You did a marvellous job watercoloring your flowers 🌺 👍🏻 That is a beautiful palette and I absolutely love that little box. So freaking cute! It needs to be displayed somewhere in your craft room!🥰😘🤗☺️
@@ColorfullyOptimistic I mentioned this in my other comment, but it floored me that Masha's Bright Yellow was actually more vibrant and the granulation was more intense than the Schmincke Volcano Yellow that I just purchased.
Wow that palette is state of the art from head to toe! I don't see myself committing to it, but your review is so good I almost feel like I've been swatching it myself.your swatch is Stunning!
Also, I got the Volcano set of super granulating watercolor from Schmincke and the Bright Yellow from Masha and Masha's yellow is actually much more vibrant and the granulation is much more intense than the Schmincke one! I was shocked. This lady is super talented. She's also SUPER responsive to messages and super nice.
PY40, which is the granulating yellow used in these paints, is Aureolin or Cobalt Yellow and is horribly impermanent, unfortunately. It literally turns grey. 😔 The Schminke Volcano Yellow, and W&N Lemon Yellow Deep (though subtler than the Schminke one) is PY159 and is lightfast (as far as I've understood and seen) and granulating. PB1 is also impermanent.
I will be in possession of two starter dot sets from Masha's by tomorrow 🙌 and it will be my first experience with granulating watercolor. I watched this video a while back and am watching again in preparation. Thanks for sharing these beautiful watercolors.
Cute bamboo palette, and the colours are beautiful. I also love those swatch stamps you got from Irit’s store. The tube design is so fun! Watercolours are so expensive, wahhh. I want to try mixing that Ultramarine Magenta, it is really gorgeous!
So much to love! Weathered rose, ocean wave, and cobalt green are stunning! I love Irit’s stamp set. I think some bright colors like a bright yellow and I agree, a pink, would have been really helpful in this floral set. I need to paint a loose rose… roses intimidate me ☺️.
What vibrant colors! Try these wet on wet. Just playing around with them. Wet your paper and drop colors on. I bet these paints go crazy. Wow! The rose color may be my favorite.
@@ColorfullyOptimistic you probably did mention it. I'm old and I have the attention span of a small gnat! Lol. I have adhd. Ive noticed the older i get the worse it gets! 😂 what were we talking about? Oh , look at that chicken! 😆
@@ColorfullyOptimistic these paints are amazing btw. The rose of course, but that cobalt green and the indigo are stunning! I can't order anything off of etsy because I don't have a checking account. 😑 i could open one but i don't like banks. Big thieves they are. Jmo. 🥰❣🙋♀️
Just a heads up that PY40 and PB1 are very impermanent pigments, and PB27 is notorious for losing at least some of it's color when exposed to light, so if lightfastness is important to you then perhaps that's something you want to be aware of. :)
Oh yes yes for sure. I don't use handmade paints for anything outside of my own fun in my sketchbook because I know a lot of times the lightfast ratings are not going to be to standard, and those are fugitive pigments for sure.
Honestly, I'd watch in real time, and have on other channels hahaha. These paints look gorgeous, and I'm looking forward to diving into your channel. YT just popped you up in my feed, so I've subbed!
You mean of my swatches or my work work? I've only recently gotten back into actually doing watercolor - gosh I missed it sooooo much. I have a few I'll be showing on my completed pages.
I love granulating watercolour too both single and multi pigment, with the multi pigment you do get that beautiful separation. Daniel smith do quite a few and I may have accidentally clicked buy on a few lol. There are a couple of pretty colours in that palette but there seem to be a few odd choices for florals.
The link works for me. I just clicked on the link and it says Marsha’s floral palette is sold out. You can click on her name and get to her Etsy homepage.
Typically, for watercolors yes, even big names will have the predominant pigment first. Of course, you'll never know how much of each as that's their bread and butter ;)
handmade watercolors are the first things I'll buy when I win the lottery. they cost like, my full salary in 2 weeks in Philippine currency! I can't. they're gorgeous tho hahaha
So I did leave a link in the description below, but this particular 12 count set in the box was $170. Keep in mind, the price does reflect the custom boxes of course. You can buy these same colors open stock in her pans too.
@@ColorfullyOptimistic Holy Moly...$170 for 12 half pans?!? They're pretty, but that's way too much money for home made water colors; granulating or not (for me). Thank you for sharing them though, they are pretty.
Yes they would be. These aren't my first watercolor paints though and you can buy all of hers open stock. Keep in mind a third of the price is the box itself 😃
I actually dont think they granulate a lot which is GREAT. The 2 tone ones yes, but the "granulating" I see out there on single tone watercolors to me looks sooo bad/ cheap. And these don't. I like that these are strong, textured, but even! To that point maybe we should have diff terms for separating/ granulating/ exposing undertone? To have 2 tone with even layers is soooo nice! Elegant like you say.
I do think these granulate, especially wet on wet, but I guess everyone sees things differently. Technically, yes, there's a different between granulation and separation, but that's a lesson for a whole other day lol.
The packaging is very pretty and unique. Colors pretty and some of the granulation is very nice. But…$180 for 12 half pans. That’s about $15 for 2-2.5 ml of paint. When I spend that much on paint rarely are the tubes less than 12ml. Which would make appx 5-6 half pans. Can’t justify the cost when these colors are available and can mix your own on your palette. Handmade paints sold on Etsy have gotten absolutely out of hand. And unfortunately I couldn’t find the adorable stamp set. This video is 2 yrs old maybe that’s why. Your video was really enjoyable so thank you. Just can’t justify the cost for these paints.
I love the box. Not a fan of the paints though, apart from the antique rose, which is lovely. They look dull and drab. I like my watercolours to be bright and clear. The painting of the rose was very pretty though, but the greens are not for me.
No, first did you pay for them? If these were given to you there is no reason to watch the video. Please state whether or not you've actually paid for the product straight away. Don't steal from people. Time is money.
I would have stated if they were given to me. No, I purchased these with my own money. Your assumptions are your own, and this comment unnecessarily rude, since I would have said if it was given to me.
Kori you MINX don't you dare have me buying yet more granulating watercolor!!! 😆🤩🤗🤣
I'm obsessed with them. I have no self control myself
Wow just the box alone is beautiful
Oh I agree! It was worth the added cost. It's great to travel too
What a gorgeous color assortment! And those granulations are amazing! Thanks so much for sharing!
They really are amazing! I just love how vibrant they are.
Masha's Watercolors are awesome. I have almost all the colors from her shop. Glad she's making the rounds.
Yes! She definitely needs some love. Her watercolors are BEAUTIFUL
Wow Beautiful colors..
Oh ty. She makes amazing stuff!
Beautiful palette! If I did florals, I’d be so tempted
Yes, it is really pretty and well-balanced.
So beautiful! Oh, that box, I wish I had gotten that too, but, I do love the paints I purchased. Thanks for sharing! 🤗💜🎨
The box does add pretty significantly to the price, but sure is cute!

Most of the price, like Deb said, is the box. Her half pans are $9 each :)
