Just bought a 2020 XT Limited. Love this car. Traded in a 2014 Outback Premium. Night n Day cars. The 11.6 display rocks, lots of power. Thank you Subaru for an awesome car!!
The Onyx XT's sound system was truly awful when I played my USB MP3 collection through it. So we upgraded to the Rockford Fosgate and it now sounds quite spectacular. We could have also gotten one through an upscale stereo store, but went with the Subaru version and am not disappointed at all.
I bought a 2003 Benzo C230 93K mi. Kompressor from an estate sale for 3600. -- immaculate in & out, I just throw my Beats pill on the dashboard, turn on Tidal and haul ass up between L.A. & S.D.
Great review !!! Thank god for the turbo engine 👏🏾👏🏾 I have a 2012 outback 2.5 it gets the job done. But I feel you should never have to wish for more power in any car or suv
I was going to buy a Volvo but for the price and what you get. I think I’m going to go with the Subaru. One thing I wish they’d redesign the Subaru is the emblem.
Thanks for the great review! I missed your new car reviews :). Was the built in navigation the only slow part of the infotainment ? Seemed to be struggling when you pinched to zoom.
Yes, it's noticeable. I have 2020 Onyx, and the auto start can be abrupt, but you get used to it. You can turn it off, but you will need to do it each time you start the car.
If you live in a congested urban area like I do a mt is simply not an option. And I learned to drive a stick in the mountains with a can of Coors between my legs.
That same front is being used on the front of everything from Isuzu utes to Bernina sewing machines and breville sandwich grills . The factory with the moulding for it must be making billions
they look really good but that new tablet dash sucks! Watch it lag when he pinches and clicks on buttons. Why can't we get that as an upgrade option and not a standard feature.... #bringbacktheBaja
Turbo on this little 4 banger is going to take awhile. But, from a dead stop, put it into M, hold down the brake, drop the hammer, and as soon as you launch slap the paddle into 2nd, 3rd, and keep going. Funner than it should be.
I have just purchased the new 2020 Outback and traded in my 2016. When handing over the keys to 16, I asked if they have the little card to put on my key fob, to Remind me how to do the auto start, which was suppose to be on my Touring edition. They replied that the new 2020, that I have to buy the damn Starlink package for my Auto Start and to open my doors, that after that free subscription runs out, it won’t work! That sucks! I almost grabbed my check and left! After a week of trying to set everything up, on new car, I keep setting my seat and driver 1 settings and every time, I turn off car, my settings revert back to factory setting and I have to press driver 1 button again, this sucks as I am only driver and never had this problem with my last 3 Subaru’s! I almost went elsewhere this year because of Subaru’s boring colors on Outback’s and wanting a copper orange color, that is available on so many other brands and now with them charging to keep my auto start and this seat problem and lack of front storage on console(which is really lacking from the 16), I will find another brand in a couple years. So anybody buying the new 2020 be-aware that the only way to get remote start is by buying the damn Starlink package and will have to keep rebuying it!
I don’t think this is accurate. You can buy the remote for the remote start and if you additionally want more features then the startlink service will cost you 75 bucks for 3 years which also comes with a bunch of nice features worth the 75 bucks in my opinion.
@@Dito.Gancini I have an Onyx XT 2020 . the subscription price goes up considersably after the 3 yrs expire. If your car wasn't ordered with remote start you can have it added (forgo the StarLink subscrition) but it necessitates a second keyfob. I was fooled by that on the door sticker too.
essel23fly I think Subaru has this weird, funky, old school basic design that sort of makes them unique and desirable in an era where even Toyota is going for more exciting designs. Crazy that they now outsell Hyundai in the United States they used to be so small.
The best outback review so far!! That Onyx edition looks pretty mean. Thank you!

I picked up 2021 Touring XT with the Napa brown leather last year and it’s met all expectations. Great car.

Finally! A post about the RF Speakers! Did you add a Subwoofer at all?
I did the same, not as good as my old STi's harmon larson, but much better than stock yea

Looks pretty good not gonna lie
The only Subaru I would buy if I had the cash.
Yea I have a 2020 XT Onyx. It's weird... Right under the first of the hood is an air duct that routes up the underside of the hood to the intercooler.
I do miss the XT scoop. I had a Forester XT that was amazing
Your reviews are solid man. Way better than redline. He sounds like he’s reading from a script.
Appreciate it!
Baghhhh, reading the brochure from front to back.

Haha true everything else seemed pretty on point! 👌
Enjoyable so much, I’m considering. $40K sucks, so will have to consider much longer.
Im so excited to get it. I decided on the white. The white with the all black everything else is too clean
Now we just need a crosstrek XT..
Your y'all at the end was too good. Georgia or Florida?
Is it less reliable because it is a turbocharged engine? Are there any gotchas with maintenance here like more frequent intervals or something?
Good review! But I hate all the ads that TH-cam puts on everybody's videos. There was 3 ads on your video alone.
That's how he gets paid. So either watch the ads, or pay TH-cam a monthly fee of which a portion which will go to him. He has to get paid somehow.
...or download an adblocker. Poof! No more ads.
how heavy comparing to Legacy XT? i’m can’t decide. My 2007 OB still running tho.hmmm
Psa- black on black is a nightmare in any climate with sun. Aka all
Can i watch TH-cam in this " tablet"?
was the auto start stop very noticeable? Great videos
Yes, it's noticeable. I have 2020 Onyx, and the auto start can be abrupt, but you get used to it. You can turn it off, but you will need to do it each time you start the car.
My next car gotta wait till 2021 tho in Aus.
Will the 2021 onyx xt have wireless Apple car play?
Can we please just drop in a 500hp engine in this from the factory? Thanks...
Hey, do you know if the XT model comes in a non-power moon roof version? I’m not a fan sun roof or moon roof. I have no use for them.
Yeah the base onyx xt does not have a moonroof or reverse automatic braking
missing a 3rd pedal :(
And a 3.6 :(

Realy needd
I want the onyx edition but 40k is overpriced to me.
By me they are 34k the turning xt is 40+
I love it
Now if it just had some twin turbos! 😁
How tf are they gonna give it a top mount but no hood scoop.
Agreed 👍
There is an air channel duct going under the hood from the grill to the intercooler. Concealed. But yea I wish it had an external slot.
Do the Onyx comes with a transmission cooler.

Does anyone know when does the turbo kick in? At what rpm?

I have the 2020 Onyx XT, it's pretty noticable when you stomp on it.
I can’t wait for the 2020 Dodge Chargers to come out
Agreed, if they don’t screw up the styling it’s going to be a bargain I’m assuming with a rwd v8 with all of fca’s new tech
can i have?
Standard stereo sounds good? Review credibility GONE. LOL It's abysmal.

My wife’s 2021 Touring she downloaded an app on her phone and remote starts from that, no charge.
