    Like the POV camera. That take on the wind drift, I almost felt it. Great job Don.

    Great tutorial Don. What I really like about this video is the static p.o.v onto the lake surface and to the bobber, er, indicator...It is exciting to see the hit and the bobber go down. Of course don't need to do away with the cameraman forever, it's just that the viewer really doesn't get to see so many strikes. I hope we see more of this camera technique and your tips and tricks. You and Brian Chan offer us a great deal of experience. Thanks again...I'm dying to get up-country for what will be my second long lakes tour. Will June 15th be the day?

      Thx for the comment Wayne and yes, we will be focusing on more ‘static’ shots this film season. There is always a good and bad to not having a camera crew and this new camera view is popular. Tight lines, Don

    I like the movement you put into your fly.I used to fish a chironimid relatively static,or I'd swing it in the lake current.The fish don't seem to mind when you strip it in.Got one of the biggest fish one day dragging a chironimid/bobber from a belly boat moving to another place. hmm.

      @SFOTF  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, giving the Chironomid some motion works well, especially when it dead calm.

    Another great video. I’m always learning from your tricks and tips. I’ll give that heavier leader a try for sure this coming spring. I’m just wondering whether you’ve ever considered a segment of fishing the N. Thompson when you’re up in the Kamloops area with Brian and Dale.

      Yes, we have talked about fishing the North Thompson so maybe this season 😊👍

    I can see using heavier line for a bobber, but I just go with 8 lb Chameleon to my swivel then 6lb. I was told tapered leaders are for river fishing as they don't hang straight down?

    • @SFOTF
      @SFOTF  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s also works great. Tapered leaders will hang straight if they are straightened correctly before use. The swivel and fly will also help keep it straight

    So your 12lb leader is self made not tappered

    • @SFOTF
      @SFOTF  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometime I’ll use straight Fluoro but mostly use heavy (12 to 14lb) store bought tapered leaders then to my 8lb to the swivel and then 3x to 5X to the fly depending on the size fly and/or fish.
