Same. I like to login, play some games, log off. No need to find teammates every time that you never played with before just to get rolled by teams that play together all year around
No it didn't. What ruined PvP is the gatekeeping of rewards based on mmr inflation. The hype falls off until the end of the season where it picks back up. As you say only the last 2 weeks of seasons matter. I find it truly unacceptable that world first raiders can complain if they haven't killed the last boss in 2 weeks and we can't complain that gladiator/legend was unavailable for 8 weeks straight. And right now it's still incredibly gatekept. At least on EU, the difference between 2.1 teams and 2.2-2.350 teams is astronomical, a lot of mr1s playing their alts gatekeeping the shit out of glad. With more participation and inflation these teams should be 2.7 by now
Agree and disagree. Shuffle did pull a lot of players out of the bottom / middle of the ladder. Those players then got frustrated with the imperfections in shuffle and quit. The rewards system is the true issue here. You're incentivized to sit until late in the season due to mmr fuckery. The proliferation of alts (good for casual play) has made it so super sweaty teams can gatekeep the shit out of glad and rank 1. I was playing around 2.2 this season and we'd go from playing a bunch of rank 1 AWC players on their 5th or 6th alt, to playing against a team we absolutely curbstomped. It's not fun or fulfilling getting your ass kicked by people who play something professionally. I don't have the time to commit to doing that, so I'm a "duelist andy" this season. The entire ladder system is bad, static breakpoints is archaic.
MMR bullshit, reward system, healers not getting rating the same way dps does, playing against top player as total noob is what killed pvp. Everything should be account wide; even the MMR, and one should not be able to go below some MMR threshold, once you get it.
The gate keeping time wise is lame too. The cap on currency has been way too strict for both pve and pvp in my opinion cause I do both. They need to stop catering to the casual trash players and respect the player base that has kept them alive for the last 20 f'n yrs
@@kylecallahan6271 Literally no1 got glad or legend in the first 8 weeks except for Whaaz (which was the only person above 2.4 for a month+). Effort and skill didn't have anything to do with it. His team mates got glad later. And these are professional players, I thought the game was made for everyone else
No.Blizzard did. Blizzard ruined pvp .Like they ruined StarCraft2 pvp, like they ruined Wacraft3 pvp, like they ruined the entire diablo franchise and d2 pvp, OVERWATCH and how they ruined that. Its not solo shuffle, its the best thing to happen to rated pvp after arenas were introduced. Its blizzard, every single developer and decision they make. Don't blame solo shuffle for mediocre developers dropping the ball over and over again. As people's time has been less and less a thing , and as there are more and more BETTER games on teh market, Retail is stuck in literal limbo.
There are a lot of better games at the Market, but most of them are Singleplayer or story driven RPG games. MMORPGs and RTS games are neglected by overwhelming majority of game Developers
Solo shuffle is fun. Solo shuffle did kill premade 2v2 and 3v3 arenas though. But what really killed PVP altogether has nothing to do with PVP itself. What killed PVP is all the dogshit gameplay while you wait for Qs. Like why can't I Q for a solo shuffle and do a delve at the same time? There is no gear to farm in the open world either for doing mythic+ or raids. Can't even farm transmogs without pausing the Q or canceling it. There is literally nothing to do when you Q for a solo shuffle. After a while i realized all i did on my character was log on waiting in Dornogal for 10 - 15 - 20 mins to play a shuffle, then after the shuffle I would be back in Dornogal waiting 10 - 15 - 20 mins for the next shuffle again. This isn't worth 15USD per month.
Just because Solo Shuffle and BG Blitz has hyper inflated ratings than Arena's. a 2.2k rated player in BG Blitz and Solo Shuffle is like an 1800 player in Arena's. And someone who gets an 1800 in Shuffle/Blitz gets the Elite set but wouldn't usually break 1500 in Arena's. I'm not saying thats a bad thing, just that's why people play those modes. You don't have to be good to be carried, and on average you will be. You can get a decently high rating as long as you're not AFK. But thats why they're doing better than Arena's are, because you don't have to prove yourself to play with others and you don't have to be good or be coordinated to do okay.
@@ThoGreyin SL i personally had to sit over 2-3 hours in lfg as a warlock to find groups to play in s1, unironically. Getting a group that doesnt fall apart within 2-3 games without any exp felt impossible. If not for shuffle, there were 0 chance id resub after that expansion. Shuffle allowed me to have enough games played to learn, improve, find partners and get that exp in 3s too eventually, but there is 0 chance at all that would be possible without shuffle. 3s killed themself, nothing to do with shuffle
Solo shuffle and bg blitz are the only reasons wow pvp is kinda alive. The systems are not perfect (healers should not have separated MMR imo, and the class balance is always terrible in wow), but the game (I mean PvP but M+ feels the same tbh) is unplayable without solo Q (for non R1 players). The biggest problem is the Q times, they are way too long and killed the game. Fix the Qtimes, fix the game (save the cheerleader save the world).
@@chrisrayburn-u2j Yeah, everybody knows that, even Blizzard knows that (separated MMR one of the main reasons why no healer wants to play). Unfortunatly they (Blizz) dont give a sh1t about it :(
@@MetalAndor I dont know if there is any, WoW is my only MMO since TBC (tried some others but never lasted long). I can remember much better balanced times tho (was not perfect but better). But what is your point with this? There is no other so they should not evben try?
"solo shuffle requires no skill" the only people i see say that shit r the guys who ONLY q the SAME COMP for the past 15 years. congrats dude u got "real gladiator" after playing jungle for 15k games, using voice chat the entire way
I think you misunderstand that point. Playing jungle with voice requires skill and coordination. Playing shuffle requires doing most aoe dmg while being the most disruptive. Shuffle is more like m+ / pve than actual arena.
@@Altruistic-General That's what shuffle is.. you just do 6 individual games instead of one, because the rng of bad lobbies is worse in the latter. Would you rather queue once for 6 games or queue 6 times for 6 games?
What about selling achievements for raid ? What about selling M+ keys boost ? What about selling the 6hitiest (Mark of Supreme) to get easy PvP set ? If all was* balanced you can't sell arena rating just like that !
Exactly what you say Venruki, without solo shuffle I would be one of the players that would quit. Solo shuffle and BG Blitz actually made me return to WoW as someone who had played for 14 years straight before.
Between the existing community cannibalizing itself and blizzard splitting the player base between five different versions of wow... Yeah no wonder. Until genuine effort is made to bring in new players or encourage pvers to try pvp we will slowly dwindle into nothingness
At this point they seem to be trying to kill it on purpose. Probably 98% of players pve only in this game, and they're having massive struggles there. WoW is the cashcow and daddy Microsoft wants $. You could ditch all pvp players, lose 2% of your subs, and if you didn't lose a single pve players it would be worthwhile.
@@Altruistic-General Let's not forget that those 2% are self-inflicted by Blizzard and could be 5-10x higher (like they used to be) if they actually employed a handful of dedicated pvp devs.
Solo Shuffle is what got me into PVP so I love it. My top issues by far are : 1. I can't climb rating past 2k because half the players are gladiators. It goes from bad players to insane players between 1900-2k so I hit a wall. 2. Que times. I only have 30 minute play windows and literally stand there waiting for a que that sometimes never pops and I have to log out. I literally only play healer now and can only dream of playing DPS because I can't get into games as DPS with my limited schedule. 3. Burst windows are too crazy to heal through! HEALING IS CANCER AT 2K RATING! I want to quit healing at this rating but I don't have time to wait for DPS ques so now I want to just quit altogether because I feel like I cannot play the game. Healers matter! Make them fun in the higher ratings! PLEASE Blizzard!
@@Tokena14 That's why I titled it "my top issues"... However I would also argue that long DPS que times prevent other players from playing PVP as well. Would you agree?
@@jeremyk9870 Long queue times are bad regardless. I have not experienced very long queue times as DPS and I am currently 2.2k on several chars. I am EU, it might be different than NA idk.
I genuinely wouldn't have a sub without solo Shuffle, it's the only thing that keeps me playing. All my friends who used to play arena are long gone and sitting in group Finder only to find someone who leaves after 2 losses is awful.
Everyone I know that dabbled with PVP casually in retail has quit playing it altogether, most with the same complaint. For the casual player who isn't doing PVP consistently there are too many talents and/or abilities constantly being changed, it's too much to keep up with. I understand the appeal of lining up all the stars for a big one-shot go, but for lower rated players on the receiving end it's "oh I'm just randomly dead, cool." It's not fun, the game does a terrible job communicating what is happening so you don't really learn anything, and people just quit out of frustration.
Solo q is the best thing that ever happen. It gives a chance to q arena beside a normal life with work, kids, friends and stuff. The People getting older and dont are avaible allday to find groups and q 3s.
3s for me is infinitely more fun than shuffle purely based on the social aspect. Nothing replaces the team dynamics of working together, banter and just having good old fashioned fun like 3s. Shuffle has it's place though and should exist for it's primary reason; people that can't make a team but still want to play arena. The real reasons that these two game modes struggle to co-exist boils down to a few things. 1. The barrier to entry for PvP is ridiculously high. Don't let neck beards who have been playing WoW since 2004 convince you otherwise, WoW PvP to a layman is fu**ING insanely hard and the necessity for so many add-ons to just play the game and scrape 1600 rating has never been higher, this needs addressing and we will see what blizz will do about this. Stick UI only with a DR tracker in PvP is something that should be thought about, people need to go back to being bad at the game and stop letting the add-ons play the game for them. 2. The ELO system is just not fit for purpose anymore. As time marches on so does the player base numbers and the current system relies on there being a healthy population to distribute mmr through inflation. However when no one plays because there is no inflation then there is no incentive to play until that inflation is at its max because rewards and titles are placed at static mile markers. This creates a situation where due to the natural progression of an expansion (player numbers are always highest season 1) that it will always be "easier" to hit your highest rating in season 1 and if you scrape glad then you ain't getting it again for the future seasons most likely. So when people can see they are not going to be able to achieve their goals, they just stop playing. 3. Boosting/account piloting in 3s. This is not talked about in the upper echelons of the PvP community, because it's now big business, when people are buying glad carries for £1000 or similar denominations ofc the onus is to keep quiet about this, and we see this from streamers who know these people but won't say anything and I don't blame them, the money is gotten so big that they risk real IRL consequences from messing with that racquet. This ties into the ELO system and the rewards that are set in stone at fixed ratings. Gatekeeping at these milestones makes it more efficient for these people to make money. IYKYK..... WoW PvP needs reform, not to it's gearing system or balance, for once these two things are as good as I can remember, I'd even hazard to say on par or better than PvP in mists. It's the system that needs overhauling. The foundations are rotten, they need stripping out and cleansing with new and healthy wood as you cannot build greatness if your bedrock is brittle......
Wasn’t expecting one of my tweets to appear 1:50 lol. But to clarify, just because a bracket has more participation doesn’t automatically mean it’s better from a “fun” standpoint. It’s about convenience over fun. If I’m new to PvP and I want the 1800 elite set, do I attempt to socialize and join/create a group of friends or do I click a button and wait in solo que even though playing with a friend would’ve been more fun? Playing WoW as a solo player game is like going to McDonalds for a salad imo. Everyone’s entitled to their likes/dislikes and I’m sure there are people who genuinely enjoy solo que. But if I want to unwind and play a solo player game, why wouldn’t I play the millions of games that are catered for solo play, don’t have a que time, and don’t cost $15 a month? Adding solo que would’ve been fine, but having it replace premade group content is counterproductive for WoW as a MMO. SS and BGB don’t need to be removed for arenas and RBGs to succeed. The premade brackets need more reward incentive (among other things). The PvP reward structure needs to change so that 99% of the rewards aren’t shared between all 5 brackets. And premade brackets should have more exclusive rewards than the solo que ones.
@DrewDynamiteTV Really well said man. Solo Shuffle feels like the $5 budget version of 3v3. Blitz is the dollar tree version of RBGs. The problem is you get enough of a taste of the action from shuffle/blitz to never bother with 3v3/rbgs. Blizzard decided to go all in on the solo Q modes instead of improving 3v3 and rbgs, because of convenience. RBGs have been dying for years because Blizzard just forgot about it and left it there with almost no updates to speak of. Guess they were too busy working on blitz and shuffle. I also feel it may be a design copout for Blizzard. Why try to balance/nerf comps like RMP, ret warrior, MLS, etc when you can just have the comps be random garbage so it just doesn't matter anymore? Perfect solution, that was some heads up thinking. Easier on the devs short term, but potentially worse for the game in the long run. The nerf to CC heading into Dragonflight was no doubt a shuffle change as well. They are engineering it this way on purpose and it's disheartening that they are blinded to what's happening.
nononono buddy, solo que is like a great burrito on the corner with awesome taste and friendly owner he cooks fast but f DELICIOUS , and 3 on 3 is expensive restaurant with 1 star review, its not delicious , the staff is ugly(boosters, freaks, and same 10 people from 2700 on every rating line) the parking spot are only for handicaps ( we play at 800 cr but to join us you must be 3500 EXP and no lower). and after waiting all day in line they spit you in face and telling you cant come to this cozy lair of snakes
@@mykolaiakovliev5618 Yeah it is now thanks to SoloQ. 3v3 is big time dead now with the same 10 people like you said. I played some 3v3 2 weeks ago and fought the same boost team with two r1s and a buyer 3 games in a row. However, before Dragonflight came out, 3v3 had a fairly wide range of players from 1500 n00bs all the way to rank 1 and it at least felt active. BFA season 4 was a very active season, even if it was a meme corruption season, the activity was there. Many of the issues you're describing come from the LFG system. You were trying to play 3v3 as if it were SoloQ, where you sit in queue and wait for random people to sign up or invite you, then get mad when they left after one game. Who exactly were you waiting for or expecting? Networking and finding friends takes more than one button click, even in life. I never understood people playing the game like that.
Yes shuffle did kill 3v3. Maybe this is what Blizzard and the playerbase wanted, but there's no sugarcoating it. 3v3 has been less active since shuffle was launched. Why? Queuing for shuffle is more convenient. But in a sense, you trade quality for convenience. I think Shuffle gameplay is a lot worse than 3v3. 3v3 arena in WoW was always super unique and cool, it kept me playing for this long. It became the cornerstone of competitive WoW PvP. Blizzard hit on something special unexpectedly. But shuffle doesn't hit as hard as real 3v3 for me. Shuffle is convenient, but lower quality, and feels like it means less. In shuffle it sucks not being able to coordinate defensives, CC, setup, swaps, etc. Comp variety in shuffle is less interesting than actual comps for me. I like how classes fit together in a comp and compliment eachother in real 3v3. It feels like the game has a design to it that way. Shuffle just feels random. It's okay, but not great. Miss 3v3. Hope it can make a comeback somehow. I KNEW soloQ would do this to 2s and 3s.
Long queues are a bummer and just getting rid of SS won’t shift the player base much. Honestly the biggest problem in PvP is that they don’t focus on growing the player base, more people will improve queue times, stabilize rating inflation, get Bliz to spend more time on PvP, and create a wider skill range that will encourage even more people to play. The problem isn’t SS, it’s that there’s such a small population because the barrier to entry is too high. Personally I’m a fan of SS because I only have an hour to play here and there, so finding groups isn’t realistic
something ppl dont consider is the queue times may be long but its essentially just as long as finding a group/player to queue rated arena with and then you lose a game and gotta start all over finding a new group or player so i honestly thing all things considered the queue time isnt as bad as searching for new teammates until you lose on repeat
Resto Shaman main here, this is my solo shuffle experience 9 times out of 10: You get teamed up with mongo Havoc DH who rush in, over extend, pop zero def CDs, you gotta run in like an idiot, pop everything to top them, get chain CCed, then they die. You ask them to stop over extending, they answer ''move bitch'' what a great community.
I don't really like shuffle for three reasons: - q times - the format with current class/pvp design - other arena modes suffered But thats just me and also a reason why i don't play retail anymore, i still hope they change their design in the future and just redesign everything, from class design to how cc used to be, get rid of all the micro cc bs and make it more of a strategic battle instead of a PvE dps race.
The problem with R1's being gatekept is not a Blizzard issue but a player issue sadly. You can go look at any other similar game or a private server of a low pop and the top10 leaderboards are always gatekept by the same group of people in order to keep any non-friends or unknown people away from the cutoff
soloshuffle is best thing they have done ... i saw soooo many of this "high skilled" arena players playing like trash when they not getting boosted by friends .... that alone is gold for me seing this toxic ego players getting ****** bye non exp players and cry XD
FF14 and Teso are FF14 and Teso .... Wow have 4 version a classix fckin usless cataclysme a usless plunder shiiit ... And other ... Blizzard as to much split the community.
I only got "good" at PvP because my friends liked PvP. I cared more about playing with friends, so the idea of Solo Shuffle is silly to me, but I'm aware of why that is, and I understand why people like it.
Solo is a god send for a lot of people. I used to get a whole day off and be super excited to play some arenas then just sit in group finder for 6-8 hours for 2-3 groups who play 2-3 games and as soon as you lose your healer dips.
What solo shuffle could of been is a system that queues you into a 3v3 2v2 at your selection. You queue into the 3v3 or 2v2 ladr and your rating isn't separate. You keep with that team until you loose a fight. Xoulda been used to help find friends to 3v3 or 2v2 queue with...longer bonding or something
Premade arena was great for ppl that either had an already setup premade that could play a lot during each week, or for ppl at high rating that built a network of players over years to play with. For anyone outside of those two groups you get more games and more play time in solo shuffle. Unless you want to play double DPS at low mmr forever, losing half the games.
This game is a cancer. Shuffle specifically Win a lobby 5-1 at 2k cr and get 38points Lose a lobby 2-4 and lose 50 points. See the problem? Not to mention when you get a weak healer or dps and go 3-3 and get 0. Sitting 25-40min ques… for that? The game is a tragic mess and the only ones playing are getting paid too or streaming or are on the nostalgia train and are too scared to get off.
@venruki 5:30 black desert has a really fun arena mode that is sort of like what you’re talking about , they don’t use the “trinity” they have tanky classes dps classes and support classes but no “healers” they have the equivalent of a hp pot that goes off every 3-5 seconds that heals like 10 percent, and if you’re low you just try to kite until you heal enough it’s pretty fun and still has a lot of skill expression
@ na that’s cap bdo PvP is crazy good, I admit servers are pretty bad, but their concepts of combat are unlike any other, and it’s just as balanced as WoW is mmos aren’t balanced around arenas the problem with bdo is the 2 year time gate to be able to play the game and the unsatisfying way you achieve gear by mindlessly grinding 0 challenge mobs for hours

My sub already expired 4 weeks ago and i dont think im coming back unless something fundamentally changes to pvp, same counts for many friends of mine. Sad but true
For triple dps arenas they could add a buff that makes everybody tanky with some things to pick up aroudn the map as you said. Then there is dampening that also reduces with time the effect of the buff.
Solo shuffle and Bg blitz is the only reason i still play wow nowadays , after about 20 years of doing dungeons & raids i am just burnt out , pvp feels fresh to me since DF i never really played arenas before DF only casual bgs for a breath of fresh air , solo shuffle opened a new way for me to play the game and have a different experience the mmr feels ok to me i feel like i always play with ppl the same level as i am yea there is some are too good or too bad but it happens in all games
Shuffle should function exactly like skirmish, if there are healers in queue you play 3s if not you play double dps 2s (with all self healing doubled and off healing 50% or something). Balance makes no difference if you are sitting in queue for 30+ minutes since you likely wont stick around. Having 5 ranked modes is what is cannibalizing the queues imo. Maybe just have Solo, 3s, Blitz
No the problem is they need to make all classes an spec's have an equal opportunity to be good against each other instead of picking favs to give everyone more options
Guy nailed it, there are far superior 'solo' (single player games) which doesn't cost 15$ a month. Accept it Venruki, it's your kind who who've ruined it for everyone else, it's great for streaming and talking to 'chat' while q'ing. Arena, pvp is about strategy, teamwork, communication and coordination, without this is just mashing buttons in the most broken class. Without this intellectual part of the game healers get frustrated and quit since the healer arena experience is win 3 and lose 3 by the weakest player or the 'r1 on alt'. The 'solo' 'lonewolf' mmo player has killed the game, you've played yourselves.

WoW is in a death spiral that can't really be averted. It's a community driven death because no one really reacts well to criticism and the mob mentality is to defend Blizzard and the game because of long standing emotional attachment. It's not even easy to find legitimate critiques anymore because the types of people who would take the time to write up something like that have long since quit or simply have been brow beaten so often that they feel no connection to the community and thus won't put the effort in to expressing criticism. Blizzard will just see huge amounts of people saying how amazing solo shuffle is while the playerbase continues to decline. Obviously people are quitting for a reason, but you'll never hear about it because they've left the room. PVP needs a total overhaul that lowers the barrier to entry significantly, but the community that still plays is extremely hostile to changes like that. The response will always be "lol ur bad git gud" because that is the dominant group in the community now.
Getting rid of or limiting addons and WAs would be more friendly to new players, and make the game way better. Blizzard said they might be gutting addons, which would be huge. The problem is WoW has been out so long and it really overperformed what anyone could have imagined. It's amazing that it's been around for 20 years, but at the same time, a 20 year old game will need so much work to keep it afloat and recover from bleeding out. Might be to little too late.
I totally agree that it will be a community driven death. But I would go further, that same community is often toxic or hostile, almost as if the game was built around them and that there is no space for anyone else. Because they have unlimited time to play the game and therefore to learn the game. No new player can jump in, even at a lower end, and compete on a level playing field. Like you say, most people don't bother complaining nowadays, they just leave and find something else.
I never got why they made solo 3's a six round match. Should've just been the obvious single round in and out. Then healers aren't sitting in a match for however long and dps are waiting absurd queue times. Also, could tone down the toxicity with people taking grudges mid match or flaming less skilled people. So horrible losing mmr and rating cause you play a DH and a healer is boycotting you cause your class is broke "have seen that happen many a time". There are so many examples of things like that, that when you're sitting through six rounds of it tension and attitudes just start to boil. Also give rewards for all brackets not just 3v3. Should have more rewards for hitting lower tiers too besides a dumb title no one will ever use.
Yeah, agreed. I liked Tosan's original idea years ago for SoloQ. 2v2 only with the option to requeue with the same person if you want (like a skirmish but with rating). Let's you meet new people for 3v3 and takes the LFG element out.
You're just trolling for views at this point. You won't push for any change to any system no matter how many people quit. YOU are part of what is killing WoW PvP!!! Supatease is the same
BASED take - make your 3s rating always greater than or equal to your solo shuffle rating. play 0 3s games but still get gladiator. dont have to grind 3s just to push rating with your squad, easily form a 3s team at the same mmr with rss players in your bracket. solo shuffle is actually meaningful and doesn't eliminate the 3s bracket.
The community didn't ask for solo shuffle (6 rounds). The community wanted solo queue for normal arena games. Shuffle sucks and take one healer hostages for 6 rounds. The biggest problem is the queue time....nobody wants to wait longer than the actual gameplay.
I am not very good at pvp but when solo shuffle was avalible in dragonflight It was first time I got 1.8k rating on multiple characters (multiple seasons, and Im continuing this in TWW) Thanks to it I stayed in pvp, I even tried solo rated battlegrounds (when they released in TWW) and got to 2.2k (I did like one rbg earlier in my whole carrer It was nearly impossible to get to any good group without achievment) For me at least this content increased my participation in rated pvp drastically (I am mostly pve player)
I never wanted to play my main (which isn’t S+++ tier every season) with random people against rank 1 multiglads who’ve been grinding 12 hours a day for the last 15 years, abusing the most overpowered fotm specs and comps imaginable. And I’m sure I’m not alone in this. At this point, they should just scrap the concept of rated arena, which has turned into a "clown fiesta." Leave 2v2 and 3v3 as unrated for those players (like 17 or so) who still enjoy it.
You said something in a recent video addressing addons, I think, about how the game is more fun when people make more mistakes - that’s a big thing solo shuffle has going for it, imo, way more mistakes. Agreed with basically everything else you touched on, just wanted to tie in this particular factor. Keep solo shuffle, give it a mount.
Solo shuffle and BG Blitz feels better than any other PvP activity since WOTLK. Needs some tuning, better que times and we're golden. TWW is the first expansion in years that made me even want to try PvP and I'm super happy with this. Same as always, more gaming, less complaining.
Shuffle and now blitz have absolutely negatively affected 3v3. As participation goes up in those modes, it goes down in 3v3. Those are just the numbers. There’s no denying it. The real problem is that those modes are easier and don’t require communication; therefore, all of the mediocre and beginner players have no incentive to join 3v3. There aren’t enough reasons to take a risk and try it.They all left for the other modes and mmr just doesn’t work without enough people to push inflation. Now the only people left are the glads, R1s, the people who were close to glad before and still want to get it, and the few people who don’t care about their rating and are just here for friends or love of the game. Those almost-glads will almost certainly never achieve it because the bracket gets more top-heavy every season, pushing them closer to the center of the bell curve. Any new people that try to play run into glads at 1700. They see no room or reason to get good or invest time when they can just yolo in the blitz. Personally, i hate the blitz and shuffle because its robbing the 3v3 bracket of players. I wish they never were implemented. Btw, if you’re a pvper, interested in playing group content, a genuinely nice person, and looking for a guild, let me know. We have teams queueing every night
I Q solo shuffle because is the only thing people are playing, and I hate every second of it because I’m forced to play healer due to time constraints. It is absolutely a disheartening experience to have 3 games go 5-1 your way, then have a shitfest lobby and lose all 3 games worth of rating in bad game.
You can't "just log on and play". If that was the case, I'd love shuffle. Personally I usually play maybe 1 hour a day, but when I'm 2400-2600 in shuffle and my que times are 1hr, I have to log off before I even get a game. Shuffle would be great if it had 3-5min que times, but it doesn't.
Blizzard being so quiet about pvp is what is ruining pvp. Literally not even giving us a glimmer of hope or anything at the end of the tunnel. Everyone is telling them what's wrong. 2v2 and 3v3 is way to hard to just join its like best of the best just dominate it at the moment. Solo just doesn't reward anything cool. Blizzard is keeping titles and mounts in 3v3 as a hope to get ppl there... but honestly if glad mounts go to solo 3v3 is dead in the water.
Since shuffle was introduced in dragonflight pre-patch i was saying in general chat this will kill 3v3, now since they introduce Blitz in TWW + shuffle = 3v3 is totally dead, the reason for that is super simple the pvp playerbase got divided and THATS ALL lets say person with good exp in 3s searching for partners to push glad he cant find anything and in the end he give up, and start to que shuffle and blitz and perhaps mby even 2s also this divide make 3v3 even harder cos less people play = no mmr inflation and in the end at 2200 you will start playing vs multi rank1 glads and etc. Blizzard made shuffle and blitz with the idea to increase the pvp playerbase, but they dont realise that is not the case and they are losing that playerbase even more instead of increasing it !!! Lets all throw the fault on those streamers also who was advertising soloque before it existed and blizz listen to them
Since you can have a weaker class, weaker spec, weaker gear, weaker crafteds, weaker enchants, weaker gems, weaker teammates and less skill it will always be a shitshow. Edit: Forgot weaker addons and weakauras....
Because of solo shuffle structure Blizz buffed healers, (OVERBUFFED THEM) u can see how they have tons of defensive cds. 2 Pain Suppress, Void shift etc. I used to main shadow priest and play double dps comps in 2v2. Now double dps comps are almost unplayable because of unending defensive/healing OP CDs healers have. And even fewer ppl play other modes. I have to wait 2-3 mins to find a match in 2v2 at 2.1k rating and its almost the end of the season. Shadowlands was broken pvpwise but at least ppl played and had fun. TWW seems fun as well except for the OP-healer design and that pvp now revolves only around solo shuffle.
But thats just it... You can't just log on and play. you can log on and wait though. Just need a way to fix queue times. Maybe a 1v1 arena you can jump in while waiting for queue to fill. So as soon as a second dps joins the queue in your rating bracket you can opt in to dueling tournament or something.
It's pretty easy to me, I am not good enough to reach glad so all the rewards that I am able to get, I can get in shuffle, and that without the hassle of finding players who I vibe with who also play classes that are good together with my main while at the same time I am not forced to play in a bracket that is hyper-competitive
Idk queuing 3’s with the boys is a blast. Solo just doesn’t have that feeling. But the boys are all quitting cause inflation in the 3’s ladder makes you feel like you’ve gotten worse at the game cause your rating is worse than normal even though you’re better than you’ve ever been. If they could fix 3v3 inflation or rework it to give it a feeling of progression or make rewards more attainable that would be dope. I like both solo and 3’s they just need to fix 3v3 instead of the old inflation model
Man i only play wow,(only pvp) especially elem shaman. Because this is the only mmorpg that has many abilities and can be fun and complex with decisions to make and a vast array of spells to use and not an oversimplified 5 buttons faceroll on keyboard game like the dumb shallow other mmorpgs out there. There are easier specs with less abilities, play those. Or there are other games with simple combat and 5-10 buttons / class. I only started playing wow in dragonflight because of the number of spells to use and talent tree like spec system. For many player the “the 200 buttons” you mention is a good thing, and there are other players like me who probably only play wow cuz of this.
The amount of buttons never really changed in pvp tho? It's pretty much been same since arena came out and even in vanilla. Ppl are just better at the game. Most classes still have very simple rotations in pvp.
I actually like pressing 200 buttons. You know your brain cells work when you need to decide what to actually press instead of having 4 buttons like on mobas
Me and my mate tried battleground blitz for the first time this expansion (we're 20 year players on and off pvp) and I have to say I really enjoyed the BGs. Arena for me has evolved so much in terms of spells and utility that i just don't recognise it anymore and like the twitter guy said - I play League or R6 if i want to play a pvp game. I'm not good at Wow arena and more importantly I have no interest in trying to get better like i do with league or R6. Hopefully the start of S2 with the tier token change will see a big surge of players playing pvp again, but I think arena is great to watch every now and then but I have no interest in the mode anymore.
Total conspiracy I have no proof, but what if the bg blitz and the SS queues aren’t long because the players, but because it takes blizzard forever to make the instance, ran normal dg with 5 man premade group and after every single one we had a queue from anywhere between 3-10 minutes AS A 5 MAN!
I play wow mostly for the social aspect of the game. I enjoy pushing rating and accomplishing goals with friends. I played pvp as main thing since vanilla and I have 2.6k+ xp in arena&rbg and I love the game. But Solo suffle feels so lonely and in the end I dont have anyone to share the good times with. I often sit in que for 20 min, miss it while 1min afk and start que again. So many times i just shut the game after missing the que as I cba wait again. Im still lucky to have friends to play 3s and i have big btag friend base to choose from. But i feel like the game shifting into solo based mode is just killing it for me. And now it seems like blizz format is totally destroying the rated bg community, just like it did kill the 3s player base after SS release. Sad times for social game imo, anyone agree? (Sorry for typos, english is not my native language)
SS and Blitz are the only reason I still PVP. Random BG's are always premade sweats, it's impossible to get any meaningful rating in 3s unless you know people. It's 100% correct that 3s is more about politics and ties rather then actually being good, there's a lot of gatekeeping and auto-declining, and leaving after first loss in LFG 3s. It's probably fun for people who have a lot of pvp friends, but as someone who only really knows raiders / M+ players, it's impossible to play 3s otherwise. The reason no one plays 3s is because it's not fun, 90% of players who engage with SS now probably won't touch 3s if you remove it, who wants to feel like they're not in the right clique in highschool? Personally i'd quit WoW pvp if SS/blitz went away, it's the only way I get to engage at 2200-2400 rating without being told i'm bad, uninstall, stop queing, etc by angst players. SS definitly needs a glad-esk mount though, same with blitz, just make them different recolors or models entirely, doesn't really matter.
there is an entire subgroup of pvp hardly ever talked about: the big bg premades. this is an entire different beast like a big raid and requires strategies and leadership if the enemy is also premade. I like longer bgs, it reminds me more of wc3.
I'd like to see Shuffle, 2's and 3's to be all put into 1 bracket the same way LoL and other modern thriving games do it. Tries to match 6 Solo players together, after X min in que it expands the criteria and tries to match 2's and a solo player vs another 2's and solo player and after however longer it expands more. This would get the whole community together in 1 bracket, and also incentivizes making friends in your solo que instead of majority of the time your teammate is your enemy.
Arena itself killed world pvp (also dead due to flying mounts) and battlegrounds, which were more fun than arena. Solo shuffle is the best addition it has had.
Solo shuffle putting you in 2s or 3s would be good, and hot take, enable in game voice. Allows for better communication and can help you find partners to play with in regular queue. If youre worried about toxicity mute, but id leave it on every game.
Solo is a good idea. But I'm an older player that only really likes to heal. I've found no matter what I do in Solo I seem to hit a wall where there will be one player who doesn't cc or kick, does horrible dps, and at the end of the 1st round you find out he's the kill target because he's in all greens. Then you play your 6 matches and go 3-3 and get 0 CR...so why bother? The toxicity, the players getting high mmr when they start and have green gear and don't know their class. Thats the issue. I went in greens and crafted and was placed in 2200 mmr...then went 0-18 till I got my 1st win...I wont get the full mog, wont get past 1600 now days because of the issues stated...and just don't enjoy it like I did previous seasons. This season 1 is horrible. Lets not even talk mythic keys...the rage in those from 1 wipe...1st time since burning crusade I started playing a different game to enjoy. Cheers all. Happy holidays.
You are the most delusional player ever, the only thing that make you lose rounds is you. You think you are doing fine blablabla but in reality you are playing terrible and clueless about it. Wake up I could make a new healer and get 2400cr in no time, doesn’t matter how bad people are in solo shuffle, if you are good you will out perform the other healer. With your loser and delusional mentality i can bet my home that you didn’t succes in life too.
The q times are way to long and like you say, the biggest problemis, you start solo with full green at 1.9-2kmmr. The other playee see this and just pve you down, especially if your a caster in a meele lobby. You then lose many games to get at 1.5-1.6mmr to finaly wins some games and get some gear.
Reward gold to healers in soloq depending on the rating (higher rating more gold). This way you incentivize healer partizipation, even from people that only play pve. Queue times fixed.
Yeah solo shuffle killed pvp. Not the people in group finder being "1.1k cr,glad xp required",which quit after the first loss and you have to spend another 30 mins looking for healer. Back in shadowlands i would struggle to get past 1.8k cr cause just in order to play i would go through 3 healers in a single session, which may or may not would be dead weight half of the time. With ss and blitz at least i get to actually get to play. And turns out,i got 3k mmr now in blitz. And even at that mmr,the game feels WAYYYYYY less frustrating than facing multiglads in 1.6k one after the other. Bottomline is, this is a community created problem, born out of extreme gatekeeping. I left that part of the game and im never looking back. May all you "multiglads" hard struggling at 1.5k after your 4th reroll of the season have a "fun" 2025 :D
I prefer regular 3s but as Ven correctly said it's become way more gatekeepy than it used to. I quit the game for a couple years so don't really have a ton of friends but the ones that I do have, it isn't easy as grown adults with jobs to always have the same schedule. I have achievements and it's still hard to get in groups and then even once you do, if someone has a bad game people leave instantly. This is what makes SS most appealing, you can play when you want! It's what makes games like League eternally popular is that people can log on and play ranked when they want. Definitely need to find a way to speed up queue times though.
They have Balanced around m+ and solo q. And people are shocked that the game is ass. Just let wow go no need to follow the game anymore. Devs don't know that they are doing we are just cash for them.
solo shuffle and bg blitz are the only reason my sub has not been cancelled....
This for sure, for someone who plays like 3h tops daily and somedays nothing or more. Having kids work and wife balance these solo ways are the best.
L
Same. I like to login, play some games, log off. No need to find teammates every time that you never played with before just to get rolled by teams that play together all year around
same
Yet it’s ruined actual 3s bracket
Reward effort and skill, not the loudest compainer.
As people's time has been less and less a thing , and as there are more and more BETTER games on teh market, Retail is stuck in literal limbo.
still the best pvp out there for an mmo..
Yeah it still hits like no other game for me, love wow arena @@quizkill
Blizzard has 6 interns overseeing whole pvp aspects of this game. That's it.
There are a lot of better games at the Market, but most of them are Singleplayer or story driven RPG games.
MMORPGs and RTS games are neglected by overwhelming majority of game Developers
@NarutoUzomaki65 true, but I love the casual competition of wow PvP and even RTS games, I'm a fairly high rank ww but I still take it casually
Sitting in LFG and getting declined over and over was the worst. I've had way more games in solo.
Is it tho? How long do you sit queues, add it up over a whole day. You think you wouldn't have found someone to play with in 2s or 3s ? lol.
As a DPS? Hell no, trying to get groups as DPS for pvp was awful, unless you want to play some awful double DPS comp in 2s.
Cause u bad 😂
Solo shuffle and bg blitz are the only reasons wow pvp is kinda alive. The systems are not perfect (healers should not have separated MMR imo, and the class balance is always terrible in wow), but the game (I mean PvP but M+ feels the same tbh) is unplayable without solo Q (for non R1 players).
The biggest problem is the Q times, they are way too long and killed the game. Fix the Qtimes, fix the game (save the cheerleader save the world).
no healer wants to play with 99% of the dps that q up is the thing
@@chrisrayburn-u2j Yeah, everybody knows that, even Blizzard knows that (separated MMR one of the main reasons why no healer wants to play). Unfortunatly they (Blizz) dont give a sh1t about it :(
Than what MMO has good class balance in PvP?
@@MetalAndor I dont know if there is any, WoW is my only MMO since TBC (tried some others but never lasted long). I can remember much better balanced times tho (was not perfect but better). But what is your point with this? There is no other so they should not evben try?
"solo shuffle requires no skill"
the only people i see say that shit r the guys who ONLY q the SAME COMP for the past 15 years.
congrats dude u got "real gladiator" after playing jungle for 15k games, using voice chat the entire way
Yeah I got 2.4 k in dragonflight and apparently that doesn’t count they tell me because it’s solo shuffle. Fuck them lol
Yes and? Thats what its all about man, hell 2k 3v3 is more impressive than 2k7 SS
I think you misunderstand that point. Playing jungle with voice requires skill and coordination. Playing shuffle requires doing most aoe dmg while being the most disruptive. Shuffle is more like m+ / pve than actual arena.
@ nah
@PuddiStarcraft2 it's not. Noone cares about 3s, it's the same 100 dudes who que with the same guys on alts
The only people that wanted premade arena were the ones selling boosts.. no wonder they don't like it now, they're all that's left.
True.
Bullshit, we wanted a solo QUEUE system, not this shuffle abomination. Besides, the reasons boosts exist because of the rewards system.
@@Altruistic-General That's what shuffle is.. you just do 6 individual games instead of one, because the rng of bad lobbies is worse in the latter.
Would you rather queue once for 6 games or queue 6 times for 6 games?
Legit the worst take ever lmao
What about selling achievements for raid ? What about selling M+ keys boost ? What about selling the 6hitiest (Mark of Supreme) to get easy PvP set ? If all was* balanced you can't sell arena rating just like that !
04:05 - summary why 90% of pvp playerbase (who aren't pvp steamers) don't wanna play 2s and 3s
@@TotalRejection Thatll never happen though. If every PvPer quit tomorrow blizzard devs would literally cheer.
Exactly man why all thés kind OF wow WTF plunger storm WTF classic CATACLYSME lmao
Mate its 2025 there are no new players to get
Let me summarize this video: rank 1 gladiators with perma partners complain nobody gives a shit about 3s
Solo Shuffle is what got me into PVP so I love it. My top issues by far are :
If you can't play more than 30 minutes at a time it becomes a you-problem, not a problem with the game.
You are so right about 3s gatekeeping. Look at all the 3k xp players that cant touch r1 because they arent in the club.
I think Solo Shuffle is one of the best things Blizzard did last times.
Solo q is the best thing that ever happen. It gives a chance to q arena beside a normal life with work, kids, friends and stuff. The People getting older and dont are avaible allday to find groups and q 3s.
30 min queue tho, are we all playing that much or are we waiting more than actually play. Questions questions.
You are all playing a "waiting room simulator" 😂😂
At 2.3k literally max 10 min que right now
@chris92like1 why would you want to wait a 10 min queue...6 min max all the time would be acceptable for a game we have to pay sub....
@ so u Tell me what i have to accept and what not ? Aight nice 👍
@@chris92like1 and yeah 98% of all players are playing at 2.3k where they enjoy a 10 min que 😂😂. Aight nice 👍
The foundations are rotten, they need stripping out and cleansing with new and healthy wood as you cannot build greatness if your bedrock is brittle......
like for 99% of people who cant make team))) by many reasons so shuffle is the only answer now
I agree, 3’s is just infinitely more fun to me than shuffle. Nothing like queuing 3s with the boys
Well said, I agree.
I agree
100% I agree. Trading quality for convenience.
I don't really like shuffle for three reasons:
- q times
- the format with current class/pvp design
- other arena modes suffered
But thats just me and also a reason why i don't play retail anymore, i still hope they change their design in the future and just redesign everything, from class design to how cc used to be, get rid of all the micro cc bs and make it more of a strategic battle instead of a PvE dps race.
The problem with R1's being gatekept is not a Blizzard issue but a player issue sadly. You can go look at any other similar game or a private server of a low pop and the top10 leaderboards are always gatekept by the same group of people in order to keep any non-friends or unknown people away from the cutoff
If they got rid of shuffle I’d quit wow. It’s all I play
soloshuffle is best thing they have done ... i saw soooo many of this "high skilled" arena players playing like trash when they not getting boosted by friends .... that alone is gold for me seing this toxic ego players getting ****** bye non exp players and cry XD
I feel Devs need to focus more on solo game play. I would like to see a mode for DPS only. Ranked team death match 10v10
FF14 and Teso are FF14 and Teso .... Wow have 4 version a classix fckin usless cataclysme a usless plunder shiiit ... And other ... Blizzard as to much split the community.
I only got "good" at PvP because my friends liked PvP. I cared more about playing with friends, so the idea of Solo Shuffle is silly to me, but I'm aware of why that is, and I understand why people like it.
you have friends who dont have kids and work? wow luxury
Yup woulda been 1000 times better, and kept the whole thing way more active and social.
We begged for solo Q, but got shuffle. Tragic.
Insanely good takes, you are a legend to the PvP community
It’s the complexity and cooldown reliance that has ruined pvp for many. It’s the primary reason why classic is so popular.
This game is a cancer. Shuffle specifically
Win a lobby 5-1 at 2k cr and get 38points
Lose a lobby 2-4 and lose 50 points.
See the problem? Not to mention when you get a weak healer or dps and go 3-3 and get 0.
Sitting 25-40min ques… for that? The game is a tragic mess and the only ones playing are getting paid too or streaming or are on the nostalgia train and are too scared to get off.
@venruki 5:30 black desert has a really fun arena mode that is sort of like what you’re talking about , they don’t use the “trinity” they have tanky classes dps classes and support classes but no “healers” they have the equivalent of a hp pot that goes off every 3-5 seconds that heals like 10 percent, and if you’re low you just try to kite until you heal enough it’s pretty fun and still has a lot of skill expression
too bad black desert is horribly unbalanced trash which also has engine issues leading to you getting cc'd in super armor often
I was in a SS that has 2 tank pallies and 4 dps
Thanks for the analysis! I need some advice: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
Shuffle would be good if you only played 1 match,
Being stuck in a game for 30mins sucks
My sub already expired 4 weeks ago and i dont think im coming back unless something fundamentally changes to pvp, same counts for many friends of mine. Sad but true
For triple dps arenas they could add a buff that makes everybody tanky with some things to pick up aroudn the map as you said. Then there is dampening that also reduces with time the effect of the buff.
I need more rewards for playing healer in shuffle. I'd play way more
Solo shuffle and Bg blitz is the only reason i still play wow nowadays , after about 20 years of doing dungeons & raids i am just burnt out , pvp feels fresh to me since DF i never really played arenas before DF only casual bgs for a breath of fresh air , solo shuffle opened a new way for me to play the game and have a different experience the mmr feels ok to me i feel like i always play with ppl the same level as i am yea there is some are too good or too bad but it happens in all games
I want solo shuffle. I don't think it killed anything
I'm so grateful for Solo BGB. That is what I've always wanted, solo RBGs. Some of us PvPers don't even like Arena so there's also that.
No the problem is they need to make all classes an spec's have an equal opportunity to be good against each other instead of picking favs to give everyone more options
We've come full circle. PVP was deadge, we need Solo Q. Now that we have Solo Q: it killed pvp.
Nobody wanted solo shuffle, solo q on the other hand everyone wanted just not in this form
"I don't like this gameplay style, so it has killed the game, despite the gameplay style in question being more successful by several orders of magnituted than the other gameplay styles and attracting people that have never bothered before."
@@NDKfrl Can you not read or have general awareness of the situation? PvP participation is gone now as the 'soloers' have quite since they're mainly the dad with 5 jobs and can't work out a way to do basic communication with other human beings.
Annnddd r1 streamers on alts at 1800...
Literally the point of the video is people complaining 'arena doesn't feel the same'
@@vaelicusthepaladin "I don't like this style of gameplay, so I'm blaming it for the same issue that reoccurs every expansion, with the difference of a subset of the community remaining engaged in the style of gameplay I don't like."
Let's you meet new people for 3v3 and takes the LFG element out.
if it was just 1 match id play it
You're just trolling for views at this point. You won't push for any change to any system no matter how many people quit. YOU are part of what is killing WoW PvP!!! Supatease is the same
They say "eat the rich", but it's time we eat supa and ven.
Solo shuffle and rated blitz saved the game for me. I have never played the game as much as i'am doing now.
We need upgraded rewards for shuffle and blitz. We need more rewards like every 100 raiting. Adding mount for both need to happen.
I have no issues with SOlo shuffle. I just can't wait 45 mins to play 1 shuffle. I'd just play another game.
You can't "just log on and play". If that was the case, I'd love shuffle. Personally I usually play maybe 1 hour a day, but when I'm 2400-2600 in shuffle and my que times are 1hr, I have to log off before I even get a game. Shuffle would be great if it had 3-5min que times, but it doesn't.
they could do solo queue 3v3 like on warmane instead of shuffle, but the the comps/matchups aren't always fair. Same problem with shuffle lobbies tho
Wait--there are spec-based rewards for solo shuffle now???? Is that what Ven means?
what killed pvp for me was the mmr cap at the start of season
no, blizzard ruined pvp in wow
No, Blizzard fucking with the MMR did
Because of solo shuffle structure Blizz buffed healers, (OVERBUFFED THEM) u can see how they have tons of defensive cds.
Shuffle is what's keeping pvp on life support. Participation has been going down for a long time on it's own, it's not shuffles fault
the number of times my 3s group disbanded cuz a guy got shuffle pop is like 200+
But thats just it...
200 buttons to press ruined PvP not soloshuffle
I don't even mind 200 buttons, but multiple fast reaction and having to play at 300 amp
This would get the whole community together in 1 bracket, and also incentivizes making friends in your solo que instead of majority of the time your teammate is your enemy.
wow what a great idea, lets split up the player base even more to be waiting 50 times longer in queues.
What if 3s rewards are per spec same as soloq? Anything that would break?
people gave up on wow an solo shuffle when they realized that they have to wait 1h que for a game, not because its a bad system
Agreed, solo shuffle and Blitz best mods, and most playing mods. They should definitely add mounts.
What u mean pinging i have enuff keybinds as it this im using shift, alt, ctrl all mousebuttons and u want me to ping??
World PvP is the shit. My fav. Blizzard has just never capitalized on it. It could be done so well with capturing zones etc.
They have Balanced around m+ and solo q. And people are shocked that the game is ass. Just let wow go no need to follow the game anymore. Devs don't know that they are doing we are just cash for them.
