The smile on Genes face when he talked about making his mom proud was priceless. He is so lucky to have that. The woman who birthed me wants nothing to do with me. Yesterday I turned 60 and not a note or phone call. I dedicated my life to her and she threw me away. I'm so jealous of what Gene has but also happy that I have that with my own children and grandchildren.

We have children, in which 95% of them, came from love.( I am truly sorry and mean no disrespect if this percentage is incorrect or wrong to say), I could feel his pride to have such a love from his Mom. I love my 3 kids with all my heart and soul. I cannot imagine any of them feeling like I dont give a shit about them. I have gone through many struggles with them during their teen years but would NEVER stop loving them let alone not speaking to them, or "throw them away". We as moms love them unconditionally right from their first welcome to this world. I have a mom who will be having her 100th birthday this September. She has hurt me many times throughout my life with hurtful comments. I lost a sister in 2010 to breast cancer. Since that time my mother has said gut wrenching things by comparing my sister to me and saying low blows like my sister would not approve of some kind of help I was giving her. However, I can honestly say she never threw me away or never would let a birthday pass without saying Happy Birthday to me. So I am sorry that your Mom has hurt you like this. It sounds though, that your hurt has not been passed on to your own children and grandchildren. They are blessings to you and you know that they are.

"I was made for loving you" is my husband's and mine song. We saw KISS in concert the second last time they were in Australia and my husband took our 14 year old son to see them when they were here last year as his first rock concert. He knew all the songs AND the words thanks to his father constantly playing their vinyl records.

Women who married rock stars back in the day knew what they were getting into. Groupies and touring were and still are part of the lifestyle. The women who stuck around really needed to make their peace with it to work. It’s an arrangement, I bet they’d be compensated with gifts and attention when their men come home.
Sge was rewarded with beautiful children an a lovely home,she didn't spend money like a drunken sailor. Shannon raised normal children an waited often in hurt for Gene,many tears an now the ball is in her court. Shannon loved more than money, he got a great wife

My point was that these men (rock stars) would most likely be attentive towards their wives when they come home. What happens on the road stays on the road. It takes a woman with emotional stability and a strong sense of self not to let jealousy or their imagination ruin the marriage.

Great comment - and agree. All these judgemental people on here - these two are still together, they seem like good people who help others, have great kids and enjoy success. I'm sure they are both flawed - it's their business. They don't get involved in dramas involving others - and do their own thing. Their marriage is their business - they both went into the entertainment industry so expecting a 9-5, conventional suburban life wasn't realistic for either. Let them be - like you say, they are above it - they don't owe explanations. They are unique, and seem warm and fun.
They seem like they are very solid good friends who love each other and are family which has been very healing for them both...I think having children has been the key for Gene Symons metamorphis into true adulthood.

Can’t imagine putting up with so much disrespect just to be the one who “landed” him. Has nothing to do with love. It’s called being co-dependent. He is adored by the public for Idolizing his mother endlessly and yet treated his wife like an expendable accessory with no right to respect for most of her life.
It’s interesting that he felt like he would not do right by children he fathered. I felt the opposite. When I was younger I remember thinking and saying, “When I have kids I’m not going to . . .” Although I made many many mistakes as a parent I made sure not to call my kids names, tell them they were stupid, and the list goes on. What I do is always say I love you and how happy and fortunate I am to be their mom. Terrible cycles can be broken but it requires intention and work.
So sweet, Gene is right no matter what your mom is the number one she gave birth to us ,and in my case my dad he was a great father to us all and husband to my mom.

Loved their TV show - Family Jewels - it was over the top but down to earth at the same time - I just loved the way Shannon and the kids tormented Gene, and seeing him in his onesie jammies.

They definitely have a strong grounding where they’ve built their family. It shows in their family. Their kids have always been well rounded, intelligent and respectful, nothing like most kids from entertainers. They’ve really put the time & energy into what’s important- their family. Yes, “I want to rock & roll all night”!! I love these two. Watched their show , “Gene Simmons Family Jewels” faithfully & religiously. Loved watching their 2 children grow up & see how Gene was in love with Shannon & her with him!! They laughed & loved in each episode, Gene’s office, Kiss stuff everywhere. Their house, gorgeous but not over the top. They love their children & it showed. Too bad the shows out there today similar to their’s but is scripted & I don’t believe a word they say. Thankfully & finally Gene proposed & they are married. Shannon is absolutely beautiful & Gene, he has not changed a bit. The hair & dark sunglasses. Great video & interview Piers!!

I remember while at a Kiss concert, Gene noticed my wife and I were an almost elderly couple at the New Year's Eve concert in 99-2000 in NY. I thought for sure he was digging my wife and all I could think was you will never hold her.

I love this couple. What a great family they’ve made together. So many years, love & great memories they’ve made together with their beautiful kids, who are gorgeous & amazing adults. They’ve done a great job raising their children in this World today. Neither are entitled or lazy but rather the complete opposite. Just lovely how they’ve turned out. I’m sure Gene’s Motger was very proud of her son and family. She did an incredible job with Gene and he’s passed on these values to another generation. What a success story from such a beautiful soul. I’d love to read or watch the story of her life. That’s a woman who endured with dignity. I’m sure Gene misses her and her wisdom. 🙏🌺

you blame the musician for not having the morals and values of saying to the woman i am married or in a relationship put your clothes on nothing is happening here. just because he's a musician doesn't mean he gets a free pass. we all have temptations in life and we put our big girl or big boy pants on and say no. if you want to live the single life you stay single. she's giving him a ridiculous out and not holding him accountable she sounds desperate and where is her self respect for herself thinking that she doesn't deserve a man that values her enough to say no to temptation out of respect for her. i feel sorry for her. what kind of role model is she modeling for her daughter and her son? it's called limits and morals. she must have such low self esteem or she liked the money enough to look the other way. either way it's sad.
The year was 1979, i was 11 years old. I mowed lawns in my neighborhood, front yard $7, both front and back for $10......? I did it for three weeks, so I could buy three $15 KISS tickets. My first concert, and still the best!
KISS was also the last concert i saw a couple of years back in Laughlin, still Rockin and going strong!
Iv😢 lost count of how many times I've seen them. I took my son for his first concert, yes, it was KISS lol, a family tradition ‼️
Lucky. My first professional concert was Judas Priest, which I have never realy listened too that much and it was an enjoyable concert, but KISS so far is my favorite band.
