the superman vs metallo was kind of like an incredible hulk situation. evil general doesn't like hero with special powers, but his daughter is with said hero. his forces try to stop the hero but their bullets are nothing against him so they deploy a machine that turns out to be evil and have somewhat similar powers to hero, then hero saves the day and they realize that the thing they created to combat the hero was going on a power trip.
