thanks a lot for the videos, they really help us first generation young adults who grew up after Vietnam war in Europe, but cant speak fluently the language of our parents and grandparents. you are my number one source to build up my confidence in the language, thank you soooooooo much!

I love all your videos. I wish you could've put the different expressions into a list of descending order or something like that to further visualize what's stronger and what's weaker.

Thanks for watching and your suggestions. Worksheets are provided in my Patreon page.🙏🏻 But it's also nice to divide my video into sessions which I will do it now. Hope it helps.

I think this deserves a Part 2. Keep up the great work, but not sure what the videos bring as they are sometimes confusing.

This phrase '有冇搞錯呀?' is so funny 😂
Usually the context is quite amusing

I think "m hai aa maa" might just be my new favorite expression! 😂 Hmm,, I wonder though how I could express a complaint about our neighbor above who has a leaking air-conditioner? 😅 My laundry just doesn't dry completely... 😓

Very cool, Amanda!! ☺☺ helps soo much to come up to speed at least conversationally; thank you!!! Interesting how the way to disagree is never direct! Did you do a video on ending words/terms at all? keep up the great work ☺☺

Any chance you could do these videos but also comment on how it is said/written in Mandarin too? It really helps me draw the two together and learn

ahh it took me a second to recognize
    係吖
as Aiyaa, the thing I always hear older chinese people say. i don't usually hear it with 唔 hahha
it always stuck with me because it reminds of Korean Aigoo

Actually there are lots of small ways like... o6 , haa2....
It depends on individual habit as well.

點講 'are you kidding me?' 係廣東話呀?
    係唔係: '你有冇搞錯咩呀?‘ ?

    • @5minutecantonese
      @5minutecantonese  ปีที่แล้ว

if you want to translate translate directly. it can be "你係唔係玩我呀?”
Something like "Are you joking me?"
But it's kind of rude. We only use it when the situation affects you negatively.
For example, your friend accepted an offer on behalf of you and you doesn't want it. Then you can use this.
For situation in the video, i.e. Something sounds ridiculous but it's not related to you. We say"有冇搞錯‘’
      😁
