I really admire you for taking care of your aunt. I know from experience, dementia issues with loved ones are very challenging and stressful...plus heart breaking to watch. Prayers for you as you balance it all. Don’t worry a bit about the consistency of your videos...just do what you’ve got to do to take care of yourself and your family. I always enjoy your videos...I’m from the south too and love your southern flair. So fun to watch! ❤
Thank you for letting us into your world, Serana. You have a lot on your hands and are a sweet niece to care for and love your auntie. Make sure to take care of yourself as well.
Thank you for sharing Serena and I am sorry you are having to go through all of this and very sad for your aunt. My dad had some dementia issues and it is so difficult to see them decline. You are doing the right thing and we enjoy seeing you when we can. Prayers for your family as you navigate this process as it is certainly not easy.
Serena- thank you for sharing your life update. Most of all thank you for taking care of your aunt and being her MPOA. I can see the emotion in your eyes and I understand. I’ve been a nurse for 34 years and counting- I’m 56 now. I had a co- worker who retired at age 70. She was almost immediately diagnosed with lymphoma. She had chemotherapy for it then began to get confused. We thought it was “chemo brain” but it was the beginning of dementia. She had no family left. She never married and had no children. She asked me to be her MPOA. I went through getting her placed, etc. it’s tough. The nursing home staff told me that many people just get dumped there with the clothes on their back and have no one to make decisions for them. This may be my calling in retirement- to help others by being a healthcare surrogate. Again, thank you for what you are doing. Your aunt is so lucky to have you. ❤
That is heartbreaking and what a wonderful calling for you. Something I've thought about doing once I "retire" is work with therapy dogs who visit nursing homes. I'm a huge dog lover, as you know, and my aunt is too. She gets so much joy from my dogs and I would love to be able to share that with the elderly who can't have a pet anymore.
Hello, Serena. Thankyou, for sharing your story with us. I have been in this situation with children at home, work and ailing parents. It has been a journey. Challenging, at times. I am 66 now and share my home with my adult children, 2 young adult grandaughters and a 32 month old greatgrandaughter. Yes, similiar behaviours as your aunt for sure, lol!! Take care of yourself and all your loved ones. We will wait for your return! 🇨🇦❤️
Your aunt is lucky to have you take care of her. Bless you for that. You will make mistakes and lose your temper and nerve sometimes so forgive yourself for not being “perfect”. You will do a wonderful job.
Thank you. My mom was a twin also. I lost my mom to heart failure this year. I helped take care of her. I had to close my little house cleaning business and move in with my parents. I understand your challenges. I will pray for encouragement. It all works out. You won't regret taking care of your aunt. I just really related to your story in many ways. I wasn't able to have a good conversation either because of my mom's health. I don't regret putting part of my life on hold and making some changes to help care for her. I'm home again and starting up my business. Trust God. He will provide and help work everything out. ❤
God Bless you for taking care of your Aunt! My Mom passed away in May of cancer. Taking care of someone you love is the greatest thing you can do, but it is taxing. Don't forget to take care of yourself. Love your videos!
Thank you for sharing. Your a kind hearted person, taking care of aunt. She is so lucky to have you in her life. While it is hard right now, you are giving her a great quality of life and the memories of the good days will always be priceless. ❤
Thank you for sharing. You are a blessing to so many people as well as us, the people who love your channel. Please don’t forget to take care of yourself. If that means stepping back, so be it. We’ll be here when you return. Thanks for all you do.
Bless your heart; we care for my 98 yr old MIL that has dementia. We are thankful that she is still living & kind. Love yr channel & appreciate all the time & effort you put into each video.
Thanks so much. 98 yrs old, wow! I can see my aunt living that long. She is tough as nails, physically. Gets around better than others much younger than her. But her mind is going & it's 😞
Thank you for letting us know about your aunt. So sorry she's going through this. It's a lot a work taking care of someone with dementia, but I think she landed in the right place. You're a great niece!! Take care!!
No apologies necessary for your schedule. God bless you for taking care of your aunt. My family has been hit hard with dementia. I know a lot of what you’re dealing with. ❤️
I know how difficult your caretaking situation is because I just went through it with my 97 year old mother in law. She also had cognitive decline. Bless you and make sure you carve some time into your schedule for your own self care.
Awww you’re such a sweetheart and kind person. Thanks for sharing your journey during your time with your precious aunt. Just love and your videos and you ❤🙏
I do love your new format! And bless you for taking care of your aunt! She is a lovely lady and I can see where you get your beautiful looks! My husband and I cared for my mother the last few years of her life, and she had dementia. Sometimes it was like caring for a very disobedient toddler because while she never forgot that I was her daughter she did forget that I was no longer the toddler! Finally, the last year we had to place her in assisted living and she loved it! And God is so good! She had an old friend she had lost connections with who was also from Oklahoma (we now live in the Dallas, Texas area) who wound up in the same assisted living! It was wonderful for both of them! Anyway, she was there a year and the Lord took her home where she is now with our father who died when I was a child. Forgive me for all that! But you will be incredibly blessed for taking care of your aunt! ❤️🙏🏻
Prayers for you and your dear Aunt. Thank you for helping her. My Mom became certain that I was an enemy during last year of her life. It broke my heart that she wouldn't eve hug me. Blessings...
Love your videos, being in the season of caregiving is the hardest mentally and physically. Thanks for sharing your life and fashion with us. On a technical note, love the old format minus the camera better. Blessings and Prayers to you and your family.
Serena, no need to apologize for caring for your Aunt. How very special of you to be helping her out, she is so blessed to have you in her corner. I took care of my father for several years who declined in such a rapid manner when he was in his early 80’s. It’s a mind blowing burden to care for a loved one. Dad would get so very confused, get his days and nights mixed up and not eat unless you led him to the table. We were fortunate enough to have an adult day care center in our area. What a God send this was before it was time for him to enter a nursing home facility. Sending prayers for your family and in hopes you find the right facility for your aunt.
Nice story of your Aunt’s life. I think you’re wonderful for looking out for her. I also took care of my mother-in-law who has dementia. And it was extremely difficult. I hope you can get the help she’s needs.
I love your hair😊 My 95 year old aunt is in a memory care unit about 45 minutes from where I live. My brother lives about 20 minutes away from her. I visited with her yesterday. We discuss the same things over and over, but she is always so happy to see me. She has beautiful skin and does not look her age. She is the last of my mother’s family to still be living. When she gets lonesome she will call and we will talk on the phone. I was my mother’ and my mother in law’s caregiver.
So sorry to hear about your aunt, it must be very difficult but you're doing a wonderful thing by caring for her!! Thanks for sharing and I will be here for whatever and whenever you post💕💕
Thank you for the video, Serena! I am so sorry to hear about your Aunt having health issues and glad she has you to help. I know it is hard. My Mom was 2 hours away after we moved to Central MS for the longest and I went back & forth ever 11 to 14 days to make sure she was fine until my brother finally got her moved here. I loved having my Mom near me. Please don't worry about your filming as we understand your family comes first. Glad you found some good deals at Nordstrom sale!
Thanks for sharing such a personal story. So many of us, myself included have been caregivers in different situations. Makes you more real to me. Family always come first! Keep the faith, you’ll never regret caring for a family member while possible. God Bless
Thank you for sharing about your personal life….you are an angel to your aunt…my sisters and I are in the process of moving my mother to an assisted living…we know it is the right thing for her but it was a battle…enjoy your videos…you are so real!
I'm facing a battle myself. It's what she needs, but she isn't exactly easy to convince. Bless her, she has no idea how hard it is to care for her. She tries to "help" around the house but it always ends in me doing it bc she can't remember where things are or what to do. And she's very impatient! When she wants something done, she wants it done right now. At night when she goes to bed I feel like me I just put a toddler down. 😩
Do not stress yourself! We will be here when you post. Practice self care and take help! If friends or family want to give you a break…take it! Much love.
You always have great videos and this one didn’t disappoint. I loved your picks from the sale and like a.ways everything looked great on you. I am also dealing with my mom and my mother in law aging and needing help through the golden years in their life. It is tough to watch someone you love deal with memory issues. Good luck finding the right solution for your family. I enjoy watching your videos whenever I see them in my feed. Thanks for sharing your amazing style with us.
Sorry to hear about your mom. It’s very sweet of you to take care of your aunt. You seem to be a very caring person. Hang in there. You’re doing great. Love your channel. The J Crew gold sandals is one of my Best Buy’s this summer.
I really like the black and white button-down! Bless you for helping with your aunt, Serena. My mom's memory is failing her, so I understand the feelings you are experiencing. 🫂
Hi Serena! I’m new here and just loving your channel! My mother just passed away a year ago, and she had dementia and heart problems for many years. I am an only child, so I was the only thing that she had. I quit my full-time job to take care of her for several years until she passed. I know it’s not easy and I would often cry because of the stress and responsibility. The Lord walked me through it all and he’ll walk you through this also.❤️
Taking care of a family member with Dementia is very hard, your Aunt is lucky to have you. I am a caregiver for my son with Autism, which I know is not the same thing at all, but what I do know from experience is that caregiver burnout is a real thing. It's probably why I started watching TH-cam video's, sometimes I just need a break and it's fun to catch up on the latest fashion.
My aunt was also in education and counseling for many years ! She was a very strong personality and when dementia hit her it was a shock for the whole family ! I commend you on getting involved with the next chapter of her life! She is very lucky to have family support! My prayer is things will be better for all of you! 🙏
Serena, you have a lot going on. I appreciate your candor and have experienced my mother dealing with dementia. I will pray for your strength and additional assistance in caring for your aunt.
Sweetie you are an angel I know what you going thru I recently lost my daughter to her childhood disease along with her having brain cancer so may God keep you sane to help your aunt
Thank you for sharing the news Serena. I like all of your hauls. They give me lots of ideas. YOU inspired me to looking into neutral shoes to wear with different outfits. Thank you Serena. 😍
Bless you for taking care of your aunt. My mother lived with me for her last 8 yrs. It was very challenging but again rewarding. I will pray for your aunt and you to get through this.
Blessings to you Serena. I totally understand about having to care for someone in your home. I had both my husband and my mother both bedbound at the same time. Thankfully both of them had no problems with their memories. Hope you can find just the right place for your aunt. You got some nice pieces. I also got the rust colored blazer and cant wait to wear it. Have a great rest of the week.
Oh mercy, I can surely relate. My Dad passed away in February. My Mom has definite memory challenges. I was thankfully able to get them moved to senior living last September. I understand the situation, it’s certainly like having a geriatric toddler 🙃
Hi Serena - prayers for you and your family as you navigate your way through. No apologies necessary....take care of those higher priority items and we will be here for your videos when you are able to get them out there. Also....as we are hanging on in these 90+ degree temps, it is great to see sweaters and dream of cooler days😅. Love that blue one and the blazer as well.
Thanks for your video. How meaningful that you are able to care for your aunt. I am trying to help my recently widowed mother-in-law, and move her to where we live. Its been nearly six months, and I feel like almost no progress has been made. We live thirteen hours away from her, unfortunately.
I’m sorry to hear your family struggle. It’s such a small world. My mother and I were born in Alabama and I still have family in Abbeville. My husband is from North Miami Beach where his sister in law is a teacher. His mother and father lived in Tallahassee. All said, your accent reminds me of my sweet family. I pray for strength for you all.
I'm So Sorry For Your Lost Serena However I'll Be Praying For Your Aunt Lois And Family ,Take Care And Have a Stylish Day And Say Hi Too Your Dogs For Me.!!!!
Bless you for taking care of your Aunt. If you need any help in getting her a placement, call your Congressman's office and ask their advice. They should be able to direct you to the correct resources at least.
I appreciate hearing your story, and what you’re going through. Take good care and I’ll be tuning in to whatever you manage to post! Your channel has really transformed my wardrobe, helping me get rid if a lot and to replace with needed better pieces. And just as much, I truly appreciate your sharing and honesty to keep things in perspective and to stay true to ourselves! Thank you!
Hearing the story of your aunt is so incredible! Young and unafraid with her best friend at her side! What an adventure!! Girls in the 60’s don’t you know they had so much fun in Miami and turned some heads. I help with 3rd graders at my church and that is such a rambunctious and inquisitive age! I am sure she is in good hands and I am praying you find just the right place for her 🙏. I have watched your channel for several years and always look forward to what you feature next. Also want to say; your shorts are just right 😉
Hi Serena, my mother took care of my granny for many years, when I was growing up she lived with us and it was hard on my mom. Remember to take care of yourself!🌷
Thanks for this video, Serena ‼️ Love all of the sale items from Nordstrom 🤩👏🏻 Good luck with caring for your aunt - it is tough, both physically and emotionally, to deal with a loved one with dementia 🥲 Thoughts and prayers for you and your family 🙏🙏🙏 No need to ever apologize for your personal life interfering with your vlogs‼️❤️ Have a good week and try to stay cool with this terrible heat 😮😎🌞🍀💚
How sweet of you to take your aunt, though I know you must lover her a lot!! I had my mom who has stroke induced dementia for 2 years and finally had to find assisted living and now memory care for her because I still had a school age son at home and mom needs constant care... it is sometimes like having another child, no one should feel guilty utilizing assisted living facilities, it can be very overwhelming to care especially with a younger child at home. I wish you and her the best.. my mom is 94 now as of last week!!
Thanks Carolyn. Yes, that's where I am. I still have my 10 yr old at home plus 2 daughters in college. It's a lot. And yes, it's much like a child. Except you can put a child in timeout when they act out and they will learn better behavior. With dementia, it doesn't work like that! I have to tell her every day to not feed my dogs table scraps. She will defy me & do it anyway or lie to my face and say she didn't do it. And she gets really hateful with me when I call her out on it. It's a real problem.
@@StylewithSerena yes, Serena... I understand... I constantly had to tell my mom not to swing her cane at my dog for fear she would hurt her..she didn't listen, or to or not to do any number of things... I had to hold back doing things for my son ie: attending track meets or school functions because I couldn't leaver her unattended... it worked out for the best when I found a beautiful new facility near by...I wish you the best.. XOXO
I love your Aunt's story and commend you for taking care of her. At 55 I pray I never get there. I would never want to be a burden to my children. If so...Put me in a home with my 80's People!!
it falls on us to be caregivers! i retired in 2015 and we spent 7 winters in vegas ( from seattle) which sounds fun. we took care of my mom who died in 2016 then my dad who died last year at 95, giving my brother a break. it is hard work! now we are selling our trailer stuff as my husband has copd. so we do our best!
Life can be so hard! Praying for strength and patience as you work hard to provide a good final chapter for your special aunt. I purchased some of the same items from the Nordstrom sale! Thanks for your great videos. And don't stress about the schedule. I will patiently wait. Also, I think I prefer your normal video method over the mirror and visible camera. I thought the camera got in the way of what I wanted to see. Still loved it, but just think the other way is better. ❤
Serena, just take it easy and take a break. You need to take care of yourself and family, then UTube or work can follow. We'll be here when you return, just chill!
Hi Serena, I certainly understand what you are going through. We had to place my Mom in November for dementia because Dad couldn’t take care of her anymore. She took care of my mentally disabled brother, and I had to place him about a year and a half ago. I take care of all of his medical needs as well as some of some of his other personal needs. Dad has shown signs of cognitive decline as well, and my other brother moved in with him. I can definitely relate to the huge responsibility it is in taking care of the elderly and the cognitively challenged. You are such a great person for helping your aunt! I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I love all the fashion looks. They are all so cute! Thanks for another great video!
God Bless You, Serena! Take whatever time you need because your subs are here with you. Taking care of a loved one is a blessing in so many ways. Compassion is what grounds us. I’ve been there and it’s changed me for the better. Love your finds from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. I’m looking forward to part 2. Take care. 🌼✨🙏💪🏼
Hey Serena. I’m so sorry to hear about your Auntie. Hopefully you will be able to find the right place for her. I think there’s the one facility that’s called. A PLACE FOR MOM. You probably already know about that place. I know that can be very tiring. I understand why you’ve been so busy. God Bless you for doing this for your Aunt. Sounds like a very nice lady. Love the blue v neck sweater from north storm. Good luck & take care. Melba Knoxville Tennessee. 🦋🦋🦋🦋

I took care of my mom in my home for about 7 years, until she passed. It is a lot. No apologies necessary. Just keep being your sweet self ❤

Serena, I admire you for taking care of your aunt…
Take care of yourself too!
You seem like a kindhearted person.
You do what you have to family first we love you and 🙏 for you God bless you
Thanks for sharing such a personal story. So many of us, myself included have been caregivers in different situations. Makes you more real to me. Family always come first! Keep the faith, you’ll never regret caring for a family member while possible.
God Bless
Thank you!
Prayers to you and your family!
Bless your heart and what a blessing you are to your Aunt.
Enjoyed the video, Serena😊 Nice picks that look beautiful on you.
Family first always ❤
Don't you love them??
Great video thank you for sharing😊
Very cute outfits!!
Thank you 😊
Sweetie you are an angel I know what you going thru I recently lost my daughter to her childhood disease along with her having brain cancer so may God keep you sane to help your aunt
Absolutely love this and always love your presentation!!
Thank you so much!
I have been where u are and it is not easy. God Bless you❤
Thank you for sharing the news Serena. I like all of your hauls. They give me lots of ideas. YOU inspired me to looking into neutral shoes to wear with different outfits. Thank you Serena. 😍
Thank you!
Thank you so much!
Thank you for the updates. Our family also touched by dementia. God bless you!
Oh Serena, dementia is such a difficult disease to deal with. You are such an angel to take your aunt in. Sending you love and hugs! xoxo
Thank you once again for being honest. Love the blue sweater!
Thank you Wanda!
I'm So Sorry For Your Lost Serena However I'll Be Praying For Your Aunt Lois And Family ,Take Care And Have a Stylish Day And Say Hi Too Your Dogs For Me.!!!!
My aunt's name is Betty. Lois was her friend.
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your story and being so personable with your viewers ❤
Hearing the story of your aunt is so incredible! Young and unafraid with her best friend at her side! What an adventure!! Girls in the 60’s don’t you know they had so much fun in Miami and turned some heads. I help with 3rd graders at my church and that is such a rambunctious and inquisitive age! I am sure she is in good hands and I am praying you find just the right place for her 🙏. I have watched your channel for several years and always look forward to what you feature next. Also want to say; your shorts are just right 😉
Thank you Carol!
I took care of my grandmother who had Alzheimer’s, and my heart goes out to you.
You’re amazing!! Hang in there!
XOXO
Serena, Thank you for sharing what is going on with you. I will keep your Aunt, you, and your family in my prayers. ❤
Thank you so much!
I love your Aunt's story and commend you for taking care of her. At 55 I pray I never get there. I would never want to be a burden to my children. If so...Put me in a home with my 80's People!!
Yes!!!
It’s very hard to care for someone. She is lucky to have you.
God bless you. Sending love!
it falls on us to be caregivers! i retired in 2015 and we spent 7 winters in vegas ( from seattle) which sounds fun. we took care of my mom who died in 2016 then my dad who died last year at 95, giving my brother a break. it is hard work! now we are selling our trailer stuff as my husband has copd. so we do our best!
I love your hair parted on that side!
Thanks! I'm surprised you noticed the difference. Good eye!
I agree and will be going back to my old format! Just trying something new
It was 100% worth the try! Love your videos so much! I have found them to be so helpful. Thanks for all your hard work!
Take care. 🌼✨🙏💪🏼
God bless you ❤
Thanks Melba!
Hugs and prayers 💕
