I will not forget how thrilled I was when I discovered there was a podcast about Angelina and her music. It continues to fascinate me, and with all of the progression in her career, I feel it’s an absolute must to view. Thank you so much for having this opportunity for others to become better versed, and familiar with Angelina as a musician, and the commonality amongst her fans.❤

Her unique, vocalizing versatility is what helps make her a perfect person to perform in concert, for it helps her
please many types of people at individual points in the show. When you have a full audience pleased at having
found specific songs extremely to their liking, they leave the venue speaking highly of the performer.

That was an excellent point Robert made. These early concerts are important parts of her journey and life story. Ans yet, there is better quality sound and video from her child work and even her home music corner work. These concerts should have top quality video and sound placing across the internet that would promote her journey.

A lot of musicians are connected to mathematics. The open feeling over recording is maybe seen as promotion. "Juicy personal anecdotes"----- yes, yes, yes. We hunger for them and relish each honest one when we hear them. Thank you all so much for sharing, and thank you, Alan and Pontus, for pulling this together. Well done, well done. I just love Angelina Jordan's voice, no matter what she sings. Even when she was sick and singing for the poor--that is, even the tones while she is ill still win and expand my heart. I surely do hope I will be able to attend one of her concerts still intimate like this one was. Hopefully here in the PNW---Seattle, Tacoma, or even we'd take the train to Portland....... 💜💜💜💜💜

It’s true that us fans need to do what we can. As Toby said the other day, the music industry is completely different these days. The labels expect the artist to promote themselves to get that first viral hit before they will promote them. That explains why when Old Enough was released Angelina said that the label was going to be looking at streams, particularly Spotify, to promote it. Didn’t make sense to me at the time but now it does.
One disadvantage Angelina may have is, as we know, her current fan base is primarily older (myself included) which is not necessarily the demographic that does the most streaming. She will need to expand her base, primarily to younger people. The question is, how does she do that? I think her original material can appeal to a wider audience but the task is getting her and the music exposure.
I know some fans would like her to continue to do covers, especially jazz but I don’t think that’s what she wants to do. As important as that music is to her, I think creating her own music is as important to her if not more so. I would personally prefer that she continue with primarily her own music as it’s more personal and meaningful and will probably resonate more with new fans.

Nicely done and may I add, as usual!
I was extremely interested in what Robert had to say about getting all the Angelina factions of angels together to assemble a well built team which can help Angelina's primary team if they so desire. It's endless the good something like that can do. Acquiring tickets, accommodations, and all the particulars involved with her Concerts can be obtained through such an assembly of angels. How to obtain albums (? will that ever occur?), obtain individual copies of new recordings. And, how about this: Give all the angels a way to get copies of her HARD COPY BOOK! Can I ask all of you guys, WHY IN THE WORLD ARE THEY NOT PUBLISHING MORE COPIES OF THE HARD COPY OF HER BOOK?!?!?!?!? It would sell in the millions! Every person in the world who falls in love with Angelina will want a hard copy of the story which tells us why she sings barefoot. I will never understand why they don't publish more copies.
Anyway, glad all you guys had a great time. Couldn't make it to LA (and I had to miss Vegas, as well!) but I will see all of you when she comes to New York. (And, maybe Boston, too.)
Alan and Pontus, I have this sneaky feeling both of you may cross the pond to catch one of her Concerts on the East Coast (Preferably in New York). If you are, immediately go on a diet because you will be well fed by the host angels for you from the New York/New Jersey area.

She needs to expand her audience to appear at multiple locations. She has performed at three relatively small venues in the past year and has relied on fans coming from all over the country and even outside the country. She can’t expect that at every concert. She will need to have a large enough fan base so that she can fill venues with primarily locals or those from nearby. She’s.not at that point yet.

  • @JohnHug-rj2mj

    • @pjg58x
      @pjg58x หลายเดือนก่อน

Very true. She can’t rely only on us old timers. As I said in another reply is that a disadvantage she currently has is that her fan base is not the demographic that does the most streaming. I read that the demographic that is the biggest users of Spotify is 18-34 at about 73%. She somehow has to tap into that market. I think she has the songs (her originals) but she needs the exposure.

If the studio wants to remain hands off until she builds a large enough following organically, then I'd like to know what he is doing to increase her public profile. If I hadn't discovered her on TH-cam, I wouldn't even know who she is.

Rob is A&R, but what he really does for her we dont know. Marketing usualky isnt oart if thst role, I understand. He is known to appear with various artists on stage. I’m sure it warms her heart and she is ver appreciative but I’m sure she and her team would like to expand her fan base. The reason for the older crowd of course is that she started with jazz and covers of classics. But as we know she’s much more than that with her originals. Many of her older fans prefer her older songs but realistically that’s not going to sustain her career.
I e introduced her to a lot of people, my 20 year old son, colleagues at work who are their 30s, relatives that are in their 20s and 30s and of course my friends, but more older angels aren’t necessarily what she needs. 😄

Angelina is great and I have been following her since she won Norske Talenter when she was six years young. At eitghteen she is still young, but unfortunately I do not see where she is going from here. And unfortunately this panel of fifty pluss aged men is a good example of why. Her main audience are one and two generations older than her. Its really odd to see six men that could mostly be her grandfathers discuss her performance in details for close to an hour.

I agree that it would be beneficial to have more guidance from her team's side, but I also see that there are limitations to what is possible. E.g., reuse of most of her covers would have license implications with the songwriters of those covers, so her team cannot authorize such usage on their own. Same is likly true for any interview, which was done with newspapers, TV stations, etc.
So, since I don't think that is something we could expect, my hope is that they will be more produced by themselves, like the "10 Years in the Making". And since Kongsberg 2018 was recorded from the sound board, I would expect similar things from other concerts. E.g. Kongsberg 2022 was very likely recorded entirely by NRK, and there was also a TV team at Proysenhuset 2017. Mery posted one video with snippets from several songs, that were professionaly recorded. And I would assume, since Bad Valentine was properly recorded at Glendale, the rest of the concert was as well. And some of this stuff will certainly show up in either documentaries, or even as full live concert recordings either as video or auadio streams/downloads in the future.
