And this is why I shop at dollar stores and thrift stores for craft pieces! You did an awesome job, glad I stumbled upon your video.

Wow. Really cool. I'd shop my dollar store more if they got neat stuff like this. As it is, I scratch build mostly or use old model kits.

I'd recommend adding a burnt sienna undercoat to any areas that you're going to paint bronze or gold. This should help to reduce the number of coats you have to apply with your metallic paints.

Nice! You could probably even make a dice tower out of the 5-dollar store tower thingy...if one was so inclined.
I kept thinking about the other, other meaning of 'Wizard's Tower' and snickered to myself like Beavis and Butthead every time it was said. This is why I cannot have a youtube channel. 😜

TH-cam recommended this video to me, and I'm so glad it did! There are a bunch of Dollaramas near me; you have me thinking that I should try something like this myself. :)

Hey, thanks very much! Glad to hear it. Its definitely worth checking out - they had a bunch of different towers, with different shapes.

Nice cheap build, you build solid good pieces, you should trust yourself more. you hit on something with the lighthouse that could be a potential terrain piece annnd you could make it greco-roman styled to fit your campaign world...maybe even have a colossus guadian

Looks really great. If you sprinkle a really light green or yellow fine flock on the moss, from above it, right after you apply it (before it dries) it will give it a natural highlight and break up the green a bit

Wow, that's a lot better than... what was that supposed to be, a bird house? Pft. Woulda fallen apart in a week.
I really like the rock bottom blending into the tower itself. It looks complicated but having watched you do it, it doesn't seem hard at all. Amazing what you can do with bright pink foam and a cheap wood thing from a dollar store!
edit: DAD JOKES NOOOOO i am ded

It's a great way to use up foam scraps from old projects.

I really like the look of the tower in the rock.
Personally I would have only painted the center round bit bronze. The whole top piece in bronze is too much for me. I may have done the spiky parts with the gems in a gun metal or something. Just a personal taste thing.

Love the flower tuft growing out of the wall halfway up. Very “fuck you, I grow where I want.” Most realistic thing of the whole build, really. 😂

@@dungeonsanddrybrushing I’ve seen a couple of D&D dice towers on TH-cam…. But if you were to take that and cut 2 disks at an angle and glue them in so they bounce off q then the other then out an opening in the base that’ll work. You’re tower would totally knock peoples socks off if you roll up to the table and drop you’re dice through it.

So what dollar store specifically? Cause I'd be interested in finding that

    • @dungeonsanddrybrushing
      @dungeonsanddrybrushing  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

This was from a chain called Dollarama. Many of them carry the same stock though, so there's definitely a chance of finding it other places.

    Not bad!
It looks ok, but I would have done just a couple of things differently. I mean it looks good enough to be background terrain, but if I were to make this, this is what my hindsight tells me.
Firstly I would have sawed of the top dome, extended it up a little with cardboard, glued the dome back on and added a small door to access the roof. The main door at the bottom, I would have cut it into the foam you glued behind it. Finally I would have used smaller stone bricks with less gap between them. This is what I would do differently if I was to build it- after all of this, it still looks fine to put on the table.
