A documentary film was made on Baahubali director SS Rajamouli. He also directed the famous RRR(pretty strong worthy reasons for being popular) I mean James Cameron watched it twice and also Eega too a film directed by him. All these including documentary are available on Netflix

Another movie by him (also in Telugu) is a movie called "Eega" which translates to "house fly" (you'll have the best time if you go into the movie totally blind). I saw you get a lot of RRR recommendations so I thought I'd throw in a different Rajamouli movie in there for you :)

Because both movies cover the same topic of British colonialism in India, but are polar opposites on how they approach the topic, they make for an interesting set of companion movies. Fiction vs Based on true story. Over-the-top vs Completely grounded. Dance numbers vs Completely serious tone, no song or dance. And most important of all: RRR depicts the British as one-dimensional villains whereas Sardar Udham has a very nuanced tone to it. Yet it is in Sardar Udham that you truly see just how _evil_ the British Imperial Rule was. RRR's depiction doesn't even come close. Maybe because in Sardar Udham they are depicting stuff that actually happened. Frankly, Sardar Udham might be the finest movie ever made in India. But hey, that is just me. My tastes gravitate towards movies like The Imitation Game and First Man. Similarly in Anime, as you can guess from my profile name.
