Disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein this month pleaded not guilty to a new sex crime charge in New York. The new indictment comes in the runup to Weinstein’s retrial on rape and sexual assault charges after his 2020 conviction in the state was overturned by the New York Court of Appeals. I just read/viewed a video of him in NYC Bellevue Hosp. for heart surgery then in ICU post surgery for days not in critical cond. then sent back to Rikers. Also read that he had an appeal that turned the decision on one of the charges from 2020.

@Bela D - this Guteriez model from Italy got one million dollars for Weinstein reaching up her skirt and touching her breasts. My wife said that woman really won the lottery. One million dollars for just Weinstein reaching up her skirt and touching her breast. My wife just wished it could have been her. She said do you know what a difference one million dollars would make in her life of working 2 crap heartless minimum wage jobs 16 hours a day just to be able to buy food and gas and pay rent. My wife said She would let Weinstein do that in a second if she could get one million dollars for it. Then she could quit working 16 hours a day for 2 mean heartless bosses and not have to worry about having money for us to eat. Plus she said she is sure Weinstein is a gentleman compared to the two bastards she works for. She says why couldn’t it have been me with Weinstein instead of a so called model from Italy with a 70 year old sugar daddy. My wife needed the money a lot more than the model who got the one million dollars who probably had plenty of money anyway from modeling. Plus that Italian model is still giving interviews about it and probably get paid plenty of money for those interviews. She probably gets paid more for just one interview than my wife makes in a month.

@Bela D Well there can be an explanation to that. Trump and Clinton might have been players, doing stuff rather playfully well knowing they are doing wrong but it wouldn't install the kind of utter fear one would experience being raped by a bully. The threat must surely come across very intense and it might block someone from taking any steps. It happens so much. My older sister suffered severe dv and never told anyone, she got murdered in the end.
That being said, i was abused by women and understand quite well that there's indeed also a big chance things are as you say. Anti socials are opportunists and if that is what they are they will definitely grab that opportunity for their own gain. It can get them attention and money. So i respect your view.

Only one woman was actually physically assaulted against her will, and even after begging her again to come up to his room, he still does not forcefully pull her into his room and actually rape her, he instead frustratingly tells her goodbye. I used to be an actress back in the 70's and 80's. A person I knew at the time said 'Cyndi, you're not the type of girl who would be willing to spend 23 hours a day on her knees. You're too nice a girl for that. I'm not saying you couldn't do it, you could, but you would not like it and that's what they have to do.'
I don't like admitting that he was right...but, he was. Also, everybody knew what this monster was. Everyone. They knew about 'Cosby' too. NBC knew and covered it up because he had the #1 show on TV. I know for a fact that girls were warned against him because 'we tell the nice girls to stay away from Mr Cosby'. Eventually the truth is revealed. Better late than never. It's very sad what this filth gets away with because of money...the whole system covers for them. Once empowered, surrounded by loyal sociopath underlings, with organizational and personal resources--they become difficult to assail, nearly unaccountable. Women such as those abused by Harvey simply need to swallow their laughable feminist pride, admit they can't lead or organize effective resistance, and find a man who can lead and organize against such abusers. Feminism and its illusions have made women easier prey than ever to the Harvey-monsters of the world.

I remember a story of Oprah with a young woman who wanted to be an actress, it even showed a short tape of this. Then Harvey walks out to surprise the young woman who was of course caught off guard and very excited because he was going to give her a shot at stardom. Oprah was all smiles and she had to have heard the stories going around about his behavior being a powerful person herself but remained his friend until at least the allegations were proven to be true. I don’t know about now but has certainly distanced herself from him never mentioning his name. I just wonder whatever happened to that poor young woman Oprah set her up with meeting this POS. I truly believe that this is what happens when people get too much money and too much power. They have enough money to buy anything and they start to get bored, so they start looking towards untouchable people and situations in order to fulfill cravings of having everything at any cost. Which I imagine, turns into an obsessive pursuit of anything they deem they can’t have or can’t do. Which includes sexual misconduct, and I am wondering how many times that that obsession turns into… I wonder what it would be like to kill somebody? With a never ending appetite to experience everything and anything that a human being can, both good and bad, simply for the fact of feeling it, doing it and seeing it. Feeling as if their money and power puts them above any suspicion.
It’s crazy and you can see that most of these people that have that money and power obviously have a horrible case of obsessive compulsive disorder, along with narcissistic personalities that got them where they are. Which I imagine, only grow worse with the more money and more power they possess. The good thing is, one by one they are being caught. Epstein and Weinstein, have been called out by their peers which created a domino effect, not only in the entertainment industry, but all industries. Giving women and men who have experienced these situations the bravado to step out and talk about their own stories. Which is an awesome thing.

@@victoriabernuth9728 I appreciate that. Yeah, I’m sure there’s different circumstances that can cause different people to act this way. I do notice though, that money, and power can drive people to do stupid things just for the sake of being able to do stupid things. What they don’t understand is that they would feel so much better and happier if they took some of that money, like the people you talked about above… And helped others out. I love giving a homeless person $20. Why? Because I love to see smiles on peoples faces. the thing is, I don’t care what they spend it on. If they go and buy drugs, and they are happy for those few minutes, they are high… That’s their prerogative and if that’s what makes them happy, then, so be it. It’s not my position to tell them how to spend that money. I would much rather they buy food, or use it to better their situation… But, as long as they’re happy, I don’t care. Nothing tickles me more than to get a reaction that I wasn’t expecting from one of these people. Whether that be a big hug, big smile, or they go out of their way to thank me. I even had one guy go and get himself something to eat at the local convenience store and took some of the money that I gave him to get me a thank you card. which made me smile, but also made me cry that he went out of his way to do so.
The feeling that anybody can get from helping anybody do anything is much more incredible than any amount of money. Almost like winning a happiness lottery. Sometimes letting me know that there are still good. People left in this world amongst this fast, rat race, social media driven society we live. It’s easy to get discouraged, because sometimes you try to help and it backfires. Some people seemingly born to be hateful and negative. But every once in a while, you come across that shining star that makes the hard times you go through worth it.
I wish you the very best and as I say to anybody who will listen: live life every day like it’s your last, love like it’s your first.

He did the same thing to the girls at the next two registers. We all looked at each other in shock but said nothing. This was long before sexual abuse on the job was addressed in 1980. We felt young and powerless. I recently mentioned it to my family when the Weinstein case came up. They were absolutely shocked!
The only thing I am happy about is that women can now report sexual abuse on the job. It was degrading to be subjected to this middle aged man's abuse, just out of college.

He'd left miramax to join Bob and Harvey when they left. After visiting his NYC office the first time, I was shocked to see that so many people in that office were terrified of them. Absolutely dreading seeing either man. Ethan told me everyone walks on egg shells because they are beyond unhinged. They loved him because he was awesome at negotiating great ratings and made them countless millions, but other than that, you were dirt under their shoes. As a worker (retired) for social care in the UK, we had to do annual courses to keep up to date with changes in the law. One of the courses was about all abuse covering children and adults. It was drummed into us that abuse had to be reported, silence was not an option and, if found out, the enabler was also in trouble. If abuse was suspected, it over-took confidentiality and the safe guarding teams and police, if required, took over the cases.

We do have laws protecting people from abuse and coercive behaviour. Those caught are serving prison time, those who did not do their duty often lost their jobs. If all the services work together it would be better. I will also mention the general public, if something is not right, if a crime is being committed or about to be committed, we have a duty to report it. Silence is not an option, staying silent helps the abuse to continue.

From the start of human history, strong and powerful men, (sorry it is usually men) have taken advantage and exploited the young, weak vulnerable and naive.
This enabled people like Epstein, who had access to girls and young women all his adult life, that's 40 years, to continue his abuse of tens of thousand American girls. An even more extreme example is Marilyn Monroe dying (allegedly of an OD) almost immediately after of her sleeping with John and Bobby Kennedy. Even with out money and power, there will still always be predators. It's the law of the jungle.

Disgusting and dirty. That’s what that man looked like to me from the get-go. And he got creepier and creepier looking the older he got. Funny eh? People that would normally be repulsed by his appearance, fought the urge to run because he had such power. Story of the world really.

yep, when they know you are rich and famous you can do whatever you want to them (because they go along with it and consent), then later they want to retroactively revoke consent and sue for $$$$$$$ I mean who is the victim here?

And yet they went back to his private hotel when no other casting directors do that ..and should have sent them packing immediately 🤔 regret is a nasty thing and has a way of twisting history for some..so interesting

He's a slimeball no doubt. But Hollywood gives you that enticement to abuse your money power, But Sean Young stood up to this bozo and got blacklisted, but I respect her and others like her that didn't sell out to be in movies.

@@mcentepede its a way of life in hollywood. You think weinstein is the only one that traded favor for affection? All the big shots in hollywood do.

The casting couch has been around since forever. A lot of women and even men have been to hell and back. Hollywood never was a clean place to be nor will it ever be i think. Sad beyond sad
