As someone who hasn't played Honkai Impact 3, learning about parts of the lore from their interactions, Acheron's backstory and other sources has truly been fascinating. I hope Welt gets explored more. I'm really interested to know how much his role expands based on his HI3 connection.
I'd highly recommend you play HI3, genuinely the best game story I've ever experienced. But only if you have patience, as some chapters are _really_ boring
@@magnashake I've considered it but I don't feel like putting the time into yet another gacha game right now (I'm already accustomed to Genshin and Star Rail). Maybe later on. I do know the game's narrative is amazing though. I've seen much of the animated shorts for characters (Himeko, Otto, Kiana) and read the comments regarding their story/arcs.

You don't need to do any gacha as the story has you play as the characters that involved in the chapter you're playing through. I started it recently and was pleasantly surprised that I didn't need to pull and farm for characters just to do the story
I heavily doubt they explore Welt's character since all his character was fully shown in HI3 main story (Game and manga), there is no piece of his past to be told anymore at this point; only his mission to protect Himeko
Kevin Kaslana went from a regular highschool kid to becoming Humanity's Greatest Hero and the Founder of the New Era and went on to even surpass the HoTE PE. His birth was the greatest gift that Humanity could have ever recieved.
In my opinion the best gift humanity got was both his AND Elysia's birth Elysia's sacrifice gave humanity a small fighting chance and Kevin was the only one with a will strong enough to secure that small chance of victory Ofc I'm not saying other people in PE was not important it's just that, these 2 and Dr. MEI were the most important for humanity's victory
and remind you that if Kevin and Kiana is basically the same MC (only different in gender) they only made them different in HI3, but they we're originally the same person thus why Kevin reached finality and why there's dr. MEI. In conclusion, Kiana might not be in HSR storyline so yean, this is Mei that has no Kiana/kevin

It's not exactly the same. The Project Stigma creates a situation that forces people to awaken Stigma. The Dream World is merely a place to comfort those who can't move forward (awaken Stigma) before they are devoured as part of Stigma. Those who can awaken Stigma will become survivors of the new human civilization. Ena's Dream, on the other hand, is an ideal world, a paradise that helps people according to the idea of Penacony's boss.

What Welt Yang said there is basically that they only succeed because of Kevin's plan on Project Stigma, and without that St Freya still wouldn't find a way to defeat HoTE or might be never. Kevin sacrifices himself and push the boundaries of other strength to achieve that one thin possibility on saving the human civilization, and his plan come with two different outcomes. It's either the worst outcome, which is the sustainability of human civilization without the future, or the best outcome where one transcends the Finality and keep civilization future without Honkai, and both outcomes come with himself as the sacrifice. Kevin never lost the the battle against St.Freya valks, and it never was a battle between kind and evil, it's a battle set by Kevin as the only battle that will decide the best possible outcome for earth. He kept his promised to Flamechaser, and he kept his promise to Elysia.

The thing about Ke🅱️in is that he doesn’t have the privilege to know what’s to come like Kiana. He is basically a sacrifice to ensure Kiana victory. He did everything with all his power with all the fire moth organization, yet still fail in the end. He is a broken man that not only lose his wife, his friend and family but the world as a whole too. He is a broken hero During Kiana’s time he has been break down so much he wants nothing more than to achieve the firemoth final plan to beat Honkai, no matter the cost or reason cause there’s nothing left for him. But him and his colleagues/friends labored didn’t go waste, the new generation pick up where they left off to fight for how he once were. Ke🅱️in never knew that could be achieved… again. But it did, rip Kevin go be with you MEI you deserve the rest. Kiana and her friends will be your new successor as the defender for the beauty of the world.

He became a soldier fighting off the Honkai. Among the Flamechasers, he's ranked first with the codename, "Deliverance", and became the the most powerful warrior of the Previous Era.
He was talking about Kevin Kaslana, he was one of the Flamechasers to fight against Herreschers (basically Emanator power levelled beings in HI3). He lost his Mei and almost the entire Flamechasers

I'm not updated regarding HI3 anymore, can someone tell me what happened to Kevin in the final battle? I sure hope that he didn't meet a bad end (if ever he died)... I love that man so much. He suffered long and so much.... Respect to that guy🔥
Kevin knew that he was playing the villain. He lost to kiana in a final bat swinging battle and died. In the end, Earth was saved, Kevin was probably satisfied.

@@ThatOneOddGuy By "worst outcome", I just mean that her story didn't fare as well as Raiden Mei's in HI3 (case in point, what you said about her Kiana probably not surviving and having to kill Kevin alone). I think the whole Dr. Mei or Raiden Mei thing is irrelevant in Acheron's case. All we're meant to understand is that she's a Mei-like variant in the HSR universe, with similar yet different stories/people (which is technically the case for most of the familiar HI3 characters in HSR). For all we know, there may not have been a 'Dr. Mei' in this universe. My point is don't look into it too much expecting the exact same stories/parallels.

Then may I ask, what proof do you have that he wasn't as strong as Hi3's Kevin? Kevin from Earth isn't a higher dimensional being than Shiraga Oni from Izumo, so you can't outright claim one one is weaker than the other because they are the counterparts of each other

If Kevin from HSR is as strong as Kevin from HI3rd and Acheron managed to defeat him, it wouldn't make any sense at all for HSR's story because Acheron is just an emanator. And also, if we're using that argument, Herrschers are at least on the level of emanators and Kevin one-shots them on a regular basis that his final form literally took 3 beings (Kiana, Mei, Bronya) on almost the same level as him to take him down. This guy throws moon-sized black holes like they're just volleyballs in his final battle. I don't care how strong Acheron is, but she ain't beating that one when her world got burnt to crisp by a black hole

Basically, Honkai Impact's story is about humanity's fight against Honkai (a world ending calamity). The story is divided between the Previous Era that failed and got wiped, and the Current Era the game takes place in. Kevin (the guy Welt is talking about) is one of the few who tried but failed to save the world in the Previous Era, so he decided to help the next era win no matter the cost. His last plan was to do something similar to what Sunday did with Ena's dream, but he was defeated by the main protagonists.
No, it is about Kevin's dialogue, about why do birds flu; "Because they could", or "Because they had to", or simply "Because someone made it first, so they should can too". Star Rail barely has the glidder as reference to Genshin; but Welt literally came from HI3 universe.

Acheron, and Welt, two very similar powerful individuals, yet, two with VERY differing pasts, and philosophical worldviews. Welt's story, back in his home world, tells the tale of a hero's legacy, and how he taught the lesson of how POWERFUL hope can be in the face of hardship. While Acheron's story, tells a tale of despair, and loss, how insignificant, and meaningless everything can be in the face of adversity. Both of their stories speak POWERFUL messages, and touch upon EQUALLY powerful lessons. However, as I like Welt's side of the story, and his worldview perspective on things, especially that man (aka Kevin) that he's referring to back in his world, I feel as though, that one that hasn't experienced, let alone gone through the harsh reality of what it means to truly lose EVERYTHING, let alone feel TRUE despair, the complete absence of hope, can NEVER truly understand what it means to possess REAL hope, let alone TRUE strength, in the face of overcoming challenges that are difficult to overcome, let alone accept. For Welt has never experienced the same kind of hardship Acheron has gone through for him to hold onto any kind of, "hope", when all was lost. Of course, Welt never experienced that same kind of reality that Acheron did, so he can't speak, nor know what it must've been like to experience what it means to have any hope to live for in the first place. P.S. 4:24 - 5:10 That last line that Acheron delivered before answering Welt's question captures her point BEAUTIFULLY. It completely DESTROYED Welt's naive philosophy, and perception on hope. And this is the reason why I absolutely LOVE the emotional depth of her character. It really does feel like Acheron was a survivor who has gone through the MOST hardship out of EVERYONE leading to her growth. Out of ALL the characters in Star Rail, thus far, nobody comes close to Acheron's character.

In your last paragraph you say Acheron destroys Welt’s naive philosophy but I don’t understand why? She merely says that the end of the story is different and that ultimately she sees a void of nothing after reaching the metaphorical light where Welt sees new paths to new metaphorical lights building upon the foundations laid in the past by predecessors reaching previous lights. I don’t see either of them destroying each other’s philosophical beliefs here. Merely two interesting philosophical opinions and observations on reality by two people who have seemingly experienced a lot of what existence has to offer.

I love this because it still is meaningful if you haven’t the faintest idea about what happened in Honkai 3rd, because we’ve seen how Welt approaches the world. And the way this story as it’s told here foreshadows the parts of Penecony’s story still to come.

Meaning her world was unfortunate and welts world was fortunate. So, Acheron could be in reality Mei but a alternative. (Acheron looks similar to Mei but doesn't exactually look like her probably cause of hair style in front and eyes a bit different. But overall looks similar)
Yes, but the line is referencing how in HI3, Mei, Kiana, and Bronya, together along with the support of all their friends (the power of friendship!) defeated Kevin while in Inzumo Acheron was alone in her victory.

What Welt Yang said there is basically that they only succeed because of Kevin's plan on Project Stigma, and without that St Freya still wouldn't find a way to defeat HoTE or might be never. Kevin sacrifices himself and push the boundaries of other strength to achieve that one thin possibility on saving the human civilization, and his plan come with two different outcomes.
It's either the worst outcome, which is the sustainability of human civilization without the future, or the best outcome where one transcends the Finality and keep civilization future without Honkai, and both outcomes come with himself as the sacrifice.
Kevin never lost the the battle against St.Freya valks, and it never was a battle between kind and evil, it's a battle set by Kevin as the only battle that will decide the best possible outcome for earth.
He kept his promised to Flamechaser, and he kept his promise to Elysia.

Kevin knew that he was playing the villain. He lost to kiana in a final bat swinging battle and died. In the end, Earth was saved, Kevin was probably satisfied.

@@ThatOneOddGuy By "worst outcome", I just mean that her story didn't fare as well as Raiden Mei's in HI3 (case in point, what you said about her Kiana probably not surviving and having to kill Kevin alone). I think the whole Dr. Mei or Raiden Mei thing is irrelevant in Acheron's case. All we're meant to understand is that she's a Mei-like variant in the HSR universe, with similar yet different stories/people (which is technically the case for most of the familiar HI3 characters in HSR). For all we know, there may not have been a 'Dr. Mei' in this universe. My point is don't look into it too much expecting the exact same stories/parallels.

Kevin from Earth isn't a higher dimensional being than Shiraga Oni from Izumo, so you can't outright claim one one is weaker than the other because they are the counterparts of each other

If Kevin from HSR is as strong as Kevin from HI3rd and Acheron managed to defeat him, it wouldn't make any sense at all for HSR's story because Acheron is just an emanator.
And also, if we're using that argument, Herrschers are at least on the level of emanators and Kevin one-shots them on a regular basis that his final form literally took 3 beings (Kiana, Mei, Bronya) on almost the same level as him to take him down. Basically, Honkai Impact's story is about humanity's fight against Honkai (a world ending calamity).
The story is divided between the Previous Era that failed and got wiped, and the Current Era the game takes place in.
Kevin (the guy Welt is talking about) is one of the few who tried but failed to save the world in the Previous Era, so he decided to help the next era win no matter the cost.
His last plan was to do something similar to what Sunday did with Ena's dream, but he was defeated by the main protagonists.

I nearly fell asleep listening to this filler dialogue
Acheron, and Welt, two very similar powerful individuals, yet, two with VERY differing pasts, and philosophical worldviews. Welt's story, back in his home world, tells the tale of a hero's legacy, and how he taught the lesson of how POWERFUL hope can be in the face of hardship. While Acheron's story, tells a tale of despair, and loss, how insignificant, and meaningless everything can be in the face of adversity. Both of their stories speak POWERFUL messages, and touch upon EQUALLY powerful lessons. However, as I like Welt's side of the story, and his worldview perspective on things, especially that man (aka Kevin) that he's referring to back in his world, I feel as though, that one that hasn't experienced, let alone gone through the harsh reality of what it means to truly lose EVERYTHING, let alone feel TRUE despair, the complete absence of hope, can NEVER truly understand what it means to possess REAL hope, let alone TRUE strength, in the face of overcoming challenges that are difficult to overcome, let alone accept. For Welt has never experienced the same kind of hardship Acheron has gone through for him to hold onto any kind of, "hope", when all was lost. Of course, Welt never experienced that same kind of reality that Acheron did, so he can't speak, nor know what it must've been like to experience what it means to have any hope to live for in the first place.
P.S.
4:24 - 5:10 That last line that Acheron delivered before answering Welt's question captures her point BEAUTIFULLY. It completely DESTROYED Welt's naive philosophy, and perception on hope. And this is the reason why I absolutely LOVE the emotional depth of her character. It really does feel like Acheron was a survivor who has gone through the MOST hardship out of EVERYONE leading to her growth. Out of ALL the characters in Star Rail, thus far, nobody comes close to Acheron's character.

In your last paragraph you say Acheron destroys Welt’s naive philosophy but I don’t understand why? She merely says that the end of the story is different and that ultimately she sees a void of nothing after reaching the metaphorical light where Welt sees new paths to new metaphorical lights building upon the foundations laid in the past by predecessors reaching previous lights. I don’t see either of them destroying each other’s philosophical beliefs here. Merely two interesting philosophical opinions and observations on reality by two people who have seemingly experienced a lot of what existence has to offer.
