    This jazzy, big band, old Hollywood vibe seems to really be Max’s thing. Chocolate is similar too. It really suits him.
    As for the video, I really liked the part in the choreo where they were plucking the strings. TVXQ choreo has really good story telling I find.

      yeah, I noticed that too, their choreography is a little more purposeful and story derived

    "Something" was released in January 2014, but it was recorded as part of TVXQ's 10th anniversary celebration, so to commemorate their 10th anniversary, if you notice, there is a Roman numeral X on the floor in the middle of the ballroom.
    Fun fact: as you may know, it wasn't real common to see females in Kpop boy group MVs until more recently, and that's one reason why Changmin used to say that filming for the "Something" MV was his favorite. Because after 10 years, this was the first time that they had ever used females in one of their MVs. Changmin was 25 years old at the time and U-Know was 27. And as you saw in the MV, you can see why he had such a good time. LOL ;)
    You should really see a live comeback stage for "Something." The choreo they perform live with this song has them using that double ended mic that is attached in the middle by a rope. They each hold an end of the rope, and they show off their impressive dance skills by dance without getting tangled in the rope. It's one of those performances that shows exactly why they are considered one of the best performing duos in the industry.
    You also seem to have a really bad habit of stopping the MV or video before it is actually done. If you had let this MV finish there is a fun part at the end of the video that continues the storyline, where we see Max and U-Know get transported into the photo hanging on the wall in the hallway as they leave the building. When it comes to Kpop videos you should be careful stopping the video before it is completely finished because you will often miss something that could be an important part of the storyline in the MV that comes at the very end, which could even be after the credits or following the end screen. If you stop a video and see that there is still several seconds before it ends, that usually is an indication that there is more to the video. You always seem to be in a rush to end your reaction and tell us what you think and you never let the video play to the end. Which I find kind of annoying because it feels like you aren't allowing them to finish the story and your cutting them off.

      Yeah, I have noticed that intergender routines only seem to come from TVXQ videos. I will check out the live version for sure as soon as I can!
      I know, I do cut them off. Honestly it annoys me too, I don't have youtube premium and no matter what I do they always will run ads and usually it messes with the edits but I will add the end on from now on, I will take the extra time for some extra editing.

    This one lives in my head rent free, I adore it. Everyone of their videos is like a photoshoot for a Vogue cover hahaha I mean the budget for the suits alone must have bankrupted SM. Yeah most of the time I just like to dance out so don't like to get bogged down by too heavy a lyric (half the time I think its great that they singing in Korean hahaha), but I do always look out for a great "line"

      I think the balance is necessary, if all you write about is your problems or solutions or what is deep after awhile you end up with nothing left to say

    This song and video are so fun! I am one of those people who almost exclusively watches movies from the 30s and 40s so I totally relate to the Old Hollywood vibe. It’s also interesting that you mentioned the transatlantic accent, I recently watched a few videos that discussed the speech patterns and origins.

    • @Killdeer25
      @Killdeer25  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh really? It's weird that a kind of fake accent is... dead?
      You like the vintage Hollywood stuff? I do in small doses. It's very prevalent where I'm at. Maybe that's why.

      @@Killdeer25 I get a kick out of the way they used to speak in the old movies. I used to wonder about it, which is what lead me to finding out about the transatlantic accent. Interestingly, the basics started out in New England boarding schools.
      Yes, I really enjoy old movies, especially the romantic comedies and Universal horror movies. I even collected Tyrone Power memorabilia at one point. Sorry, I’m getting way off K-pop now!😂

    I'm pretty sure this was my first TVXQ video. I really like this one. It's fun and I still listen to it quite a bit. I like that big band, slightly jazzy sound. I tend to draw the line at more avant-garde jazz, but I do enjoy songs like this one that have at least a little bit of a jazz feel.

    • @Killdeer25
      @Killdeer25  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah, it can get a little over board. I think you have to be very careful in how much you put into the song, I tend to agree that the jazzy feel is where they feel comfortable and wonder if thats why it works so well
