    Useful tips. Since I did freemotion only for 15 years, I do find it quicker in some areas but my hands aren't as steady as they once were (age 75 now) so rulers are a necessity at times!

    I have the petal pusher ruler. Didn’t know I could slide it under by lifting the foot when needle down! Learned something new!

    I love quilting with rulers to do stitch in the ditch or make an outline or frame and then FMQ from there. I'd love the ruler you used because it is much longer than the one I have now.

      As you start watching videos, remember that most of the techniques are similar between stationary machines as well as frame mounted so watch them all!!

    I just recently bought my long arm. It was delivered last Thursday - it sits in the other room unused as I remain intimidated :-) your videos are helping me a lot. I think tomorrow I might even turn it on ha ha.

    I am very new to ruler-based quilting - bought the rulers (fave is the Versa-tool) and used the straight & curved side to do a table runner on my domestic but life gets in the way of me practicing more than that. Now that I've installed the conversion kit on my "new to me" HQ Sweet 16 sit-down, I'm excited to do more!

    I love both techniques. The rulers help me learn muscle memory and quilt path, so my free motion looks better.

    I’m fairly new quilter and find I’m better at ruler work than free motion. All my quilt work is done on a computerized domestic sewing machine. I envy quilters that can do free motion work. Thanks for your demo.👍❤️😊
