- I decided to try Jheri curl juice on my hair and PYT Squad, I was in for an awakening. At first, I was not impressed but the minute I added the ecostyler gel, my life changed and I will be adding Luster's S-Curl Wave and Gel Activator to my regimen. The combination of products gave me the BEST wash and go I've ever had. I am SHOOK! 🤯🤯🤯

In the eighties we processed it chemically,then you had to use the activator. I remember the shower caps people used to have on in public. I also remember the damage caused to sheets and pillows. Also the jeri curl damaged hair. We are much smarter now. You use the gel on your natural hair which is already curly. No need to use a chemical to process the hair

The curl activator in the bottle is for added moisture after your curls are defined and dried after using the curl jel only.

I have used this for 40 years and the trick to prevent sticky is not use sooo much and ,to keep it off your clothes I stuff at night wear a silk/satin bonnet. Old skoolers wear a shower cap under scarf/bonnet for extra moisturization. Yup ur curls are juicy👍👍😊😊😊😊

Jheri Curl was a perm back in the early ‘80’s. The products were used to enhance and moisturize the curls. I don’t miss the dripping or sticky buildup. Your hair looks nice. I don’t miss that stuff.
It seems like they reformulated it. I like how defined it makes my curls. My curls were very moisturized but it takes forever to dry. 🤍🤍🤍
You will never have to worry about moisture with these products. I've thrown everything else out!

I use the Proclaim Activator gel & S Curl for waves. Loving my hair, again! And, I convinced my daughter to go chemical free & try this. She’s long her natural curls & moisturized hair.

Yeah, a three hour process and $75.00 when all I need is clean wet hair and $1 to 5. styling gel for great hair that is not wet and drippy greasy hair. Except the product I use Lusti argon twist lock gel When it dries no stickiness.

I know you commented this 10 months ago, but does it flake with the eco pink gel? I used the Eco olive oil gel and although I loved the curl the flakes made be back away for a while. I'm looking for a gel the won't flake with the s curl.

The soul glow lol! I did this a few days ago and just posted a video on my channel. I used the s curl gel and the wet line. I got lots of definition, but my hair was SO WET, nonstop dripping, and sticky lol!

Looks great. S-curl, Wave Nuevo and CareFree have been around a while and used of course on curly perms but on natural hair (curly or not) for moisture. I've used them in the 80's on my hair to moisturize my curls a few times. I have been using S-Curl gel for the last 4 months because where I was shopping at the spray moisturizer was gone and so was Care Free. But, I used the gel and a little eco style but it was not sticky. It might be because you used all 3 products. Also, have you tried Cantu's Coconut curling creme? It works great on curly locs. Your hair I see has visible curls and if you don't use as much water while using a curl activator product with a moisturizer...i think you may see a difference. And again....your hair looks great!!💕

I don't think you need the spray. The jheri curl gel and ecostyler gel should be enough. I only put olive oil on my hair right before I apply those and it dries soft, bouncy and not sticky. But I use the Carefree activator, not S-Curl. Regardless, your hair looked fantastic! And I felt exactly like you, this was game changer for me, completely. Thank you for sharing your results.

The stickiness is from the Eco styling gel. Try it without and just use the curl activator gel. Try the S-Curl wave and curl activator gel. It's clear and thicker

I guess I am one of few people who are "shook" by the power of these products. My birth mom had a Jheri Curl from the late 70's until her death in '96. Her hair always had light and full curls/waves. As an adult, she had only ever let two people touch her hair: her hairstylist and me (towards the end of her life). Her hair was never juicy or drippin, lol.
Ohhh makes sense. Sorry about the loss of your mom. I guess I thought I had to have the curly perm first for the Lusters products to work so I was surprised when it worked on my natural hair.
@@SashieETV oh no you definitely dont need the Jheri chemical...it's kind of in between a relaxer and a perm. The juice and activator just defines the waves and keeps it hydrated.

Good job. From my memory that's the glycerin which is sticky... because it was too keep the Curl moisturized. My aunt had her own shop and did tons of jheri curls and I remember being in the shop watching everything. I never got one thank goodness... funny how they have made a come back.

If I'm not mistaken Jheri curl is a form of a relaxer/texturizer which means it can permanently alter your natural hair. So please be mindful of that. Products like this was very popular in the 80's and some of the 90's before the natural hair movement kicked in.

Your hair looks really nice. I tried it and my wash and go was the best I've ever had. It lasted for about 10 days and it could have lasted a little longer, but I wanted to try a mousse and gel wash and go. I'll stick with the S Curl moisturizer and jel and eco gel. I tried the Scurl activator moisturizer spray, clear activator and the Scurl styling gel that combo same line and it works within 10 mins. Except it doesn't dry it stays moisturized NO FLAKES.. I personally didn't need an off brand gel..(no eco styler) give the activator a few minutes to Activate works like a breeze. Super definition bounce and curl everytime.
Ohhhhhh I gave it all of 1 minute before I slapped the Ecostyler gel in my hair 😂😂😂. Is your texture similar to mine?

Today is May 13th, 2022. You are using the wrong Jeri curl activator cream, you should have used carefree curl activator cream. I started using that when my hair started growing back from having breast cancer twice and it really curl up my little bit of fuzz on my head as it's growing back and now I have added the cantu products with it.
My grandma used to do that. She had loose curls though. Don’t think it would work on my texture though. I’m truly 4c.

I used the moisturizer spray and the eco gel only. You can get rid of that Jheri curl gel. Also you don’t need to use the water spray if your hair is damp because the moisturizer spray is mostly water and glycerin. It will give you moisturizing hair for days and take some of the crunch out of your hair from the gel. You hair looks amazing. Thanks for sharing

Sis... have you tried okra gel? You wont be disappointed honestly. The slip is amazing and no shedding. Also its not sticky and it holds.

@@SashieETV Big Luther, back in the day, didn't curl quite right...and neither did mine. My head was TOO SORE TO TRY. A curl, is still a curl...even when it,, does-n't swirl.
Patience activator works with less than half of what you used. There is no need to add anything else with it, less is better. Activator has alcohol in it and when adding more products with alcohol it too much for your hair. Activator has been known to grow your hair as well. I would advise you to deep condition your hair with a mixture of avocado and sour cream first.

I PLAN ON TRYING THIS.. HER HAIR TEXTURE IS NOT 4. ITS ACTUALLY A 3C....3a 3b 3c are classified as curly hair.. 4a looks like a curl pattern but it's not. 4b is like cotton and 4c is the most kinky hair texture.. hope this helps.. great video.

Actuall her hair is type 4. I think 4a. Type 4 hairs are the curliest hair of all hairs to the point that you would call it coily like a spring. Type 3 hairs are looser.
