    Update will work with BMPCC4k, the motor on the right can be used on the opposite side, which will work without needing counter weights, however access to some of the ports will be limited or need small right angle adapters to access.

    This is by far the best video I've found for setting up the gimbal in the shortest amount of time. 30 minutes from delivery to using the gimbal. Lots of fine tuning and learning curve still needed of course but this is the video you want to watch if your looking for clear, simple and accurate set up demo.

    I would love a tutorial about the timelapse features of the Weebil Lab. More specifically does it support the move-shoot-move functionality similar to the Moza AirCross. To my understanding it is the only gimbal that supports 'proper' timelapse functionality.

    It looks like the creator kit includes a small adapter to convert the bottom part of the handle from a screw-release to a quick-release. Do you know if that adapter will be sold separately? I don't want to have to buy the entire creator kit just to get the adapter.

    I have the Sony a6400 with 18-105mm. Do you think it is ok that the plate pushes the camera lens?
    I feel that the plate needs to be screwed a little bit more in order to stay in place and that somehow pushes the lens upwards

  • @mauibuilder1239
    @mauibuilder1239 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Thanks for the video. It's important to note that if you use lenses that are heavier and longer that forces the camera back (without counterweights like can be mounted on the Crane 2) causing the camera roll axis arm to hit on the top of the camera eyepiece when attempting to go into sling mode which is the main reason people would buy this gimbal other than portability. Also the design dimensions while small, may make it difficult to store in a camera back laying on its side like the Crane 2 unless you have a thick camera bag. I would like to know if the Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 would balance properly and allow sling mode....if not, lighter primes will have to do.

    • @chungdha
      @chungdha  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I dont have every camera and lenses to test for obvious reasons, but you can go to local Zhiyun dealers asd shops where you can test combinations before you purchase.

    Why hasn’t this been marketed for DSLR’s as well as the Mirrorless as it has a 3kg payload which is more than enough for most DSLR set up? Am I missing something. It’s about the same payload as the Crane 2.

    • @mauibuilder1239
      @mauibuilder1239 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to look at more than payload...lens to camera weigh balance is critical too. I would check with Jason Wong's video...some of the faster zooms like the Sony 16-35 GM get too heavy for smooth footage and balancing. Also, the farther back the camera has to be moved for balancing, the greater chance the roll motor arm will hit on the top of the camera eyepiece preventing sling mode.

    Hi Chungdha, thanks for your video. I own it myself as well, but can you explain the part "we dont need to be actually able to hold the position in a diagonal way", I have this problem as well. Is it able to balance in roll axis? I've heard because of the diagonal roll axis, so Ronin S cant do it as well, isn't it?

    • @chungdha
      @chungdha  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It just need to be balanced that its horizontal, any gimbal roll axis can't really balance like the tilt to hold it position. The rest just need to be holding it horizontal.

  • @joehuds0n

    This looks like an incredible gimbal. Can you say if the follow focus motor is strong enough to work on a zoom ring instead of focus (so for example the operator can rely on AF and use the gimbal to control zoom, thus opening up the possibility for vertigo zoom effect)? Obviously different lens zoom rings will have different levels of resistance, but can you say if something like the Sony 24-70GM lens would work, with the follow focus motor attached to the zoom ring? Thanks :)

    • @chungdha
      @chungdha  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    A critical difference between the two LAB gimbals, is that the WEEBILL oddly neglects to let you adjust the X-axis (i.e., left-to-right) at the important arm joint rather than just at the camera baseplate. Whereas, the CRANE LAB (and all other CRANEs) let you adjust the X-axis by loosening a thumbscrew, then sliding the whole arm left-and-right until you balance correctly.
    Because of the WEEBILL's inability to balance the X-axis fully, it appears to be totally incompatible (even after using a base plate extender, if necessary) with the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K's wide berth, just to cite one example.

      That is only crazy camera its not compatible with but almost all dslr and mirrorless works, just BMPCC4k is only one that needs to add a counterweight clamp to work.

    • @focuspulling
      @focuspulling 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you're overlooking what I mentioned in detail; a counterweight would not help because the adjustment needs to occur critically at the arm joint rather than at the base plate.
      The point isn't whether the WEEBILL works with "almost all" cameras, but rather, solid information about how it doesn't work with some cameras -- unless you're promoting Zhiyun with bias (and I won't assume that you necessarily are).

      @@focuspulling Honestly testing most setups and cams only camera that got an issue is the new BMPCC4k as the rediculas wide shape of the camera, but max size dslr that works are 5d4 with 24-70mm f2.8 which isnt that light of a setup, however will have limited tilt and cant go into underslung due to the heavy lens the camera sits far back, but with 5d4 with lighter lenses wont be an issue. 1dxii is too much. However the weebill can handle 3kg max weight they dont really advertise it works with all BMPCC4k and mainly aimed more for vloggers and travelers and mainly aimed for entry level dslr user and most mirrorless users, I have tested the weebill with the newest EOSR and Nikon Z7 and both also works. Even ok NX1 works. BMPCC4k just odd one out due to the odd wide shape and be better off on the Crane 2. The weebill sits under the Crane 2 and more replacing the Crane m up to the Crane plus area and not the Crane 2.

      If the Weebill balances the BM Pocket 4K and Panasonic 12-35... it will instantly become the number 1 gimbal in the world. If you can pls do try that setup. Thanks a lot.

    This is sick. It needs more time to balance. Whatelse more if you add the accessories for creator package, you need to balance again. I feel so aick in balancing this gimbal. Its not a pick and go gimbal. I have no patience in balancing everytime you will use the gimbal

      Many reviews are pretty much first time gimbal users who didnt read instruction or first time zhiyun product users, they either didnt balance think direct mount and turn on and some have not set motor strenght in the gimbal as they came from other gimbal brands.
