steel. As you also mention that Shimano group set is the most likely option as all other bikes I have use Shimano, so more practical even it would have been looking awesome with Campagnolo groups set, so the choice is to install Shimano Ultegra, when it is available. Please also update what BB you have chosen to use for your Nemo build. TQVM and take care.

    Hmm, not cheap, but still obviously heaps cheaper than many carbon and titanium frames. I like the way they use the retro Columbus tube stickers. About 20 years ago, I spent many, many hours making fake Columbus stickers on Adobe Photoshop . The files were huge. 😆 About 30 years ago, I paid 40 bucks Aud for a "black market" set of Columbus SLX stickers.

      I have a matte pearl white, rim brake Nemo Tig with white (ghost) stickers, English threaded bottom bracket. Campagnolo 80th anniversary group (set #102). Campagnolo WTO 45 wheels with 28mm Vittoria Corsa Control tires. White seat and white Cinelli Dinamo stem and bars. This bike has stunning beauty and ride characteristics. I just can’t say enough about it. I put close to 10,000 miles on it in 2021.

    Nice informative video - thank you.
    Does the frameset come with the steerer already pre cut i.e. is there no option for fitting spacers if needed?
    Also would the Gravel version be a suitable 4 seasons bike (geometry wise) - I'm really looking mostly for fast (ish) road training (on 'B' Roads) with comfort but the additional option of some Green Lane/Dirt Track riding would be welcomed?
    Thank You again.

    • @reginaldscot165
      @reginaldscot165  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes the steerer is un-cut when you buy the frame. In wouldn’t recommend this road bike for B-roads, it’s not comfortable enough, I imagine the gravel bike would be significantly heavier and also have poor comfort owing to the design of the frame, however the much fatter tyres would help. If I was you I’d look at Litespeed’s titanium bikes. For the same money you can get a T5 rim or T5 disc or T5 gravel!

    • @cygnusxl5
      @cygnusxl5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@reginaldscot165 Thank you for the reply. Yes, since posting my comment above I have watched your other video on your overall impressions of the Cinelli, that was invaluable as I now know this frameset is not suitable for my requirements.
      I will look at the Litespeeds. I also have in mind the Mason Definition (Aluminium) and Resolution (Steel) plus the Fairlight Strael and Secan - I know these fit my use requirements.
      Just off topic have you ever ridden or tested the Cinelli Zydeco frameset or have you heard any reports as to it's performance.
      Cheers. 👍

I just ordered the gravel version of Nemo myself, you made me even more impatient, and still have to wait until June… I was wondering about what said about it being custom made. Did you just mean that it’s made on order, or did you actually specify a custom geometry that’s different from the standard geometries offered by Cinelli?

    Why the sloping ?????????????????????????????? Why.........a beautyful bike like this, you ruin this frame with a useless sloping !! Anyway it is not true that you dont have to worry about ruined road, remember that this frame have a carbon fork......then......be very veryyyyyyyy attentive....and with carbon wheels too.....you do not want problems ? you have to put steel fork, alluminium wheels, steel or alluminium stem, aluminium handlebar, steel or alluminium seat post !
