That Focus needs a driver mod or he was heat soaked or something. Even stock they roll our well but tuned they’re nasty. Good runs though. And it is pretty easy to wheelie a bike-the power makes the front end feel weightless when it comes up you just have to be ready to grab some rear break if it goes back too far so you don’t loop out.
Focus RS are nasty on the launches, not so much on rolls..Type R walks away on a roll, I've raced an RS on a roll with just a cpl mods and was pulling slightly.
@@RevsALot The stock turbo is really small, it’s out of breath pretty early. From a roll a bolt on ST will hang with the RS all day but the RS is a dig monster. Power for power they’ll compare to an Evo with a driver in the seat. Unfortunately it seems Ford gets crippled by bad drivers more than most other brands lol. Mid 11 second Fords run 13s around here ALOt
Nah they're ok. I used to own an 07 TL-S and traded in for a 13 g37 sedan. For stock vs stock the g37 is faster then the TL-S. I race my friends TL-S with intake and catback and still beat him by just having a axle back exhaust

@@busalove2013 has nothing to do with it from a roll... those 370s are just bone stock and the g37 is FBO/tune... a FBO tuned 370 would be a whole different game these guys are probably in the 270 wheel range... 320+ wheel would make a big difference

There was a 370z bolt ons tuned aswell were the bike pop a weely TLs is a single cam motor, imagen TLs was twin cam like the VQ motor 🤔 it would be hard to.keep.up.with, not down grading the VQ, but lets be realistic, in a 1/4 TL is not very good on the 60foot, but in the roll racing, dont sleep on it, They produce more torq. then a rwd VQ, soon i will be getting some cams for it, i be running some of the fastes N/A VQ stock blocks out there in FL, stay tune, for more content, its gonna be realy fun. (best 2 V6 motor out there VQs/JESRIEs)

6spd Type S's have been pricey-ish for a Honda for a min now I own a 3.2L TL and have been wanting to upgrade to either a 6spd TL-S or an Accord V6 6spd and people that own TL-S's act like they have a holy grail of a car and dont drop them under 13-15k for 100k mile cars
@@juust_j0 Just a heads up do some research before you buy one. From personal experience a shit TL can be a HUGE money pit. Most parts are Honda which keeps prices low but the beefy/important parts are Acura parts so they get the luxury car tax and are more expensive. Also if its an auto avoid 04-06 they had major trans issues and little gremlins that will no doubt give you headaches. Look for an 07-08 or if its a manual 04-06 are fine but again little differences. Also 04-06 and 07-08 share some parts but not all so to be on the safer side stay within those years for parts. Other than that when the car is running great youll love it, its not supercar fast, not even muscle car fast but its a fun car.
Yeah. The 6 speed TL Type S are pricey which is why I lost interest. Around here, you can get one with 110k to 130k miles for about 13k - 15k which is out of the question.
One popped up in my area with 50k miles for $11k, but it only lasted a cpl days haha. That would be worth it, but these ones with high mileage and beat to f*** for $10k-15k is crazy.

I want to say tuning ...head work... and tuning . I used to work real hard for Palm springs Nissan for 4 years... I have lots of loyalty and respect personally for some of the dare I say DATSUN/NISSAN engineering bits that were put on the cars in specific trim. I'm only a Honda guy because by Aryton senna won my heart when he was racing for Honda McLaren and the late eighties early nineties rest in peace. ONCE I GET MY SHOP, WE ARE GOING TO FABRICATE A MID-ENGINE J32A3 WITH COMPLETELY REWORKED INTERNAL GEOMETRIES .
Hands down one of my three favorite 3G TLs I 😍 @Gerzybear, @turbotls and @chony1703. There others I like but these guys are setting the trend for 3G TL imo 💪🏾

The c series has some serious potential as well it is just sad it had a short life and not many people actually modify them, I am one of the fue people that do experiment with them and just with some simple mods you can squeeze out a respectable 750 hp with simple mods like intake, ecu, exoust, and camshaft with stiffer springs, and it also can rev up to 8000 rpm with usable power all the way to 8000 is also dos not have vtec but the J series does I have some respect for that motor it also has some great potential making 500 to 600 hp NA with that boost of vtec pumping it up to 560 to 660 hp just wow all it needs is a Camshaft, a tune,upgraded roller rockers, intake, exoust, stiffer valve springs, and a very good port mach job
@@RevsALot I own a C35A myself in my Acura RL, I don’t doubt what this man said above is true. We have forged bottom ends from the factory to work with, and there’s a few legends running around between 400-900whp with a hybrid of the C32B/C35A. Our max torque comes in at 2500rpms, my only complaint is it seems to struggle to breathe at higher speeds likely due to lack of vtec (but that would also kill my low end torque)
You would need boost to make that much power, not just simple mods. Another he said he had 1900HP twin turbo RL🤔. I think that would be world-famous if it were true. So, if one comment is complete bs, hard to believe the others. Links or proof and I'll stand corrected.
Everyone and their mom drives a G37s, the TLS I have to say feels more exotic and looks better. Roll race with stock TLS manual vs G37S AT 5sp with intake and exhaust was neck and neck till the end G pulled slightly. Very close race between the two but 3.7 vs 3.5 makes a difference. For example the j37 makes close to 40 hp more it seems with the same mods as j35. So in theory the vQ should always win. Glad the TL still scraps
I'm not the owner, his link is in description. A boosted TL can put around the same numbers though. Not sure if you're into J's at all, but @gerzybear makes supercharger kits for the 3rd Gen TL & 4th Gen from 400-550whp on 6-8psi.
Interesting that I ran into this video. Three years ago I got my 2013 Buick Verano Turbo tuned with E49 and I added a downpipe and K&N air filter. Ran 13.1@111mph at RT 66 Raceway and was stunned. Has tons more in it but I just wanted a fast, reliable daily driver. Your TLS looks good.
I'm not the owner, but hope to get a Type S for the channel someday. I have a 4G 6MT with exhaust and basemap. Ran 13.1 with dragy meter @106.66 so far. Sleepers are awesome👌! The owner's link is in description.
I doubt that was a de. The top end was too serious also the hood is a good indicator. But hoods can be changed. I'm sure that was an hr to keep up with them
this is interesting, stock for stock i never lost to a TLS in my 2013 g37 sedan and now im buying a 2007 TL Type s in hopes of 6mt swapping and putting in a 3.7
Depends if it's a roll, driver, weight, and manual or AT. I'd say on a roll they should be pretty close, but this is nowhere near a stock Type S. He was making 305whp at the time now he's built J37 making 370+whp.

I can’t decide I always wanted a 350z but the rsx type s is Soo Much easier to work on and go boost if I wanted to go that route but the 350z been my dream since I was in middle school it’s hard
Well if the 350z has the DE, I'd say the RSX Type S would be better. If it has the HR I'd say 350z, rwd, high revving V6 that sounds way better is the way to go imo.

Even either all those mods on your TL on e85... a stock VQ is still keeping up. Both naturally aspirated jdm v6 engines however do the same mod for mod on your TL and those VQ’s and the VQ’s will always win
The j37a4 with dual vtec would be able to get an extra 20-30whp imo over the j35, but you'd have to swap it from the 4G TL. Also, there's the Accord which can do some damage th-cam.com/video/WVPSYzwQQbs/w-d-xo.html

The c series has some serious potential as well it is just sad it had a short life and not many people actually modify them, I am one of the fue people that do experiment with them and just with some simple mods you can squeeze out a respectable 750 hp with simple mods like intake, ecu, exoust, and camshaft with stiffer springs, and it also can rev up to 8000 rpm with usable power all the way to 8000 is also dos not have vtec but the J series does I have some respect for that motor it also has some great potential making 500 to 600 hp NA with that boost of vtec pumping it up to 560 to 660 hp just wow all it needs is a Camshaft, a tune,upgraded roller rockers, intake, exoust, stiffer valve springs, and a very good port mach job

@@RevsALot I own a C35A myself in my Acura RL, I don’t doubt what this man said above is true. We have forged bottom ends from the factory to work with, and there’s a few legends running around between 400-900whp with a hybrid of the C32B/C35A. Our max torque comes in at 2500rpms, my only complaint is it seems to struggle to breathe at higher speeds likely due to lack of vtec (but that would also kill my low end torque)
You would need boost to make that much power, not just simple mods. Another he said he had 1900HP twin turbo RL🤔. I think that would be world-famous if it were true. So, if one comment is complete bs, hard to believe the others. Links or proof and I'll stand corrected.
Everyone and their mom drives a G37s, the TLS I have to say feels more exotic and looks better. Roll race with stock TLS manual vs G37S AT 5sp with intake and exhaust was neck and neck till the end G pulled slightly. Very close race between the two but 3.7 vs 3.5 makes a difference. For example the j37 makes close to 40 hp more it seems with the same mods as j35. So in theory the vQ should always win. Glad the TL still scraps

Interesting that I ran into this video. Three years ago I got my 2013 Buick Verano Turbo tuned with E49 and I added a downpipe and K&N air filter. Ran 13.1@111mph at RT 66 Raceway and was stunned. Has tons more in it but I just wanted a fast, reliable daily driver. Your TLS looks good.

Depends if it's a roll, driver, weight, and manual or AT. I'd say on a roll they should be pretty close, but this is nowhere near a stock Type S. He was making 305whp at the time now he's built J37 making 370+whp.

Well if the 350z has the DE, I'd say the RSX Type S would be better. If it has the HR I'd say 350z, rwd, high revving V6 that sounds way better is the way to go imo.

Even either all those mods on your TL on e85... a stock VQ is still keeping up. Both naturally aspirated jdm v6 engines however do the same mod for mod on your TL and those VQ’s and the VQ’s will always win
