  • Here is a truck from the city that I have wanted to film for a while now. I ran into it completely by surprise and knew I couldn't pass the opportunity. A 2002 Mack MR Heil rear loader from the Los Angeles City Department of Water and Power (DWP). One of the workers told me that it came from Sanitation when they no longer wanted it. It is seen here packing green waste from a section of a DWP lake reservoir.

That's pretty cool. It's nice when you stumble upon municipal trucks from departments that don't normally run trash trucks typically.

could have blindfolded me and said this was a San Diego pakmor and I would have believed you, really cool seeing a Mack with CAT engine, also dig the tandem axles with black rims, looks just the way a municipal unit should. lucky find!

Haha I like the black rims on this truck too. I think it adds a lot to it. Thank you!

Neat catch!! What an awesome looking truck and did not know LA had one. Curious how long ago Sanitation had it, especially considering it's an 02 Mack. Great find Andy!

Awesome video. Neat to see one of these 4000s on an MR. has a pretty great sound to it. Almost reminds me a bit of an ESD pakmor. Thought it was strange how the slide feature was slow on the way down but not the way up, figured it'd be the other way around. Anyways, great work
