Thank you to Truth Wanted and the ACA for organizing this fundraiser for us and choosing us to host the first live episode of any ACA show since the pandemic. The show Friday was amazing. Thank you to the ACA board for stepping in to make sure the show still happened despite UTSA doing their level best to drown us in bureaucracy with all their last minute changes and regulations. It was an absolute shit show but we appreciate that you didn't hold that against us and had a plan B and plan C in effect to make sure the fundraiser happened no matter what UTSA threw in our path or where the show was held. Thank you for taking my call on Talk Heathen and Cody's on Atheist Experience, we enjoyed being on the shows today. This fundraiser will help us so much, as I explained on Talk Heathen there are at least 25 religious organizations at UTSA I am aware of and only one, the SSA, for nonreligious students. If there's no SSA there's nothing for them. Being an atheist in conservative Texas is hard enough without also thinking you're the only one and no one understands you. Besides community we provide a voice and representation for secular values and interests at UTSA. We were once one of the largest most active chapters of SSA in the US before the pandemic dealt us a heavy blow. We basically started this semester over from scratch, after 2 years most of the previous members graduated or no longer attend so we are trying to attract a whole new member base. Besides enthusiasm and hard work it takes money to rebuild an organization so we were beyond grateful when ObjectivelyDan approached us with the idea of the live show and fundraiser. If you can donate to the fundraiser and its still open please do...if you are reading this in the future after the ACA fundraiser has closed you can still donate to our Cash app $ssautsa or Venmo @ssautsa
Fundraiser for what? Atheism is INFAMOUS the world over for having ZERO ANSWERS. That's why no atheist has a RATIONAL, step-by-step atheist explanation for reality. That's because there isn't one. You might as well say a mud puddle produced the human hand. That’s about as good as it gets for atheist logic. Atheism is easy destroyed by the facts: 1. You’re DYING - not evolving: We do nothing but LOSE INFORMATION: Over time, We LOSE INFORMATION re our 20/20 eyesight. We LOSE INFORMATION til we lose some or all of our hearing. We LOSE INFORMATION til our health is gone. We LOSE INFORMATION to the point that we come to our end/heat death. We can’t GAIN INFORMATION (evolution); we only dissipate/LOSE INFORMATION til we’re no more. So much for evolving into something better ;) Such hasn’t happened in 10,000 yrs re any human, plant or animal. NEVER has any new anatomy occurred. 2. Whoever produced the human being and ALL the co-existent DESIGNED bodily systems (circulatory, respiratory, reproductive, pulmonic, digestive, skeletal, muscular, nervous, body (skin), etc., etc.) intertwined in co-dependent order in the human body AND in animals, is required to have INTELLIGENCE, POWER, PURPOSE, RESOURCES & MEANS that are FAR BEYOND that of mankind. Humans don’t have a clue as to how to duplicate any of it from NOTHING. The only rational cause for what we observe is almighty God, who produced the world out of NOTHING. 3. Atheist causes for the universe are IMPOSSIBLE to have produced the human being and 10 million different species (e.g. Star dust, mud puddles, moist rocks, Primordial Soup, NOTHING & non-existent aliens w/ no divine power to create/design anything). 4. All matter is DYING/FINITE (can be measured/counted; has a beginning and an end) and that’s why you can’t point to anything INFINITE (can’t be measured/counted; has no beginning or end). The cause for DYING/FINITE NATURE can't be just more DYING/FINITE NATURE. The cause is required to be a NON-DYING/INFINITE SUPERNATURAL entity. That entity is known as “God.” 5. There’s NEVER been any evidence IN REAL TIME for any atheist idea (e.g. big bang, abiogenesis, mistakes (mutations) gaining in complexity/new information, star formation, evolution). That’s because NONE OF IT exists or is even possible to exist. Atheism debunked; God proved. Summary: God is the only option, because God ALONE has the INTELLIGENCE, POWER, PURPOSE, RESOURCES & MEANS to create/design/produce time/space/matter/energy (DYING/FINITE NATURE) simultaneously. Space is required for matter to exist & time is required for anything to exist and matter/energy is required for anything to exist, but none of them can exist without the other. Only God could produce them all simultaneously. God takes credit for creating time/space/matter/energy in the very first verse of the Bible - where we would expect it: "In the beginning (time), God created the heavens (space) and the earth (matter/energy)." - Genesis 1:1
You are so worth it! Getting to young minds which are more flexible is where there needs to be more reason, rationality, and critical thinking to undo the damage religion causes, and access to support.
I'm SO glad I didn't watch this live. Very glad to be able to jump over some of the callers. I appreciated Caller, David-AZ and our hosts for bringing it up and reinforcing it. Yay!

@Creator The semantics are the same when it comes to a bible thumper. Atheists aren't making the claim parents are not the "creator" of their children. Per Oxford. Creator: Noun "a person or thing that brings something into existence." AND "Used as a name for God." Two can play your definition game. Better luck next timer, thumper. :-)
Much Love for John-(CA) 21:31 ...he brings such shine and brilliance with all his non-arguments, with such fervour and passion, amazing.. He teaches me it's better to love then hate..
@thebestplayermanguydood It’s something that creates it. Not a creator. The things we know about have something that creates them. Not The things we know about have a creator.
@thebestplayermanguydood "that cause is a creator" Prove that the universe has not always existed... Prove that the big bang was not simply one of an infinite series of expansions and contractions... Prove that even if there was a creator that it has to be a God... and not a highly intelligent lifeform from another universe or dimension... Prove that time does not run in an endless loop, the future eventually seeding our past... Prove its not simply something that no one has even imagined or thought of yet...
@thebestplayermanguydood explain to me why you Christians always want to talk about everything has the creator ,but when it comes to God/Gods he doesn't? All of you religious people out there that use that argument ,stop doing it because you make yourself look stupid🤣
@thebestplayermanguydood I don't have to. I just suggested it as a possibility... The thing is, you're assuming that we have the sum total of all knowledge... We don't. In another few thousand years mankind may have a simple explanation... But just because we don't know now, does not mean a creator did it...
I struggled for a while, deciding if the ideas that religions have developed since their scripture was written are more or less Canon than the scripture, like can i tell Catholics they're wrong about abortion according to the Bible, or does it matter since they have other church teachings that say it's wrong. Then i realized the whole problem is moot: someone made up what scripture says, and someone made up what the other dogma says, and they're both silly little fairy stories that aren't applicable to reality anyway 🤷
Wow. Sounds like a severe B12 deficiency Aiden was dealing with! Doctors will miss it as they are not trained in vitamins and minerals. My mom and I suffered with this and she became suicidal bc it REALLY is a nightmare. We were able to treat her with mega doses of b vitamins and DAILY B12 injections. Looking back, she had seen neurologists, cardiologists and others who all missed this! It was on her labs all along the just didn't know what they were looking for. Happy to say, she's no longer in a wheelchair and no longer suicidal. I hope this random story might help someone. Having symptoms similar to those Aiden describes.
44:33 You can feel the train starting to shake off the rails right about here. Literally muted this guy 5 seconds later. There's a difference between arguing from honest passion and arguing because your terrified of what it might mean if you're wrong. Here's what #2 sounds like.
Good Questions: 1. Why do we not allow a thirteen-year-old child to adopt a baby while we force a thirteen-year-old to give birth to a baby? 2. What does a fertilized egg, embryo, or fetus want? How can anyone know what a fertilized egg wants?
I've been an atheist for most of my life, so this isn't religion based. 13 year olds can't sign contracts, including adoption contracts. There isn't a State in the Union that has a 13 year old being of age of consent. Youngest in the US is 16. Therefore it's rape under 16 and therefore abortion is legal in those under 16 cases in every State and that's not on the docket to be changed. And if you're a parent that has raised a kid so badly that they get pregnant at 13, you should have your kid taken away and you should go to jail. In fact, they should both be neutered so they don't do it again. Same thing with people that have repeated convenience abortions when they could have simply kept their pants on. Question: What's the difference between aborting a fetus that can be recognized as healthy with all its fingers and toes and with a healthy mind and heart....versus giving birth and just throwing the newborn in the trash ten seconds later? Answer: Nothing. They are both murdering a recognizable human. If it's a recognizable and healthy human fetus in the womb, it's the same as killing an adult human in a coma without knowing their wishes. Just because a living human can't express what they want or eat and breath on their own doesn't mean we should be allowed to kill them. Unless you'd also like to execute everyone in a coma on a ventilator and IV's that can't draw their own breath, the mentally ill or mentally disabled that don't know what they want or can't legally give their consent. Same as a recognizable human in the womb. Hell, I don't even know what I want sometimes. Should I be executed? No birth control is 100% effective without surgery. Otherwise, consent to carrying a child to term starts the second a guy and girl take their pants off and get busy. They are both equally responsible as long as it's not rape, incest, the mother's life is at risk, or it's deformed and is going to have a horrible life. If any of those are the case, abortion should be allowed. Otherwise, it's a good life lesson and if they aren't ready to have a kid, give it up for adoption and make a profit. There's plenty of couples out there that can't have kids that would be more than happy to take a newborn off their hands.
@@michaelkirk4056 I can argue against every one of your points but I will just address the most obvious. You asked what is the difference between aborting a healthy fetus and killing a newborn. Understand that most abortions are done before the fetus is little more than a clump of cells. A bit later it resembles a lizard much more than a human. Their brain is not hooked up to their body yet as their nervous system is not complete. To compare that to a newborn is ridiculous, as a baby can feel pain. Late term abortions, at which point the fetus’ brain is connected to its body, are only done for two reasons. If the fetus is not viable, has major defects that are not survivable, there is no reason to put the mother through the risks of continuing the pregnancy. The other reason late term abortions are done is if the woman’s life is in danger. In those cases if the fetus has not been damaged by the woman’s serious health condition, it is delivered and cared for just like any preemie baby.
@@michaelkirk4056' and therefore abortion is legal in those under 16 cases in every State and that's not on the docket to be changed. ' You might want to take a look at some of the bills lately... They are planning on making it illegal in cases of rape or incest as well... "NewsWorldAmericas Arkansas’s top law official defends banning abortion even in cases of incest and rape of minors" "May 4, 2022 - Of those 13 states, Arkansas is one of 10 that make no exceptions if a person - even a minor - becomes pregnant as a result of rape or incest."

To Aidan: much love and mutual sympathy! I myself am diagnosed with narcolepsy but have a constellation of undiagnosed worsening symptoms that reached a point that I am unable to work for over a year, yet can't get disability yet (age + "unlisted" dx). You're not alone! ❤️ Edit: while my very religious mother is no longer living to cause me more distress, I get that part too.... Her "solution" when I was first dx with N (type 2) was that if I would quit using the stimulants that the Dr prescribed, my body would "fix" itself....
Believers believe their beliefs are them! When attacking (generally asking) them of why this how that, the believer feels you are questioning their own being. How would you feel if I asked: Why do you exist, how do you know if you are worthy to exist or are true? Its not very nice when you think about it. The problem is that beliefs aren't the person. They are seperate things. IF a believer stops believing, they haven't lost some or all of themselves, they have merely stopped believing in that unsubstantiated thing. That's why they take it very personally, that's why they feel they are being attacked. When merely we are attacking their ridiculous absurd beliefs.

They're more exercises in factual correction, rather than debate. Theists think they lend legitimacy to their favourite cosmic psycho, but their flawed excuses are as worthless as parachutes on a submarine.
Isn't it amazing that the U.K., which for the first time in its history is more secular than religious, has a National Health Service which covers all ailments, large or small from cradle to grave free of charge whilst the U.S. a country obsessed with religion makes vast amounts of money from the suffering of others? My spouse has had 5 major operations, she is now in her 70s and, thanks to the N.H.S. enjoys excellent health and we still live in a beautiful house with good pensions and a very good lifestyle. Give me secularism any time.
1:02:40 This is just so infuriating. Adults should NOT need to be hand held through this level of critcal thinking and inquire. "Can intuition be wrong?" "Yes" "How can you tell when it's wrong?" "Shit....I never thought of that!" I mean...my 5 year old niece literally does better than this. Seriously...5 years old. These people are out there voting and this is the bar a politician needs to clear to get their vote.
These people and their interests and views deserved to be represented as much as anyone's so I dont see whats the problem here. Politics are not there to make the most bestest optimalest decisions possible they are there to represent their electorate and make decisions according to it's wishes, needs, views, interests, goals, whatever. So no matter whether you believe you have a skydaddy or you believe you are entitled to your personal pronouns, you can vote and be represented. Period.
@@godfreyofbouillon966 I was in no way attacking his right to vote based on his beliefs. I was attacking the MASSIVE deficit of self inquire that led to a grown as man being impressed with a rebuttle that boils down to "What if you're wrong." That he had taken the time to think through this, and felt he had enough to call in....he NEVER considered "Intuition isnt always reliable." It wasnt that he considered it and had a defense....HE HAD NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT IT. So this guy has been running around basing world decisions on intuition while never considering the fact that intuition is not exactly reliable...especially when dealing with power hungry humans who will lie twice with every breathe. Never said he couldnt or shouldnt vote. I simply pointed out that this guy is who politicians cater to. On average, THIS GUY is the gate keeper of our democracy. It's from average jackasses like this upon which the guiding forces of our country draw their power. I'm simply pointing out that the bar to convince this guy of something is abysmally low. Am I wrong? Should I be MORE impressed with a guy who is sincerely in awe of the rebuttle "How can you tell when intuition is wrong?" Should I be more impressed with a grown ass adult who can be out reasoned by my niece? Should I be praising his prowess and intelectual achievements and encouraging him to use this same level of critical thinking when assessing public policies? Or am I maybe justified in being pissed that this guy isnt doing more heavy lifting intelectually before making decisions? ffs I am NOT wrong for publically demanding better from my fellow citizens and you should apologize for strawmanning me.
So sorry for Aiden- it is shocking to me that someone cannot afford health care is a civilised country. I live in a place where all health care is free for everyone. I realise how fortunate I am.
I understand your point and agree but I would point out that healthcare is never really free. If you are in the UK as I am, healthcare is "free" at the point of use. Meaning everyone over 18 pays NI, even the unemployed who effectively have it deducted from their benefits. NI contributions pay for the NHS.
@@MilesDavisKDAB Of course health care has to be paid for somehow- but it is a fairer system to allow everyove to have the same access to health care- no matter what your financial position.
@@MilesDavisKDAB and that means that even the unemployed have a healthcare!!!! Most unemployed in america don't have it so any disise is a death sentence.
I also live in a place where we have a free health care. Last time I used it I also realized how fortunate I am to be a normal regular person with a job who can afford private health care because the free health care is performed by overworked underpaid doctors in understaffed clinics and the quality often pretty terrible. I hope more doctors will find good jobs in private clinics because I wish well to people doing such important job. But that of course is gonna leave "free" clinics even more understaffed.
@@godfreyofbouillon966 Our NHS also has it's issues but my encounters with it have been consistently positive. The one time I had a private consultation I was given an incredibly bad prognosis which turned out to be completely wrong. I'm smart enough to realise that all private health care is not perfect and all state funded (not free) health care is not bad. IMO all healthcare should be state funded and every effort should be made to provide consistently excellent service to all.
That last guy is clearly a charismatic wannabe guru/cut leader trying to garner a following. He's used to being able to say platitudinal gibberish in a calming tempo to entrance the weak-minded, and did not come prepared to handle people capable of seeing through his non-talk.
We shouldn't let them use the term "pro-life". The people that support a woman's right to choose are not pro-death. They may not even be pro-abortion. The homest terms for the discussion/debate are pro-choice and anti-choice.

The caller at 21:40 says overturning roe v. Wade is good until they have to raise taxes to pay for welfare, Medicaid, adoption agencies, and foster care. Im sure he wont adopt a few hundred kids.
I was raised JW and left at 18. The main thing, other than the shunning policy, is the anti-secular education position of the organization. That alone disqualifies any 'teaching' from them in my mind. It truly is a religion of isolation and misery. It will take time, but things get better as long as you work towards a goal and DO NOT dwell on what what they may be thinking of your decision to leave. Their numbers are down, BTW.
That’s hard going at such a young age but the fact you did that shows how much inner self confidence and strength you have, if feeling flat remember you took a courageous step and we’re able to move forward despite their attempts to wreck you - hope you’re doing fine now 💪
@thebestplayermanguydood By this definition there are many creators, not just one. Also, the argument that everything has to have been created would, if accepted, mean that there can be no ultimate (uncreated) creator. So if the argument is for an ultimate creator, it is self-refuting.
THANK YOU MATT for pointing out that pregnancy is NOT TRIVIAL!!! And yes, it has been and CONTINUES TO BE TRIVIALIZED!!! That's missing the point of the analogy. Loaded questions like that tend to take more time to answer than you're given so you can avoid the trap, hence the usual demand to answer the "wife beating" analogy with "yes or no", not allowing anything else.
Oh, and Art was _horribly_ wrong in using that as an analogy, because atheisttheist is a true dichotomy that doesn't smuggle in any premises that need to be addressed.
Very weird stuff. I'm Portuguese and according to census 80% of the population are believers, mostly catholics with Muslim, evangelical, jeovah witnessed and others on small fringes. As a 58 years old atheist never faced any sort of discrimination based on religion. Politicians are as bad as American ones but never bring religious issues into politic, that is a tacit point. So, what's happening in USA? (and deeply apologies for my very bad English)
Love this show. Has helped me out immensely in my life. Logic and reason has helped me overcome my cognitive dissonance. Now I write and study stoicism and other philosophy. Ironically, now that I am pretty much atheist (still struggle with fear indoctrination) I am no longer a drug addict.
My parents were atheist (probably theirs as well) so since there wasn't any church indoctrination for me, then clearly I didn't become Jesus or Allah or any other claimed God mad. No claimed Jesus sins or Christain Hell for me. Regarding claimed Jesus sins, society fully threw out all claimed Jesus sins (all of then) and replaced them with the far superior secular laws method. No Jesus sins accused people in court any longer ;) Regarding claimed Christain Hell (undoubtfully your quoted irrational fears, since no evidence for such an absurd place). I have 3 responses (pick which one may help you). 1. No doubt you are aware of Pascal's Wager. I mean if you choose (so to speak) to believe in Christain Hell, and it turns out the Hindu claimed God was correct (or any other claimed God) then (s)he is going to be mighty pissed off with you (I wouldn't want to be you). I mean I at least witheld belief on all claimed Gods due to there being no evidence to meet the level of belief required. But YOU! You actually believed in Christain Hell (I suspect) and believed ALL other claimed Gods were dead wrong! OH MY. That's not a good idea of you at all, I'm just glad I got to you before its too late, talk about you making the worst gamble of your life! Probably best to withold belief until you at least have a good reason! Obviously. 2. My kids (atheists and now grown), at about 8 years old, were having those childish nightmeres about a Hell (they had heard about it from other kids in school or something). Waking up all frightened (you know how kids place agency on anything, trees, teddies; old houses; noises; monsters in the sky! (Lol to that one). Anyway they had this silly idea a Devil might exist! WELL I informed them straight away: Its your dreams, next time you have a dream like that bring in a 1000 fire engines (trucks whatever you call it) and hose down the entire place AND hose down that horrible monster. You know what? They never had those nightmeres again. 3. Christain Hell you say? (although you didn't say that). Did you know that EVERY believer in a claimed God also believes that their God follows reason? YEP. They ALL believe that the people on the naughty list WON'T be going to the castle in the clouds (they ALL believe this). I'm positive about this, because when some Christains say they don't believe in Christain Hell for your claimed Jesus sins; 'I' say: THAT'S wonderful news, because the instant I ever see this monstrous Jesus of yours I'm going to throw him into an active volcano (its quite common in fairytale stories, so I know that will work). ANYWAY, all of a sudden the Christain then says I DON'T get to go to the castle in the sky! I know, shocking. THIS happens every single time, I mean its like the Christain's mind itself IS the God personality! It seems the CHRISTAIN believes their God would NOT ALLOW me into the castle in the clouds! YES they originally lied. Anyway back to the reasoning God. ANY reasonable reasoning claimed God would NOT condemn someone who didn't believe due to our now modern understanding (best known method) that you require REASON and/or evidence to believe in a specific claimed God. Therefore, of course he wouldn't allow the atheist to go to the naughty place as they used reason just like him (plus single claimed Gods are atheists too, but lets not go there). BUT Christains who merely unreasonable believe out of irrational FEARS? I wouldn't want to be them. Pick which one you like. By the way I have a 4th one, but this post is WAY too long.
@@CyberBeep_kenshi Agreed, that's why I personally never misguide Christains (or those recovering) they've been deceived to enough already. There are several ways that one being can use another being for sustenance, against the will of the one doing the sustaining. One is, as Matt discussed here, parasitism. Another is slavery. If you have a parasite living off of your body, nobody would dispute that you have the right to remove that parasite, even though removal will mean the parasite's death. What about slavery? Is a slave justified in killing the slaveholder, in order to be free? I think the answer is Yes. The reason I use the slavery analogy is because, in that situation, there is no doubt that we are talking about two human beings: the slaveholder, and the one enslaved. I see unwanted pregnancy as forcing a woman to be a slave to a fetus, and as Matt said, it doesn't matter if the fetus is in there writing poetry and curing cancer. Nobody has the right to enslave another person. Bodily autonomy might be the ultimate expression of freedom. If we can't even own our own bodies, can we really own anything?
Exactly, which means the whole "when life begins" thing is a red herring. So is whether it's a person. But we often make the mistake of entertaining these pro-forced-birth premises, when we should first take the time to reject that framing.
The difference is that in the case of the parasite and the slave-owner, both the host and the slave never were given a choice not to sustain an other body. In the case of a pregnancy, it was the womans choice to have sex which means she consented to potentially having a child. So, in order for the analogy to be valid, the host would have to choose to implant the parasite, while the slave would have to choose to become a slave.

@@onesquirrel2713 Matt has said it many times: Consent to sex is NOT consent to pregnancy, and becoming pregnant is NOT consent to remaining pregnant. And have you never heard of rape or incest? Not all sex is done with consent. To address your host-parasite point, some parasites are conveyed in things people eat or drink. Someone could use your "consent" rationale to say, "Well, OneSquirrel knew the risks when he ate that pork, so he consented to potentially getting a parasite." Using a rationale like that is just a furtive way of saying women shouldn't have sex for pleasure.
1:24:00 We have the Behavioral Sciences! Science has replaced both religion, and philosophy. Just saw a thumbnail recommendation for a joke. I did not click on to listen to the joke, because the caption was the funniest thing I’ve ever heard. “Couple can’t get pregnant so they ask a priest for help.” The only sexual experience a priest would have is with people, most of whom are incapable of getting pregnant.

Psychology, and Religion are in complete conflict. Sigmund Freud was the first scientist to explain the phenomenon of FEELING GUILT. (An introduction to Psychoanalysis, 1917). As the religious like to describe it as "God's Laws Written on my Heart". We have decades of scientific knowledge on the subject of Human Behavior. Freud described the survival function of Guilt Feelings!
There are thousands of worthy charities, but I think the most important ones, at the present time, are those working to get the right people elected to office and preventing the wrong ones from being elected to office. Further, it is very difficult to not get political, given the ACA's non-profit status and the fact that one of the major parties has tied themselves to Christian Nationalist ideology. I therefore think that we must address candidates' religious beliefs rather than their party affiliations. Of course, as a citizen, I am free to express my political beliefs, elsewhere--and I frequently do just that.
If you have anger then you don't have the doorway, and therefore irrespective of evidence and or reason, you're just not true. Is the caller really that silly?
So when both the woman and baby dies because she was too sick to carry a pregnancy and the doctors waited too long to intervene, (because they were afraid of losing their license for deeming an abortion medically necessary, too early in the eyes of the state) how many lives did that save?
Hey Mykil, what created the ‘Creator’ ?? There is no way around this conundrum. And theists have absolutely no ground to make special exemptions for this alleged entity.
Mykil: Your argument is purely a matter of semantics; it depends entirely upon how you define "create". "Create" can mean "designed", which is how theists define it, or it can mean "derived from" which is how the rest of us define it. Why use the confusing term, at all?
@Creator And language constantly changes and evolves over time, a dictionary is not prescriptive to how words ought to be used only descriptive how they tend to be used. If the majority of people do not use a word to mean what a dictionary entry has as a words definition, then no matter how many times you cite the dictionary, the used definition is the definition and not what a dictionary has as an entry. Dictionaries are not an authority on language and if 2 people do not agree to a definition, then either something must be reconciled between the 2 disagreeing or move on, because an appeal to authority is just a fallacy.
Not sure why Matt answered Mylik's question of "Name anything that doesn't require a creator ?" with "God". I mean I get saying that to someone making a god claim but Matt missed the boat by not responding with Energy and citing the First Law of Thermodynamics, saying energy cannot be created nor destroyed, since Mylik was suggesting to look things up on google.
Lol mykil is unbelievably ridiculous. Clouds aren't created they form. Quarks aren't created, the come to be. A non god creator is just nothing. And then he started bawling his eyes out😂😂
@Creator So basically some weird word play? You do realize that when some one says "creator" they don't talk about "bring together parts or combine to CREATE something" but about actual being who created something? Otherwise, why not simply say that everything has a cause instead?
@Creator It's irrelevant if its Oxford or Merriam Websters. It's a lazy semantics argument predicated on humans very general usage of the word "created". People use it all the time where no genuine creation ever takes place, no differently from how theory is used to mean guess instead of a thourougly amazed list of experiments, analysis and peer reviewed papers detailing a Fact. There are No genuine events of creation and never has. "Everything is an state of alteration of an previous state". Your voice and the sounds thereof is not a creation out of thin air, it's an alteration of the air current through your throat done by your voice chords. An chair is not a creation but an alteration of the woods physical configuration from one state to another. Etc. Same with the universe. All the evidence points to it simply being an alteration from one state to another and nothing more. There's no evidence for any sort of nor plausibility of a creation/creative force. It's an assumption without basis in the real world and made only out of religious bias and lazy sophistry.
@Creator Its a word play. For example when some one says that he believe in god you straight away imagine some being, but if that person actually means that he believe that this coffee cup exists and that this coffee cup for him is a god, that word "god" looses entire meaning. So why not simply say "Everything has a cause" instead of trying to claim that "everything has a creator"?
I really hope Mykil has some family members keeping tabs on him. He doesn't seem happy. I hope he doesnt do anything to people or have anything happen to him. (mental breakdown) If he's just having a shitty day, sorry. But that anger just seems really unhinged...

A grain of sand is “created” by “natural” forces. Not “intent from brain activity” we don’t call these forces “the sand creator”. What creates forces to create quarks? As far as we know or can safely assume, “more nature”. This creator Mykil is pushing for would be nothing special, Its the same kind of “special” as the forces “creating sand”. This creator would need a creator too by his logic, and back to square one we go. It’s cool to think you can attempt to erase an infinite regress, but our brains will never let the concept go no matter what we “pin” onto the unanswered stuff/ possibly unanswerable stuff.

Once again I'm heartbroken listening to Aidans story. Living in the UK I take free healthcare for granted and then I hear stories like hers where she can't even afford to do the first test because they want $3000 for it and she cant afford it. Then she tell her own mother that she has lost belief in God and she doesn't talk to her for 2 months. How is the most Christian country in the world filled with so many people who are so hypocritical that they don't follow what they believe so strongly, where Christians are supposed to forgive and be kind and gentle, yet her mother blanks her for 2 months even when she is going through all of this. And on top of that she cant get proper healthcare because of no universal healthcare. Seeing as most of the hospitals now seem to be run by religious groups (Christians and catholics) who are only out to make money and force their beliefs onto everyone. If they are run by religion then shouldn't they be giving free healthcare? I don't know, it just riles me the way they are forcing their beliefs onto everyone and denying people help.

Atheism is easy destroyed by the facts:
That entity is known as “God.”
God takes credit for creating time/space/matter/energy in the very first verse of the Bible - where we would expect it:
"In the beginning (time), God created the heavens (space) and the earth (matter/energy)." - Genesis 1:1
You are so worth it! Getting to young minds which are more flexible is where there needs to be more reason, rationality, and critical thinking to undo the damage religion causes, and access to support.
The foundation for Quarks is DS9. ;)

Consent is a modern sensibility. Funny how the objective moral instruction from God is absent that idea.

Good Questions:
1. Why do we not allow a thirteen-year-old child to adopt a baby while we force a thirteen-year-old to give birth to a baby?
2. What does a fertilized egg, embryo, or fetus want? How can anyone know what a fertilized egg wants?
3. Even more - how can a fertilized egg want anything when desires and such are demonstrably a product of a working nervous system?
@@michaelkirk4056 wonderfully said.

Thanks Matt and Dave...while I've been an Atheist for about 40 years I still find these shows interesting and it helps to hear the various arguments for the times I do get into debates with theists.
Atheism is INFAMOUS the world over for having ZERO ANSWERS. You don't have a RATIONAL, step-by-step atheist explanation for reality. That's because there isn't one. Yet you desperately cling to that garbage.
This is just so infuriating. Adults should NOT need to be hand held through this level of critcal thinking and inquire.
"Can intuition be wrong?"
"Yes"
"How can you tell when it's wrong?"
"Shit....I never thought of that!"
I mean...my 5 year old niece literally does better than this.
I was attacking the MASSIVE deficit of self inquire that led to a grown as man being impressed with a rebuttle that boils down to "What if you're wrong."
That he had taken the time to think through this, and felt he had enough to call in....he NEVER considered "Intuition isnt always reliable."
It wasnt that he considered it and had a defense....HE HAD NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT IT.

I would say no. I would have to start in order to stop.

Very weird stuff. I'm Portuguese and according to census 80% of the population are believers, mostly catholics with Muslim, evangelical, jeovah witnessed and others on small fringes.
No Jesus sins accused people in court any longer ;)
Regarding claimed Christain Hell (undoubtfully your quoted irrational fears, since no evidence for such an absurd place).
Glad it helped. It sure is a masterclass in logic and reasoning. And detecting dishonest debaters
@@CyberBeep_kenshi Agreed, that's why I personally never misguide Christains (or those recovering) they've been deceived to enough already.

But if someone wants an honest opinion i am all for it. Explaining science stuff mostly. I am not into bible texts. Just a waste of time really and i can find faults on just about every page. Or just plain horrible things.....
The question i ask of late, which no apologists answered, is why the churches don't invest in scientific research to detect and prove a god. To me it's obvious the leadership knows it's bs, but make a great deal of money. Religion is a business model of a drugs cartel to me. Mykil-(CA) X is impossible, except when X is possible. 🙄
So, in order for the analogy to be valid, the host would have to choose to implant the parasite, while the slave would have to choose to become a slave.
exactly !! i use arguments like this, and people tell me that I'm holding bodily autonomy above everything else, and that's not how morals work. 😢
So do you think humans should be free to start a life, and then for whatever reason snuff it out like a cockroach ?
You tell me if there’s a reason important enough to terminate a human life at any point after conception.

Hey Mykil, what created the ‘Creator’ ??
There is no way around this conundrum.
And theists have absolutely no ground to make special exemptions for this alleged entity.
My favorite flavor of emotion is nacho cheese 🤣
Mykil: Your argument is purely a matter of semantics; it depends entirely upon how you define "create". "Create" can mean "designed", which is how theists define it, or it can mean "derived from" which is how the rest of us define it. Why use the confusing term, at all?
IF a creator did create the universe and everything in it, where’s the evidence?
@Creator And language constantly changes and evolves over time, a dictionary is not prescriptive to how words ought to be used only descriptive how they tend to be used. If the majority of people do not use a word to mean what a dictionary entry has as a words definition, then no matter how many times you cite the dictionary, the used definition is the definition and not what a dictionary has as an entry. Dictionaries are not an authority on language and if 2 people do not agree to a definition, then either something must be reconciled between the 2 disagreeing or move on, because an appeal to authority is just a fallacy.
They need the confusing term because they are just as confused. They think that feeling of confusion is divine.

@Creator more mindless assertions without evidence, they're interactions, so they FORMED. Your wordlplay does nothing
@Creator
So basically some weird word play? You do realize that when some one says "creator" they don't talk about "bring together parts or combine to CREATE something" but about actual being who created something? Otherwise, why not simply say that everything has a cause instead?
@Creator "weird word play? or using the best words in the language we created to describe something." No, pretty sure it's shitty wordplay.
@Creator
It's irrelevant if its Oxford or Merriam Websters.
@Creator
Its a word play.

Mykil getting so passionate and aggressive for what? To defend that things that exist, has a cause. 😆🤣
@Creator Probably because he won't put up with bullshit trolls.
Yeah, foolish people often get upset when they’re trying to prove a claim they can’t prove.😂
“The universe can’t be eternal because of infinite regress, but everything has a creator without there being an infinite regress.“
-Someone, apparently
I heard that exact argument from a street preacher about a month ago...he was full of fallacies and circular logic. The worst was what he called "The Virtuous Circle" (the bible is God's word therefore its true and God is real because the bible says so) he actually asked me why circular logic was bad in my world view.
@@claritey The problem is solved when you realize that time travelers from the future realized the universe needed to be jump started & traveled back to trigger the big bang.
@@cnault3244 Unfortunately their instruction manual contained a typo and instead they triggered the Big Bong.
Ciel-OR Truth is not what makes you comfortable, and that is all you are looking for, so you will likely never find it.
Every believer think their version is correct. That's why even every other Christian is hellbound unless they go to their church. It isn't complicated.
If life begins at conception, then why is it all age-related rights unlocks are counted from *birth*?
If life begins at birth, then why is killing a pregnant woman a double homicide?
@@nhbiker1961 probably because we evolved as a social species, and we recognized protecting our vulnerable future from predators was critical.
This however is just a instinctive heuristic, there are individual cases where the best way to protect the mother is to terminate the pregnancy. That doesn't mean we can do this whimsicly, often the thing that is necessary is most difficult.
Painting a complex topic with one clumsy brush isn't helpful.
@@uninspired3583 Bottom line is, I am against the government making these choices, but that does not change the fact that you are talking a life. If you choose to do so, own it.
@@nhbiker1961 do you mourn the loss of each non viable embryo? There are more non successful conceptions than there are successful ones, should that be classified as an ongoing natural disaster?
Claiming there is accountability without defining your boundaries seems like something close to gaslighting to me. It leaves you open to point your fingers wherever you feel like making someone feel bad.
@@uninspired3583 I'm pro-choice, but that's a terrible argument. People mourn nonviable embryos all the time. If you've been trying to have a baby and you finally get pregnant, only for it to end with a miscarriage, that's a tough pill to swallow.
@thebestplayermanguydood yes, exactly!, many things create. Some from brains with intent, others by what we call natural processes (no brain or intent). He wanted to make it sound like a brain is at work and knows he now had to prove it lol.
@Creator "are the creators of sand. "
You do know that "sand" is simply very tiny rocks, right?
English is not your first language is it? There is a difference between "creator" and "creator" dependent on it's usage.
America has a healthcare Business we have a healthcare system
I was both laughing at Art's arguments but also feeling sympathy because Matt was fast braining so hard during that call.
art was a theist, odd that he wanted to dodge that
