I know you guys know this.... don't recover with a ball. Even a slow winching isn't a good idea. Be safe! Fun video
"Just live your life." Excellent advice my friend!
Word's to live by!
Storm is coming...!! Storm is coming..!! Wolf..!! Wolf..!!😇
Atleast you brought the right recovery gear, a kayak.
You got that right.
When you said there was going to be more boating videos for the summer, I don't think this what we had in mind 🤣
Hahaha. This was a 2 for 1!
This is the Florida version of rock crawling.
Haha, I guess it is!
LOL
OMG...all I can think of is the leech scene in Stand by Me.
Haha!
This filled my need to off-road! Like how calm you were when you got stuck tho!
Glad you enjoyed it! No need for me to get worked up. I'm a realist and don't create fake drama and such like other TH-cam channels.
Yeah.... I'll join you guys on a trip this winter, but I'm not flooding out my truck! Hahaha.
Hopefully we don't have a wet winter and the trails are dry.
You really earned Your title with this video..Florida Overland.
Thanks. We just like going out camping.
Kevin: you can bring your sedan out here
FL meth heads: ok honey load up the Kia. We’re going to Richloam
You laugh, we pull cars out all the time that have no business out there.
@@OverlandFlorida Having grown up in Orlando, this is how surprised I am ---> :-|
Great video..!! My kind of Adventure..!!
We like having fun!
This was great thanks. Consider doing a vid on changing your truck fluids, I need to learn that.
Thanks for watching and I'll see about making a video like that.
Getting stuck may have sucked, but if you will allow me to say, your awesome for trying!
Thanks Shane.
As soon I saw the front dip I knew you were in trouble LOL
That's usually how it starts lol
Thanks for the video. Got to say you guys are brave. That coming storm would have made me heading home early.
We are used to storms on Florida. Thanks for watching.
Thinking about heading out there tomorrow... got a gladiator with less than 500 miles waiting to get her dirty...
It hasn't rained in a while. The holes shouldn't be that deep.
This video was awesome!
When I was out there a couple of years ago we were walking a flooded trail (less than knee deep) to see if we wanted to chance it with the trucks. Came around a bend to a 6 foot gator. We didn't walk any trails after that. I had 35's and a snorkel so I played Guinea pig for the rest of the day.
You have a few videos I've watched out there I think. I used to go out all the time when my jeep was on 35's.
@@OverlandFlorida I do. They are on my other channel. As soon as my travel schedule slows down I hope to be adding some more content on that one.
Awesome!
Love those trails and that store is awesome!!
Great video! Thanks for sharing it. I love riding Richloam trails
Thanks for watching. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
lol the hook on the trailer ball with a recovery point right next to it. Was waiting for the live leak logo to pop up
Using the ball this time was perfectly fine.
That looked like fun. Thanks for the video. Stay dry and safe
Thanks! Luckily the only damage was a stuck starter.
Great video Kevin, nice to see some daylight videos. A really cool old store. (please don't think I'm a know it all, I do teach vehicle recovery for several SAR groups in my area) the last place to hook onto Ron's truck is the tow ball. It is very weak and is designed to pull a rolling trailer on dry surfaces. It's very easy to break and become a missile. I',m sure you guys know of all the different methods. A free option for him next time is to, before leaving home, just unscrew the ball and run his shackle through the bolt hole, this Idea is quick and dirty at home in 5 minutes. (not optimal but much better than nothing).
Hindsight being 20-20, I know lol, What I would do at that moment right there is to take the whole hitch out and squeeze in one end of your tree protector in there and simply put the normal pin back in, going right through the loop of the strap......I'm only commenting to help.
I was actually expecting these comments. I could have easily edited that part out, but left it in. I understand it could be a missle. Unfortunate Ron's ball and hitch are welded to the truck so we couldn't remove them. I've been off roading my whole life and have seen huge built mud trucks yank people out by the receiver hitch. So slowly pulling Ron's single cab toyota backwards a few feet isn't really an issue.
I totally get what you are saying and you are 100% correct. We have the gear and know the proper way to use it. Sometimes out of convenience we just go back to what we've been doing.
You got it, seen a ball go thru a tailgate and rear window. Only blind luck prevented a death.
wow man good job 👍👍👍
Thank you.
I live in MN and with all the lakes around I invested in some water waiters and I always walk the trail when I see water. It's saves me so many times it was worth the $40 investment
That's a good idea.
Excellent video really enjoyed it
Just sunk my 4Runner in this same area. Totaled. Wish I would’ve watched this video first.
I took my Kia Rio out here and had no issues. That car never gets stuck.
You guys are such adventures. Amazing stuff.
Thanks for watching!
I wish they would keep these trails to fl residents with fl plates only
Why? It's mainly the locals that abuse them anyway. I'm sure they will only be open to hunters before too long.
I got my Ford Escape stuck in a water/ mud hole. Had to come back the next day to retrieve it with a cable puller. One end to the hitch the other to a tree and winched it out. Fuse box went under water. Removed the fuse box, replaced the relays, dried the circuit board and put back in. Drove that thing until we sold
It
*edit. Once I got all that mud water into the escape it never smelled the same haha
My truck smells fine. But the carpet and padding has been removed.
You had no business being there with a Ford Escape 🤦🏻♂️😄
@@RagingBad haha nope. Had my wife sitting next to me saying “we have 4 wheel drive, let’s go for it”. Jump to me carrying her through the mud on my back. Live and you learn
y'all are badass! nice work on that trail
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the show!
Nice driving , I would never have driven some of the holes like you guys are ! bravo !
Thanks for watching!
We just did some of the trails in the forest by the general store. Very wet and thankfully not terribly deep
It would have been very dry if it wasn't for Eta. Glad you got to get out and enjoy nature.
Get some dollar store desiccant closet dryers after you detail the inside. Itll smell like a swamp cooter if you dont. Just a suggestion from a guy that's done what you've done....
I ended up removing the carpet and throwing it away. Truck smells just fine now.
Those recoveries were crazy ! That is legit swamp crawling in Florida. Next time, ride on an airboat ! LOL
I'll have to start making airboat videos lol
I need to go with you guys one day. Wet trails are my favorite. Wheelin with no recovery is not proper off-roading
You're more than welcome to! You got that right. Can't get good at recovering if you never have anything to recover.
As always a great video. Please dont use the ball hitch to pull someone out. It will shear off and come back at you at around 80 mph.
Thanks for watching.
9:40 “Who’s the U-boat commander?” 😉
Hahah
Try some buckshot radial mud tires ... I drove anywhere i wanted in my 88 toyota 4x4..
You should just use Ron's kayak to go retrieve the camera haha
Haha. I need an RC airboat with a gopro attached to it.
@@OverlandFlorida or a drone
I need cant wait to get out on some trails. You do bring up some good points about water getting in everything. I’ve been thinking about getting a “breather system” of tubes for my diffs and trans before I venture into swampland.
Depending on your vehicle the front may already be setup to vent out of a high spot in the engine compartment. The Tacoma 2nd gen is. But the rear needs to get modified to vent higher up. Easy mod
There was not a drop of water when I changed out my fluids.
always walk the hole if you're unsure.. Richloam has some big holes..
noticed the Alberta plate on the front of buds Yota, I'm from the Lethbridge area. Is he a former Albertan ?
Good eye! He just visits there. He's not from there.
We definitely don't have that weather here in the West at the moment!
Depending on where you are, it's already snowing.
i live like 5 minutes from richloam. Im out there omost everyday. You better have a snorkel minimum 37s locked and a winch. or u may never return LOL
You're speaking the truth lol
Good video Kevin! Next time improvise a way to cook up some asparagus ok.. you kinda let me down.. lol 😆
Haha. I'll throw some in the fridge next time lol. "Easy meals to cook when you are stuck"
You needed a bilge pump in your truck. To bad about the water in there. Great video.
It's all in the name of fun!
Pretty wild little trail, might check it out soon. Btw you hit that last hole perfect, any less speed and you would’ve been stuck again lol. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching. You're welcome to join us anytime.
If you find yourself down around the okeechobee area please give me a shout. Enjoying your channel. Thanks for sharing God bless.
I'll be down there in a week or two. My aunt live in Taylor Creek.
What is the difference between 2WD and 4WD?: With 4WD you just get stuck deeper in the woods.
You're absolutely right about that.
Damn dude that’s crazy! Looked like fun actually, can’t wait to get our Subaru stuck out there soon.... 🙃
Just make sure you join the FB page "SOS Stuck in Florida"
Overland Florida I’ve stumbled across that one, makes me glad I can take care of myself.... 🔧😝
Oh Brother, your truck is goin to stink from that muddy water.
Smells 100% normal. I removed the carpet.
AWESOME VIDEO BTW
Thanks Matt!
Never could get used to boiled peanuts
I could eat them every day.
I bet you will never get rid of the swamp smell on a hot day in your truck.
There is no smell. I removed the entire interior.
@@OverlandFlorida You would have to. I had a container of dew worms spill in my trunk once. NEVER got rid of that smell.
Hey Kevin… have you done the mods on the differentials to extend the vent up above the frame level?
No I have not.
Where do you live in Lakeland?
I’m off Pipkin Road.
I'm off Pipkin too.
I don't think triple A will help in cases like this🤣🤣🤣
Not at all lol
Won't be long before you're looking for a new ecm or host of other computers for those trucks. Water and computers don't mix. Good luck 👍
So far so good. Engine compartment was relatively out of the water.
Long time no comment, looked like a lot fun, what size tires are you guys running,
Welcome back! We are running stock size. 265/70/17
you dont want to walk the mud holes in richloam ive been there many of thmes and seen massive gators in the trails
It will be ok.
Could you drop the coordinates for this trail in the comment. I explored Osceola earlier this year after driving the Georgia Adventure trail would love to check this place out, this trail in particular.
Thanks for watching. It's lower lake trail.
You should have done a drive side and passenger side comparison of with and without mud flap. #nomudflaplife
Haha. Yeah. Maybe I'll just keep the one mud flap.
respect!!
Wasn't the dumbest thing I've done.
What year is the red yota
1995.5
do they only accept cash at the general store? Awesome video man
Cash or card.
Thanks for watching.
So why did you write "totaled tacoma"?
Probably click bait and insurance will total out a vehicle if the water line is high enough to Inter the cab
Dude isn't this the same hole you got stuck in?
I've been on this trail about 5 times. This was the first time I got stuck.
😮💪👍🏼
Just how much rain is A LOT AND A LOT🤔
It's a lot!
I hate talking on the camera sometimes I have no idea what I'm saying 🤣🤣
Wow that IS a lot😂😂😂😂. I grew up in homestead and the streets would flood when it rained a lot and a lot and we would Skim board. ( back when kids could & would play out side)
not a second time right?
This was about the 3rd time. But the first time on film.
Since when did you get in front of the camera? Not the norm.
I know, should I start hiding behind it again? Lol
@@OverlandFlorida no, just not used to it. You're fine brother.
When you were stuck in the water did you winch off a tree to pull yourself out?
Yes.
Great video, but the clickbait tittle was annoying.
It happens.
What do you use for navigation
Google maps if anything.
East or West tract and also was this a named Forest Road?
This was west of 471. It was lower lake road.
Musze sobie taką markizę do auta kupić
warto sprawdzić eBay
How do you clean that now?
I took the seats out and left them in the garage to dry out for a long weekend. Removed the carpet and threw it away.
Kevin you need some muck boots 😬
This is Florida, we go bare foot lol
Overland Florida I don’t go barefoot in water I can’t see thru! 😆BECAUSE this is FLORIDA and too many things could be lurking
Do you guys ever air down your tires for trails like these?
I never do. I understand the logic. But don't see the need.
Looks like y’all didn’t even need to. Looks like mostly hard pack minus the mud. Which you don’t want to air down for mud any way.
What camper shell are you running
ARE Overlander.
Do have a five or 6 feet bed
Is the Green Swamp WMA open to vehicles??
Yes. You just have to respect the road closed signs. There are miles of trails open. But 90% have deep water holes right now.
I tried to enter Green Swamp WMA earlier this year and the gates were closed. Regs said open only during hunting season or frogging/fishing. Is the west side different? There were roads available to the north near the Richloam Store, but south section was closed.
That's the preserve. That's a little different. That's only open during hunting season. The rest of the green swamp is always open as well as Richloam.
Green swamp and richloam are different wma areas , richloam is always open to driving but green swamp is gated do to it being more of a hunting preserve, but if you have a ADA permit with the combination to the lock you can go in and drive around, but if you go in and get caught driving on a road you are not supposed to or purposely tearing up any of the roads in thier fwc will happily fine you for it. Also green swamp is only opened during hunting season and or like I said if you have the ADA combination to the lock .
Do you diff breathers on your Tacoma?
Whatever comes factory. There was no water in any of the fluids when I changed them.
What road or trail is that?
Lower lake.
Why aren't you doing this in a beater instead of a 50k truck?
That is a beater.
@@OverlandFlorida It is now.
@@richardhoward3462 it's a toyota, it was always a beater. Has over 114k miles now.
@@OverlandFlorida My Tacoma had 220k miles on it and was still running like new when i sold it like an idiot. All i am saying is that it is a really nice truck with probably 10k worth of accessories you have installed. To drive it under water for fun or for the sake of a video is just beyond my ability to understand. To each his own. You must have money to burn.
Remind me not to buy your used vehicle. 😂.
New interior! 🤣
What antenna are you using?
FireStik
Overland Florida thanks!
Click bait..
So, if you have a canoe or a kayak, than you can do this trail pretty easily. Winch hooks do not belong on the ball of the recovered vehicle......ever! You know better than that. Yes, it worked this time, but next time it could be the reason you killed your radiator or worse, yourself.
You are 100% correct.
Mo*men*tum
Never heard of her.
totaled? clickbait!
Opps
jeez dude, your so worried about legal stuff, but be doing cocaine out there, sure sound like it and act like it
This area is known for Meth, get it right.
#NotABoat
Will be after my next mods lol
I’d never take my Trd off road into a hole like that. That’s why I have a built xj
Cool.
Overland Florida you should come up to north Florida and check out Osceola NF. Lots of trails and plenty of water when it’s not dry.
