Let's not chide the audience for their "inappropriate" applause. For instance, if you are unfamiliar with this work and it sounds like it's ending (which it actually is the end when the Da Capo is taken) then the audience will applaud. Call them rude if you wish but at least they appreciated the performance. Sometimes us "trained" musicians and listeners need to understand that not everyone is in our "world."
Did it matter at all? I don't think so. To me it feels like a, well, "fun piece" anyway. And the applause wasn't clearly attributed to an ending as well. Kind of snobbish to blame a general audience for expressing their feelings. (You didn't, others did.)

Maybe the best performance I’ve heard of this march. They’ve got a good tempo and the right style. (Too many pianists play this like a breathless sprint.) A few small clinkers don’t ruin it, though it’s a shame the audience barges in at the wrong moment.
You are so correct, Tom Poore. Their tempo is perfect to provide a vigorous march rhythm as well as give a nice gentle "lilt" to the music (especially in the TRIO section). Yes, and too bad the dreadful audience didn't know the music and ruined it with the clapping in the middle.
@@VincentSPICER IMO the applause did not take away too much (if at all) from the rendition. It felt more like a scene applause. And then, the piece is neither well known nor particularly "serious" in the first place. Not much to ruin here... Correct me if I'm wrong.
I like the fact the audience applauded - not the wrong moment, more a false finish to the piece which might well have been intended to make the audience go ‘aaaaahh’ when the pianists unexpectedly start up again after they begin applauding. Maybe it is a teensy bit elitist to get precious about such matters? Spontaneity makes for a better experience! Although I would draw the line at audience giving enthusiastic whoops in the middle of the Moonlight Sonata… PS I played in a band a few years back where we did exactly that - a false finish, wait for the audience to start applauding, and then start up again. It always went down well!
Their commitment, their expression, their feeling and their playing is just wonderful. I've watched this many times and am just in awe of their performance. Bravo. A tribute to the human race.
Despite some adverse comments I enjoyed the performance, and they seem so passionate about what they are doing; a pity the audience didn't know what they were listening to !
It's striking how the interaction of Israel's mix of 20% Muslims and 80% Jews isn't always the way the media like to portray it. This young Jewish Sivan shares a keyboard with young Muslim Salim, both studying together in the same Israeli academy that nurtures musicians of any background, race or faith. How many female Jewish musicians are playing piano duets with their male Muslim peers in predominantly Muslim countries like Syria, Iraq and Saudi Arabia? None. We can be quite sure of that.
Apparently in Singapore this is associated with some kind of listening comprehension exam. For me in the United States, at one time my sister tap-danced to this song in her recital!
This is in the middle of a concert, the rest of the orchestra would have played aswell that evening but it would take too long for whole orchestra to leave and come back for a single duet
Like many in the comments section, I was completely taken by the mesmerising beauty, mannerisms and performance of the female pianist and had to find out more about her. I think I've finally found her. I believe her name is Sivan Silver and the male pianists' name is Saleem Abboud Ashkar, though I could be wrong. So if anyone knows their correct identities please share!
Thank you Pulau for your research. You are correct on the guy's name: Saleem Abboud ASHKAR. I have not found the girl yet, so I will take your lead for now, Sivan SILVER ... I'll research and see what I come up with. I found the guy, now I want to find her. I want to find more recordings of both of them.
This is just wonderful!! Why are people taking the piss about their movements and mannerisms?? When you are completely absorbed in, and engaged with, the music you don’t care what your body is doing!
He has a beautiful face though (and so does she), get over it. Never mind the face or facial expressions or the hair - it's the MUSIC - their excellent "together" (synchrony), rhythmic, dynamics, an excellent performance.

We not "us". But agree, of course.

This music is exciting and reminds me of why I first fell in love with the piano

"What the hell are they doing?"
Well kids they actually have passion for music unlike other musicians and can feel the music
This could very well be thee greatest piano masterpiece ever!! And four hands.. 🤩😍🤓☝️
Awesome! Especially once they adjusted the bench.
I agree 🤗 with the bench issue
their timing is fucking perfect

Beautiful performance. Two very talented pianists.
Absolutely! This is one of my favourite performances of this work. I love both of these pianists.
@Antony Fragakis Salim Abboud ASHKAR, and the girl is Sivan SILVER with Garburg Duo.
Talented maybe but why so many mistakes?
@@ilovemydog6847 I caught some mistakes too but overall they're still talented to have pulled off this duet

Totally agree they are very talented
Not everyone is an expert in classical music, but everyone starts somewhere.
that bobbing of his hair is so cute
Nice to see a NICE comment, yes he is cute here - because he is natural, feeling the music.
audience got tricked by schubert

Exquisite phrasing! With clarity over such a broad dynamic range that it sounds orchestral.

I learned this many many years ago. Played the primo part. Fun piece. These two are definitely expressive.
Nearly flawless technique with a modern flair and 19th century joie de vivre. My thanks for an admirable posting!
ma version préférée félicitation aux 2 pianistes
Lovely duet,perfect.😍
If only now, that land could ever be this harmonious……. (A Jew and an Arab playing the piano together harmonious)
Passionate playing by the young man. I enjoyed his performance and the young lady who in truth was making me swerve to the music as well.
Perfect timing! Amazing.
Great performance by this duet. Well harmonized.
THE STACCATTO IS JUST 🤯🤯🤯🤯
