Sorry to be offtopic but does anyone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot the account password. I appreciate any tips you can give me.
@Dillon Adrien Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im trying it out atm. Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I am so glade that i ran across this video I have been trying out quilting with rulers and this design is great...... I have been working on a queen size quilts that are ten inch blocks ..... so what i did was to break down the ten inches into four five inch areas to quilt and straight lines and i thought i had made a mess of it but looking at this design maybe i am not doing so bad....lol i did not start out quilting straight lines but that is for another day..... keep up the good work.
I continue to bow at your feet Angela. You are such a gifted quilter AND instructor!!!! I have your chevy ruler and will be taking up the challenges on this video
Just want to say thank you for all of the time and effort you put into these videos. Having you right by my side while I am working is improving my ruler quilting ability:)
Fun video! Thanks Angela for explaining how to use the reference lines on the foot stops on your rulers. That will help a lot with hitting the target in dot-to-dot quilting. 😍
I have a new Amara...upgrading from mid arm to long arm! Learning ruler is on my priority list! Thank you for all the tips and tricks, I love 💕 your teaching methods...oh and congratulations!
I have had your rulers ever since they came out and was scared to use them. After watching your video I went to my machine and worked on the designs you demonstrated. They came out perfect. Thank you, thank you, thank you
Angela thank you for designing the Chevy ruler. I started using rulers on my longarm machine last year and I have found that one to be my favorite for straight lines and stitching in the ditch.
Angela, good to see you online again! After Midnight Quilter (which I loved) ended, I lost track of you. Enjoyed seeing you create the quilt top on that show, so hope you will include some of that in a later series.
Love the video, bought the slim about a year ago and use it all the time. This is my first challenge on my Baby Lock Coronet. Can't wait until next week to see more.
Angela, I LOVE your videos. You have helped me get to where I feel confident (mostly) about FMQ and giving away the quilts I make. Every quilt is for someone else and I am so glad to be able to give something I created from start to finish.
Got my panel kit and rulers, with the thread today going to get started tomorrow! Thank you Angela, you make it look easy, but we shall see what happens!
Angela, thank you so much for this series. I quilt on my regular Juki sewing machine and have always wanted to try ruler quilting. I need to buy your 3 rulers for low shank machines. Looking forward to the rest of this series!!!
Angela, Can you please let us know what color of thread you used from the coordinating thread kit? Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us.
Thank you for your videos! My first quilting challenge and never used rulers before. I’m scared I will mess up my panel, but with your videos and tips I’m ready to dig in. Off we go! You are the best!
I want to do machine quilting getting all the supplies needed. On all your videos I have seen they are done on panel's and are not a patchwork quilt. I m struggling with what would look best on a log cabin quilt design. Do I do a few extra blocks and see what looks good or can someone give me some ideas.
Angela, thanks so much for providing these instructive quilalongs! I did the dot to dot and fills one, and learned so much in the process. I do find, however, starting this ruler one, I’m way more apt to be critical of less than perfect stitches and lines with ruler work, opposed to free motion, where if I make an oops, I can fill around it to make it more purposeful looking. With ruler work, how do I keep myself from constantly wanting to go in with my seam ripper and correct my mistakes from slipping rulers et al? Doing my best, tho! Thanks! Wendy
I have a domestic on a Grace frame. Learning to use rulers on it! I have less room to work with but I feel like it is easier to use a “longarm.” I hope to one day upgrade my machine so it will have a bigger throat and more space, but for now it is helping my work so much! Thank you for showing long arm and sewing machine work it really does help to wrap your head around all of it! :-)
Today after watching you. For the first time I felt, I can do this. Did okay with the echoing not so good with the diagonal lines mainly due to bad travelling. SO so with the dot to dot again due to bad travelling. Cannot seem to find a happy medium with foot height.
Pre ordered my panel and have it ready to go, went back and ordered the borders, some thread and ruler, those will be delivered today. Thanks Angela for these FMQ videos and I appreciate being able to order my supplies from your shop. Now it’s up to me to practice, practice, practice, lol.
I got my long arm last year after watching your Midnight show. I'm still trying to get accustomed to quilting. I can piece all day long, but I have to brace myself to use the machine. You are making it look so easy. I would love to take a class from you. I live in Central Illinois. I'll check in soon.
Angela, this is my first challenge. If I bought the borders, should I attach them before layering the quilt sandwich or do you use some type of quilt as you go method for the borders later?
Square spiral is one of my favorites! So excited for a new challenge series! I didn't get the panel this time, because with just starting school, I wasn't sure how soon I'll be able to do it. I just finished piecing a quilt top last night, and rulers will be perfect for quilting it, so I'll be excited to see the videos each week. :-)
Question: how do you know distance? Like the dot to dot it's about 1/2 an inch; is it just eyeballing? And the scrambled lines how do you keep the lines consistent? One is skinny and the next fat. I got straight figured out, but not spacing. Thanks so much for doing this.
I use safety pins about 6 inches apart and then spend some time with the walking foot quilting any long straight lines. If there are open areas, I leave the pins in until I get close. Never put your ruler over a safety pin, take it out. After I have been quilting for a while, there are no pins left.
I Love your FMQA! I have a long arm and I usually wait to quilt until all the videos post. Are you quilting an area and then removing the quilt from your machine? Would it be possible to post a pdf of all the designs on the top after you finish the series? I typically Quilt from the top down on the panel. Thanks!
I have the Chevy ruler with extensions and I’m not exactly seeing how the extensions better position the corner points as they seem to stop the foot too soon. Hoping you will explain more about that. And when I use Slim to create an angle what lints on the ruler do you suggest we use to set the angle? My angles are shifting degrees of openness. Thanks for the lesson!
Thanks so much for the demo. Just wondering about your quilting gloves and where you got them. They are doing a good job of helping you hold on and guide the quilt, but don’t involve all your fingers. Did you take a regular pair of gloves and trim off a couple fingers and bind the edges yourself ?
Whoa. This seems super challenging but I’m excited to give it give it the old college try. I’d love for you to point out your reference lines more because I have a really hard time knowing what reference line on my ruler I should be looking at! 😂 maybe I need to rewatch your creative grids ruler tutorials too! 😂
You showed, rather quickly, how to use the stops at the end of the Sid ruler to get to the point of the corner. That was a little revelation but it went soooo quickly. I know I can replay it but, in your Live Q&A session (which I can never catch live) maybe you could demonstrate it ever so slowly! Thanks for all you do!
Do you have another thread suggestion besides Glide? In spite of retreading, bobbin clean out, new needle I have frequent with top thread being pulled up into a knotted area and then breaking.
Try repositioning the direction of the thread. Horizontal or vertical. .Maybe a thread stand or thread net. But the most impt is the correct needle & size & proper tension. If none of that works contact the thread manufacturer. Good luck.
I loves this video. thx for great info. One thing that always puzzled me is how you could use a ruler because my Bernina free motion foot jumps up and down. Is your foot an after market foot?
I have a Bernina and I have a free motion foot also called a darning foot that has a tiny flat ring, and a ruler foot #72 which has a cylinder. You want the ruler foot to work with rulers in this series.
Ask for a ruler foot or ruler foot adapter for your model # at your local Bernina dealer. If they don't have it, they can order for you. HINT (warning?) When I asked about circular rulers that I had seen in a video, she said it would be more economical per ruler to get a set of assorted rulers.
I am using a long arm, Handi Quilter, with the Sure Foot. The needle is not in the center of the Sure foot. So I am not getting a quarter inch with the ruler on all sides. I have tried to hold the Sure foot in place before tightening the screw. Nothing I do seems to help. Do you have any tricks or do you think the foot needs to be replaced?
I'm not familiar with the foot, but here's some things you can try. If the needle is in the correct position back-to-front, but a bit to one side, try moving the needle over (if your machine does that). Or try putting a little shim between the top of the foot and the shank (where you screw the foot on).
I have an HQ Sweet Sixteen with a sure foot. My needle is dead center. You may want to call HQ customer service. They may be able to help you get this worked out.
I’m having trouble finding a foot like this for my low shank Baby Lock machine. Does anyone have a place I can order one from? Thank you in advance for replies and suggestions. God bless!!
In the first of this lesson, it looks like you are applying the 'scrambled lines' to a white section of the panel/material. I'm assuming that's because it's easier to see? The Tip Sheet shows it on the panel as the blue section, correct??
It's so nice to see someone demonstrating on a full size quilt, instead of a little square of fabric!
Sorry to be offtopic but does anyone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account??
I somehow forgot the account password. I appreciate any tips you can give me.
@Kannon Brixton instablaster =)
@Dillon Adrien Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im trying it out atm.
Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Dillon Adrien it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thank you so much you saved my account :D
@Kannon Brixton Glad I could help xD
Wow you are 👏 thank you. I made a decision to master machine quilting and I looked you up and guess what, this came up!!!!!!!
Love the mopping area reference. Definitely think that will help me. Thanks.
Looking fabulous! What a glow you have!
This was so cool. I didn't realize I could do this on my machine with a ruler
Always learning from your videos! Hello from Iowa!
Oh my gosh, mopping the floor is the best tip ever!
Can’t wait to get home and try these designs. Thanks Angela and crew!
Thank you. I am looking forward to working with rulers and coming up with designs.
You're the best!
I continue to bow at your feet Angela. You are such a gifted quilter AND instructor!!!! I have your chevy ruler and will be taking up the challenges on this video
I love her background! I know it's not a green screen or anything, cause I've been there. But I still love it! 💖
Thanks!! It has all my favorite things :)
Yay! Angela Replied!
Just want to say thank you for all of the time and effort you put into these videos. Having you right by my side while I am working is improving my ruler quilting ability:)
Thank you this is really clear and helpful. 👍
Seeing no pins, do you use spray basting? Tips for that? Don't want the layers shifting when maneuvering the rulers this way and that
Awesome, thank you for sharing.👍❤️😊
Love the diagonal lines. Your instructions are super easy to follow
Thank you!
Fun video! Thanks Angela for explaining how to use the reference lines on the foot stops on your rulers. That will help a lot with hitting the target in dot-to-dot quilting. 😍
Oh my gosh! What fun. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for this quiltalong. I have done several of yours and enjoy them so much!
You are doing such a marvelous job! This is an incredible amount of work you are doing. I am in awe. I so enjoy learning from you. Thank you.
Love your videos, I have done ever free motion you have done, thanks
I love your videos!! Thank you much!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you
Very interesting and you made it simple.
Thank you for the video. It’s very good.
Thanks Angela good info as I am going to just learn ruler work.
WOW! This was fantastic Angela! Thank you for being so generous in teaching us!
Love your videos. You explain things so well. And your instructions make sense and are actually easier to follow. Thanks!!! Your amazing 🤗
Angela thank you for designing the Chevy ruler. I started using rulers on my longarm machine last year and I have found that one to be my favorite for straight lines and stitching in the ditch.
Looks amazing!!! Definitely going to try this 😊
I'm so excited I just got the kit to do this I know I'm a little late but so excited. Any time I can learn more free motion quilting I'm in.
You make it look so easy!! 😊
Angela, good to see you online again! After Midnight Quilter (which I loved) ended, I lost track of you. Enjoyed seeing you create the quilt top on that show, so hope you will include some of that in a later series.
joining from Central Oregon. That was my first view of a challenge. Now I can't wait to go try it myself. Thanks for all the tips.
Love the video, bought the slim about a year ago and use it all the time. This is my first challenge on my Baby Lock Coronet. Can't wait until next week to see more.
Hi Deborah, I just got a Coronet! How's it going for you?
Are you wanting us to echo around the square swirl? Great diagrams and instructions!!!!! Thank you!!
Angela, I LOVE your videos. You have helped me get to where I feel confident (mostly) about FMQ and giving away the quilts I make. Every quilt is for someone else and I am so glad to be able to give something I created from start to finish.

Thanks for the easy to follow video and the tip sheets.
Angela,
Can you please let us know what color of thread you used from the coordinating thread kit?
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us.
Yes, what thread color from the kit did you use in each section? Thanks!
Did you spray baste the pieces together or did you pin and then remove as you get closer?
Thanks so much you give so much information to help. Looking forward to trying all these out. Thanks
Thank you for your videos! My first quilting challenge and never used rulers before. I’m scared I will mess up my panel, but with your videos and tips I’m ready to dig in. Off we go! You are the best!
This was fabulous, I am so excited to try this!

Great video! Thank tou for being so generous with your time and experience. I’m going to try these patterns on a practice sandwich.
I have a domestic on a Grace frame. Learning to use rulers on it! PLEASE where can I get your quilting gloves? Love the openeness and print
What a great tutorial
You make me feel adventurous! ❣️🌹 I MUST try those methods! Did you “glue baste” your quilt?
Package came yesterday, and I’m eager to go! Thanks for such a clear demo. Now....where did I leave my longarm’s ruler platform???
I got my long arm last year after watching your Midnight show. I'm still trying to get accustomed to quilting. I can piece all day long, but I have to brace myself to use the machine. You are making it look so easy. I would love to take a class from you. I live in Central Illinois. I'll check in soon.
Where at in Central Illinois. I also live in central illinois
Got my kit today!!!
How do you “tie off” when you are quilting in the middle of a quilt?
Thank you. You've given some great tips. BJ
Thanks Angela
Angela, this is my first challenge. If I bought the borders, should I attach them before layering the quilt sandwich or do you use some type of quilt as you go method for the borders later?

Can you use any presser foot I don’t have one like the one you got in your machine? Thanks in advance.
Great video . Can’t wait to practice tonight. Can you give some advice on thread color as you go? TIA.
5* Love it
Thank you for this series. Just wondering what size needle and thread weight your using?
I purchased the thread with your kit but wondering the needle size.
Hello does anyone know what sewing machine this is? Looks like it sews brilliantly? Thank you 😊
Can you please tell us which colors of thread to use in which blocks? Or do we just use what color pleases us?
Angela, when you do today's video, can you please chat about feed dogs for both longarm and sewing machine. Thanks!
There are no feed dogs on long arms.
How do you baste your large quilts for a domestic machine so they don't get wrinkles/pleats while you are using the rulers?
I use safety pins about 6 inches apart and then spend some time with the walking foot quilting any long straight lines. If there are open areas, I leave the pins in until I get close. Never put your ruler over a safety pin, take it out. After I have been quilting for a while, there are no pins left.
It looks like Angela is spray basting her quilt. That means no pesky pins. But spray basting may be messy. Check it out.
I Love your FMQA! I have a long arm and I usually wait to quilt until all the videos post. Are you quilting an area and then removing the quilt from your machine? Regi’s Grip Quilting Gloves, Missouri Star website😊👍

I’m curious if there’s a certain stitch length that we should use for free motion. I just found your series and I LOVE it!
Thank you for the pdf that is extremely kind of you . 😘
How can I find the PDF to print out?
Vito Spano click the arrow bottle of the screen under subscribe and it will pop up
You showed, rather quickly, how to use the stops at the end of the Sid ruler to get to the point of the corner. That was a little revelation but it went soooo quickly. Should we be quilting all 4 coral squares?
Done! Turned out better than I expected except I totally screwed up the dot to dot... Thread problems 🙄
Does your home domestic machine have a stitch regulator?
Mopping is a great tip. Ive trapped myself more than once and had to start again.
Good luck.
Do you have to release your feed dogs when using rulers
Never mind, I just read the email, and it helped.
I loves this video. thx for great info. One thing that always puzzled me is how you could use a ruler because my Bernina free motion foot jumps up and down. Is your foot an after market foot?

@@maryrosespriggs5427 Thanks so.kuch!!
@@lindarider8217 Ha! Not surprising! Thanks!!
What kind of machine do you use? I would love to have that foot for my machine!
I've never seen a machine that will sew in reverse!
You just have to lower your feed dogs.
I wish youbwould let us see the finished design better. But these are absolutely beautiful

How do I find the challenge that you spoke of?
Your tops always look so loosey goosey. How do you keep them from making a big mess.
In the first of this lesson, it looks like you are applying the 'scrambled lines' to a white section of the panel/material. I'm assuming that's because it's easier to see? The Tip Sheet shows it on the panel as the blue section, correct??
D Kent I think the white is just a practice sandwich. If you want to follow her exactly then follow the handout.
