coming to this channel as a first generation asian american, it's terrifying as a 23 year old learning how to drive for the first time since nobody in your family can teach you in english. These videos have been really helpful and calms my anxiety with how the drivers book makes me terrified with the overload of info and confusing knowledge of passing in different scenarios. Thanks!
Absolutely, driving as a first-gen Asian American can be quite the adventure! Kudos for tackling it head-on at 23, even without family English-speaking guides. 🚗 No need to stress over that overwhelming driver's book. Just keep watching, soak up the tips, and soon you'll own those roads. Happy driving and keep the pedal to the metal! 🚙💨
makes more sense i did my first road test prep lesson today and I learned how to do this for the first time and it was confusing at first I just have to practice because I have my road test in 2 weeks! Thank you for that
Thank you! This is sooooo much simpler than what my driving instructor wants me to do. He wants me to do a 2 second SLOW maneuver to quickly turn my wheels, then reverse 2 second until I feel the curb in my wheels, then go neutral to let the weel slide to neutral position in the curb, then engage my parking breake. CRAZY! It just stresses me out so much!. I have done this parking (up or down or even parallel) with my friend's car and it was quick and easy and safe. IDK why my driving instructor stresses me out so much with all the unnecessary steps.
Yeah, I like her videos a lot, too, she smiles (this is nice) and gives information that is helpful, in a voice that is not monotonous, but enthusiastic
LOL, where was this video before? So, picture this, I was trying to park on a steep hill, and as I attempted to parallel park, I noticed a car behind me getting a little too close for comfort. It was like a high-stakes game of chess, but with cars. With my heart pounding, I carefully maneuvered into the spot. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, I heard a honk from behind. I quickly glanced in the rearview mirror to see my car rolling backward, inching dangerously close to the car behind me. Panic mode engaged! Thankfully, I managed to slam the brakes just in the nick of time, avoiding a potential bumper-to-bumper disaster. Lesson learned: Uphill parking can be an adventure in itself!
Thank you so much for this video, It used to be, back in the 70s, that if you did not park with your wheel straight, the car would not start. Is that not true anymore?? If I park down, or uphill with my wheels turned, will my car start??? Thank you for these basic videos, Jacqueline...btw MY BRAKES DID FAIL 2 WEEKS AGO and I hit two cars. It totally destroyed my driving confidence, so watching your videos is helping me get over it. Happy driving!
So glad you're finding these videos helpful. 😊Back in the 70s, wonky parking could mess with starting, but not anymore - feel free to park any which way! 🅿️ Sorry about the brake fiasco, but hey, we all stumble. Your driving confidence will soar again. Enjoy the road to confident driving! 🌟🚙
I love your vids! I am the first in my family w/ a driver's license and your videos are very helpful! Can you also please do a video on how to parallel park on both uphill and downhill? Thanks.
Thank you for your video. I have a question in the DMV test the instructions for parking your vehicle facing downhill it says turn your wheels toward the road that sounds like towards the road would be turning your wheels away from where the curve would’ve been. Is that correct? It seems like it would say turn the wheels to the right away from the road When you’re parking downhill and there’s no curb, so would you please clarify that for me is toward the road parking downhill meaning your tires are facing the center of the road and not the curb it sounds confusing thank you
Amazing video thanks alot please make an video when the emergency vehicle behind you what should to do when I am in going to take left turn and ambulance behind me.
Wait a second!! Im a Former schoolbus driver, instructor in small vehicles. Is it only for large vehicles that i was taught to think about where your tail end will go should all brakes fail. Therefor uphill is turn wheel to the right/ and also downhill to the rt as then it wont go into traffic?😮 (also in Az. ) I know where u are!! By tilden park , oakland n Albany 🎉 I get to help a young one practice altho im not driving professional anymore.
wouldnt the car roll into the curb the same distance no matter what as i just tested it outside so doesnt seem to matter regardless of wheel direction as long as its turned left or right ?
If there is no curb going uphill you will point your wheel to right so if it does start rolling then it will roll off the road and avoid possible collisions with other cars and for downhill you will do the same as you would with a curb so you can still roll of the road
I understand your concern. Signaling during a 3-point turn is crucial. We have a video on our channel that explains how to perform a 3-point turn correctly. It might help alleviate your worries. Drive safely!
You call yourself a instructor when parking in an uphill position it only makes sense to turn wheels towards curb. What happens if there is no curb or the wheel goes over curb then the vehicle would swing into middle of road am I right
Your explanation is very complicated, you have to on the target point, like uphill parking , you have to turn all the way your stirring to the left or right, put brake on reverse!

After turning the wheel to the left, is it neutral or parking. Some examiners will take you to actual hill like you have done in this video plz reply

Thank you for the nice lessons. Wish everyone could have a driving instructor like you guys. ❤
Thank you very much for simplifying “how to..”. I’ve learned A LOT more from you than my private driving lessons quite frankly 😓
Yessss this is so real. Like my driving lesson teacher barely teaches me, he’s always on his phone. And it’s annoying like I want to learn.
Ill just pass my drive test yesterday ... Thank you very much

Thank you for your teaching me.
Thank you! It was a great lesson for me.
do we have to put on signals or emergency signal ⁉️⁉️⁉️
You explained this better ❤❤
I love your vids! I am the first in my family w/ a driver's license and your videos are very helpful! Can you also please do a video on how to parallel park on both uphill and downhill? Thanks.
Your way of exploring the video was nice. Thanks
Very understandable on the need. Situation
What about if there’s no curve? I’ve heard it diffrent
I love so much jackey you give me hope to learn driving

@Zutobi_US
Thank you for sharing.
Any hint for roads without curbs?
Also should mention that uphill with curb is different than uphill without curb.
Amazing video thanks alot please make an video when the emergency vehicle behind you what should to do when I am in going to take left turn and ambulance behind me.

Great video

in both cases, the front tyres should point towards towards the curb (inward) to prevent car from accidently going to the main road.
she forgot to mention how to park uphill w/o curb. it's different from parking w/ curb
You are the best ❤
Thank you 🙏 ❤
Can you add a video of uphill and downhill parking without a curb?
Very informative video. Well explained.
Isnt it better to lock the wheel all the way before u put car in p with ur handbrake because its dry steering
What if there is no curb?
If there is no curb going uphill you will point your wheel to right so if it does start rolling then it will roll off the road and avoid possible collisions with other cars and for downhill you will do the same as you would with a curb so you can still roll of the road
Hope that helped😊
Tnku so much u r awesome
What if there is no curb when you park uphill? Wheels should be turn left or right?
Point the wheels to the curb.
Turn the wheels toward the curb unless in uphill with a curb (only case tires are required to point to the road).
What about parking uphill and downhill without curb? I've heard there is a no curb parking uphill or downhill somewhere in the motorists book.
Turn the wheels toward the curb unless in uphill with a curb (only case tires are required to point to the road).
But wouldn't it bump the curb either way, just the back wheels instead of the front?
Does it need to touch the curb?
Turning wheel to the left is for only uphill with curb. All the rest is wheel turn right.
thank you
I'm worried about signaling when I do a 3 point turn
I understand your concern. Signaling during a 3-point turn is crucial. We have a video on our channel that explains how to perform a 3-point turn correctly. It might help alleviate your worries. Drive safely!
What if there is NO curb
Uphill or downhill without a curb always right
the wheels should touch the curb.. isnt it?
Super helpful thank you
She didn’t do shoulder check to the right 😮
