- Guitar of the Day! Taking a quick look at my favorite Ibanez yet... the RGRTBB21. Or put into terms actual humans can understand, the 28" Iron Label baritone. What a beast of an instrument with a surprisingly chonky neck.

NGL went on an Ibanez binge out in Germany, and I'm actually starting to kind of like them? What is happening?

Ibanez removing their own logo from a guitar and selling it anyway is indeed metal as fuck 😂 fuck branding, the guitar is good. You know what it is anyway.
It's not removed, it's just hard to see. I can see it in the last shot in this video
The logo is matte black on a matte black headstock, all you see is the raised profile of the Ibanez logo, very stealth
Even if they completely removed the logo we'd all recognize that headstock 🤘😎

When I worked at Kiesel they specifically would not sell a black guitar with a black logo because then people wouldn’t know it was their brand. Then I see this and I feel like they are dunking on that thought process 🤣

I have the 7-string version of this, the RGIXL7. Reverse headstock, extended scale length, it’s not an RGD, not a custom, and costs less than a thousand dollars. It’s kinda crazy, I would think I’d see these in the hands of every modern metal player on earth, but it’s a surprisingly slept-on model.
I tried one, I felt it was a longer scale but I wasn't sure. It felt comfortable. If that guitar had an evertune I wouldve bought instantly.
They're similar but not quite the same. The RGIXL7 isn't neck through, doesn't have a tone knob and is a 27 inch scale instead of 28.
@@lynnmatsuiClose ‘nuff. They look the same from the finish to the pickups, and they’re both Iron Label. Funnily enough, before I owned that guitar, I used to Google “ibanez rgixl7” and it would still give me shopping results for the baritone.

I've got a 28 scale MMM1 signature series baritone from Ibanez I've had for about 10 years now and I love that damn thing. Weighs a ton since it's made out of mahogany

I got it for 252 $ with AMP
Its likely the old Iron Lable with the EMGs

Iron Label was relaunced a couple of years ago with new Xiphos models, new Iceman models and its own RG
Normally don't like Ibanez because of the thin necks but I might have to find one of these to try

Switched to a Chapman for a “chunkier” neck but I like this guitar for sure

@Rathbone_fan_account I don't like how they feel, I have large hands and one of my first and most played guitars is a 50s spec les paul so I prefer a baseball bat feeling

I have a Ibanez 5 string bass sdgr its been complimented by every friend whos heard or played it playing through ampeg 8x10 classic with 1000 pro svt 7 head. Amazing comfortable and great playing guitar.

Reminds me of a polar opposite to the Joe Duplantier (Gojira) white Charvel with locking tuners. Beautiful.

Ibanez makes it so hard to like their products with the serial number names. The only way you’re gonna remember the “password” to their models is if you’re a hardcore Ibanez fan. I will give them props though, every one I’ve ever played has been a very decent guitar. Honestly probably the best value for your money
Eh, they're all RG's, just get the one with the specs you like. Fender and Gibson arent much better, tacking on a bunch of meaningless words onto their strat and les paul our whatever

Come on man that's not hard to remember. This generation can memorize all their silly acronyms for everything in their abbreviations for everything surely you can memorize a serial number to a guitar come on man. It's kind of a lame critique of an excellent instrument.
I love Ibanez guitars, i have the RG8 and RGMS8 from them, the MS8 is my baby, she sounds so good playing so low with a heavy distortion
I just got the Ironlabel Xiphos 7 string 2 weeks ago. Most amazing guitar I've ever owned
I picked up a GRGR131EX-BKF a while back to get back into playing after a 20 year hiatus. It's gorgeous and not too bad considering the price point. Will upgrade the pickups soon.

Matte black finish on a jupiter thunderbird neck got me back into playing guitar.
Looks like a dual pickup version of the old RG 5EX1, which was my favorite guitar and had to get one. Glad I own it, it’s beautiful.
I’ve got two Iron Label 7 strings with bolt-ons that are great guitars, but man do I love a neckthrough. Been a devotee since I got my first Jackson SL1 about 20 years ago.
I had a six string 30” scale baritone guitar in drop F tuning. That thing was wild.
I own 3 ibanez, and I love them all. Didn't even realize I was a fan of til did the count. Half the guitars I own.
My first guitar was the ibanez rg3exfm1. 2008 was the best Christmas. Red flame maple top with shark tooth inlays. Still have it and bought a red seatbelt strap for it and installed some emg humbucks.
The matte black was also nice besides the sound of them
That 7-string I mentioned I have does sound REALLY good, however. I’ll take it out once in awhile. I was having a bout of mental illness during which time I ordered several $20 efx boxes off of Temu, and one of them, “The Riffer”, proved to be an especially good dirt box for heavy sounds. It has no mud at all when paired with that 7-string, and I’m now able to do very brutal sounds without it sounding like I’m playing through one of those disco-duck rap subwoofer tubes many idiots have in their cars.

Our guitarist just got one of these recently and it’s the best! I got an RGIXL7 a while back and it’s also unreal, same pickups 6/7 sets for each and I think mine might be a 27”

I Loved When The Roadstars came out in "Matte" finish in '86 , up til then everything was absolute Gloss, However Walnut neck still would look Great with semi nano finish...

So with the Ibanez model names, RG is the "Rock Guitar" and when it reads RGR, the second R refers to the reverse headstock.
The RGD and RGA models with reverse headstocks would read RGDR and RGAR.
Ibanez has Allaire been my favorite for a reason. My fender and Gibson friends have no clue

That’s a good idea, a 6-string in large-scale, and therefore prepared straight away to do 7-string-like sounds. When speaking for myself, I start drooling and the few IQ parameciums my brain does have go straight out the window with just 6 strings. The Ibanez 7-string I bought in the late 90s is still in mint condition due to disuse, because it was just too uncomfortable to me.

Ibanez are awesome. I been playing a 84 model 707 bass for years. I have a couple of their basses, and always looking for a good guitar.
I got the Ibanez Gibson Les Paul imitation in 1978 to ‘79 or ninth grade in Wisconsin with a Peavey amp. Still looks and sounds great. Just locked up in the gun safe. It’s cuddling with the 1978 Gibson ES 335 an insurance replace the 1968 Gibson that was taken by a burglar in 2002. The Vermillion five point star guitar that I made in 10th grade is still hanging from the rafters. It needs a case for decades. The problem is my MD. UWSoM’89. Oh yeah, and Dr. Cliff got his fingers bloody on my Ibanez at age 5. Now he’s made me a grandparent twice. Hey, I can teach the grandkids how to play and how to make guitars.

Usually not a fan of Ibanez. Mostly of the vibes not the actual guitar and feel, but holy shit this guitar is so sleek looking. I love it.
