here's an idea, something that makes a good sim fantastic is walking, what if they properly added all the doors onto smaller airplanes (not the large airbuses or 747, you're a pilot not a baggage handler) maybe you can put the stars down on the Cessna Citation and walk around, maybe perform a preflight checkup, but you could only walk 20 meters from the plane before you would hit an invisible wall so people don't end up walking around the world, open some of the luggage doors, and then when you are ready to go you can close the doors, climb up the stairs, and walk around the interior, have some champagne in goblets of ice, maybe a couple people in suits as your passengers, then go up to the cockpit and start flying, maybe as your flying people can join in on your plane and start walking around, or sit down and look out the window, you don't have to be a pilot in order to fly, seems like the seats are modeled very well, seems wasteful not to have that.

Maybe I am a bit picky on this, but Flight Rules are not equal to navigation or weather conditions. As the names tell, they are basically rules what is allowed and what isn't. They regulate when to contact which ATC, which weather conditions and cloud clearences have to be met. Of course, IFR uses primarily Instrument Navigation (but visual approaches are possible remaining IFR (!)), and VFR can be done using only sight. But there is no problem in using navigational Aids (flight above overcast clouds is allowed in VFR). One of the most important differences is, who is in charge for avoiding traffic conflicts and terrain clearence. IFR ATC, VFR Pilot by see and avoid. And this is, why it is not allowed to enter clouds VFR. Because the pilot can't see other traffic. Not because of the pilot having no clue about instrumentation.
You are correct Daniel. I will add though, that in addition to not seeing other traffic when flying VFR into the clouds, most pilots will have trouble controlling the aircraft if they lack instrument training. You may already know that, I am just pointing that out for others. The correct term Obsidian is looking for is called "pilotage", where you navigate using only the terrain and landmarks. Technically, VFR flight worked fine in older sims. However, since there was much terrain to look at, I found it rather boring, so most of what I did was IFR practice. I eagerly look forward to the visuals in FS2020. Anyway, we know what OA meant by VFR, and I am glad for these video updates.
The main reason for the ability to load flightplans in to the simulator is not so simmers can share, it is so that you can use sites like simbrief to pre build a flightplan and load it into the sim, either before you begin or onto your fmc
Not sure what you mean by "hard IFR" but we have full IFR capability in the sim we have now. So yes, it will. Visibility can be zero in flight sim now.
Funny how the graphics of the nav panels at 3:23 are pretty much the same exact graphics the original flight simulator had, and now look where were at!
I hope this game sparks a new genre of exploration games. Especially in times of COVID, it'd be nice to have game where you can just fly around, drive around, walk around, various cities or the wilderness, you know? I know it's a flight simulator first and while I'm very excited for that, I think the whole 100% realistic world map is groundbreaking that I hope will shape future games.
I absolutely love the details on this game but I have no realistic flight experience. I think one of the things that could bring a lot of people like me on board with this game would be a pilot training course where you can learn all the flight controls at your own pace before moving on to a more advanced plane with more controls and indicators. Possible even following the real world pilot licensing scheme.

That is a game changer. Superb!
Oh man I really just cant wait for the release.
I hope the clouds allow hard IFR. I still haven't seen that in the videos. Also, what about turbulence? Will it have real air movement?
Not sure what you mean by "hard IFR" but we have full IFR capability in the sim we have now. So yes, it will.
Visibility can be zero in flight sim now.
Is hard IFR flying into a mountain?
@@o.s.h.4613 Are you saying turbulence but not moving air?
@@martinw245 I imagine zero visibility would be the only way to make this run smoothly on a "normal" rig, lol!
@@JimSefton Lol... from what they say it runs well on pretty average rig's.
Let's hope it's true.
Your voice is so nice and soothing
AirforceProud just eagerly waiting...
Great video! LOL. Your voice sounds just like Jason Statham!!
I'm just anticipating the 2020 comms trolling by GroundPound69
Fact: The Japanese found Pearl Harbor based on ADF (tuning into a honolulu radio station) and following the direction
That is why they need to include battles in the game!
how did they fly back to their carriers after the attack ?
@@wong2230 You just fly back on a reverse azimuth i.e go back the way you came.
Wow that is just spectacular
I like the fact that the buttons work and I like the flight planner, but the atc looks basically the same as the original atc
Very educative, thanks for sharing.
never seen ant oh so excited for a game.. this game sneezes and ant does a video on it :)
FS 2020 videos draw a lot of clicks because of the eye candy, that's why
@@Rogue_Six I wouldn't call accurately representing earth/weather/vfr flying eye candy, I'd call it realism.
It would be fun if DCS got involved, so that I could strafe a few selected properties with Gau 88 cannon fire 😂
DCS sceneries are crap.
@@piloto_loco better than xplane ones
GOD THE HYPE IS SO FUCKING EXCITING
when ur pc’s fan starts to turn into a plane engine from the graphics
ohhhh so that's the 'realistic real time' simulator all along
I absolutely love the details on this game but I have no realistic flight experience.
I think one of the things that could bring a lot of people like me on board with this game would be a pilot training course where you can learn all the flight controls at your own pace before moving on to a more advanced plane with more controls and indicators. Possible even following the real world pilot licensing scheme.
Can't freaking wait
Amazing. Some of these cockpits are familiar since I am an airline aircraft mechanic
