My father is from Baltimore. When I was a kid, we went, with my grandparents, to OC every summer. We would stay in cottages on the bay side that I believe were in the 80th street or higher area. Haven't been back since 86. I remember catching a bushel of crabs with another kid on the bay by a restaurant that threw spent clamshells over the rail into an inlet for the bay that attracted tons of crabs. We didn't know how to split them up at the end of the day, so we let them go. My grandfather was sooooo pissed when I told him what we had done! One day, I'm going to have to go back and see what it looks like now.
You let all those crabs go?! HAHA it must have been fun catching them! Come back and visit, a lot of the buildings are still here but the names have changed. I'm sure a lot of memories will come back once you see everything now. Thanks for watching my video.
Glad to see the updates. I'm planning on being down in OC this year and will use your updates and recommendations for where to eat and what to do. We stayed at the Belle Vista condos back in 2014, beside the Lookout Lounge, and it was great. We had breakfast at the Tap House and dinner at what was the Crab House. I fondly remember the views of the bay and wildlife were fantastic back then, too. At that time Cosechas was a fish and seafood market, I believe. Wow never seen the water there that low!! Sorry to hear about Tony's.
Hi Jay, we came down last Friday and tried to go to new Surf Bagel in Fenwick and it closed 4 mins before we got there :(. BTW, our fave steak sub place in Bethany was open! Surf’s Up subs. The guy said they will be open weekends from here on out. :) A door down, DB Fries was also open. We of course went to Woody’s in Dewey to get our fave crab cake. It was excellent. I will say it might be under seasoned for some, we like it that way and add Old Bay at the table. Thx for the updates 💪🏼.
Someone else told me about Surfs Up Subs and how good it is! I agree with the crab cakes, when we had them they felt a bit underseasoned, but I also prefer a heavier seasoned crab cake...or heavier seasoned tartar sauce if the crab cake lighter seasoned. Hope you guys had a great trip!
@ we did, it was awesome. Can’t tell you how much we like your videos, it feels like we’re in touch with our old summer stomping grounds of OC. Parents had a small place on 94th bay side, wish we still had it. Thx again. Happy New Year to you n your beautiful family.
My understanding is that the Giant will start construction first quarter this year, and the apartments in ‘26. Time will tell. I know I can’t wait. Just glad to have a nicer supermarket. The new Acme should be nice too. No idea on when that project will start. I think they are still in the approval stages. As too the Giant, if it works like it used too, Giant will build its own store with their own construction company, the in line space, and over all development will be by the developers contractor(s). BTW Giant and Food Lion are owned by the same parent company. It will be interesting to see if that has any impact on the existing FLs. Thanks for the vid.
Oh that video is coming? I film a few days to a week prior to the video release date. I think I filmed this the day before the snow storm. Editing takes much longer than filming.
I was at the Lookout lounge a few years back, the view was actually beautiful and their food is nice. The thing about Lookout Lounge is that its expensive I didn't know the "shut down".
yeah, coming to Winchester and Stephens City .. which are located in far Northern / Western VA ..about 100 miles west of DC. They couldn't get Wegmans to move out to this area but appears that Publix's are willing to expand to more rural areas.
I'm wondering what makes such a low tide? Moon and wind? Would have been interesting to see all the fishing rigs that are hung up on rocks along the inlet rocks and Boardwalk fishing area at 2nd and 4th street.
Yeah, Margaritaville is a definite no go. The hotel by the coast guard station is still on, but I don't know when he has plans to build. The name is going to be Kyma.
That’s crazy how low the tide is, kinda cool seeing it as well. I checked out that Jackspot last summer, I thought it was a cool place. Nice view n they have a roof top area n a nice chill spot with propane fires going. Only food I tried were wings, that were good. I’d definitely go back.
Dang it, I’ve been preaching for years Wegmans needs to come to Ocean City, that stinks lol That’s gonna be a big chance not seeing Tony’s Pizza there anymore.
More restaurants and less new luxury hotel high rises lol 😆 😅 I thought it was going to be a Trader Joe's instead of a Giant Foods and a mall now it's apartments lol 😆 I'm so confused
I never heard Trader Joes, but the Giant plans have been in place for over a year now. The apartments are in addition to the Giant, so it will be the both of them.
Bagels and a Jewish deli! Who knew? lol That low tide is CRAZY! Saw another video from someone who walked WAY out into where the water should have been on Assateague. I hope the "Tony" gets saved. Put it next to Laughing Sal in the museum!! Here's an idea for a future video. There are several museums in and nearby OC. Why not do one from the Life Saving Station Museum, the Mermaid Museum, and maybe the Shipwreck Museum when it opens again in the spring. People overlook all of them, and there's a lot to learn and see inside! Great options for a rainy day!
Those are awesome ideas for videos! I've been meaning to go to the Life Saving Museum to work on the Assateague Clements house videos. That will be my excuse to make sure I go there.

Wow that is strange with the low tide 😳 thanks for the updates 👍
Good job Jay B used to live at 94th Street my dad's house back on the bay until he passed Loved it down there Good luck Jay
Just subbed. Lived on E.Shore 1990-99 and Phillips was one of my clients. Of course, I visited OC back in the 70’s. Many good memories.
Thanks for the updates! Wow, that is definitely low tide.
Never seen the bay that low. Pretty cool. Great info video. Keep em coming Jay.
That was crazy seeing the bay that low! Thanks for the update and stay safe
My two favorite things you captured was the low bay and seeing Tony’s statue on the street like that!
Thank you! That low tide was crazy!
TY for the updates. Stay warm and take it easy shoveling snow.
Thanks!
Thank you!!
My OCM fix… thanks for the updates! Love the channel!
Thank you!!! 😊

Hope you have a great trip! Even from 2014 quite a bit has changed, but it still has the same "OC" feel to it.

Hey Jay was just down in oc Maryland this past weekend and went to the indoor golf course that u and the family went to on 68 th street
No way!!! The aquarium mini golf?! We love that course!
Yeah me and my girlfriend played it on last Saturday and it was fun
Thanks for the update.
What happened to the snow, great video tnx Man!

I was at the Lookout lounge a few years back, the view was actually beautiful and their food is nice. The thing about Lookout Lounge is that its expensive I didn't know the "shut down".
Very interesting. The food always looked good, and they advertised as "up scale" so I guess the price point matched?
Publix , the Florida Supermarket chain is moving up north and announced 2 new locations in my area .. so maybe they will move into MD next.
We have them in VA. They are nice stores with great customer service but their prices seem to be a little higher.

Probably a million dollars worth of rigs! I believe the low tide is caused by a gravitational pull.
Ate once at Lookout Lounge. Nice decor and great views. Food was good (not great) but WAY overpriced
Hey I will give you an update. It was announced today. Touch of Italy is taking over the food services at ocean pines.
Yeah we saw that earlier. Curious to see what they put out for a menu.
The hotel still being built by the coast guard station ?
And Jimmy buffet is definitely not coming ?
Yeah, Margaritaville is a definite no go. The hotel by the coast guard station is still on, but I don't know when he has plans to build. The name is going to be Kyma.
Have you mentioned Marty's Playland being remodel over the winter?
No, I didn't even know they were remodeling. Where did you hear about it?
My best friend works for Trimper’s.
i love OC go there every July
Seriously low tide conditions... I would say so.
Darn, Tony's was really good. That is a shame
That’s crazy how low the tide is, kinda cool seeing it as well. I checked out that Jackspot last summer, I thought it was a cool place. Nice view n they have a roof top area n a nice chill spot with propane fires going. Only food I tried were wings, that were good. I’d definitely go back.
It looks like a cool spot! Location is great too, maybe we'll check it out next year.
Dang it, I’ve been preaching for years Wegmans needs to come to Ocean City, that stinks lol
That’s gonna be a big chance not seeing Tony’s Pizza there anymore.
Yeah, I wish they would come to OC! I miss Wegmans.
Now Tony Russo Jr posted that’s not the true ?
This is getting crazy. Just keep it as Tony's!
More restaurants and less new luxury hotel high rises lol 😆 😅 I thought it was going to be a Trader Joe's instead of a Giant Foods and a mall now it's apartments lol 😆 I'm so confused

You have Harris teeters in Delaware.
And Hockers but it's an hour round trip.
After all of that zoning nonsense about the alley they bail? Oh well.
I know, right? Allllll that work and money but nothing happens.
