I feel like Lauren really nailed her performance as Sailor Neptune. Barbara is good too, but the acting range was limited partly from the age range the dub was targeted for in 2000.
I also feel like Lauren's pronunciation of the Japanese names is more proper than the other girls, which is a very subtle but very good acting choice. No one else in the dub pronounces the Japanese names quite like Neptune, and it gives off a much more cultured vibe. I love that choice.
Sailor Neptune is truly the queen of the ocean no matter who voices her.
I actually really liked Barbara. Her acting was pretty good. Lauren is freaking amazing!

Barbara is perfect for Sailor Neptune. I guess I'm just so use to her voicing Sailor Neptune growing up watching the clover way version of sailor moon that her voice grew on me . And Barbara also voiced usagi's mother too .

Masako IS Sailor Neptune - she sounded so beautiful and soothing. Sayaka isn't too bad but she lacks the elegance Masako had. Both English VAs got her character right but I think Lauren's voice is more fitting. I wouldn't have minded Barbara's voice if it had a more youthful calibre but unfortunately she sounded a bit too old and throaty for my liking.
All these voices are brilliant. I still love Barbara's voice quite a bit, though the bad directing didn't do her acting any justice. Lauren is fantastic as always, i love that regal feel she gave Neptune.
It's very hard top pick a favorite. I think they all portrayed her wonderfully but I think that Masako is the best. She brings out Michiru sophistication AND her playfulness. We must not forget how Michiru can be a COMPLETE TROLL 😂🤣😂😂
I love Laurie. She's a sweetheart, and her voice is so soothing, soft, and adorable. What's amazing about her is that she was born on June 9th, 1988. Just 13 days before Who Framed Roger Rabbit opened in theaters. So i know the real victim who framed Roger. :D

But I don't know I always thought that Michelle/Michiru was a very elegant, sophisticated lady and she just seemed to be older than she really was. I thought Barbara brought that to the character better than Lauren in my opinion.

Michelle and Amara are supposed to be more mature and less childish than the main scouts, hence why they both have an aged sound in their dub voices

If there's an anime censorship edit that angers me the most, It would have to be Sailor Uranus & Sailor Neptune in the english dub of Sailor Moon being cousins instead of lovers.
The fact that they couldn't make them just friends is beyond me.
Whoever rushed the Cloverway dub of Sailor Moon deserves to be sorry! It's their fault Sailor Moon's Cloverway dub did poorly when it reached U.S.A.

It was the 90's/early 00's...LGBTQ+ content on TV, especially for a kid's show, was a huge no-no. Making them family was the best way that they could explain their closeness.
LGBTQ+ content censorship just pisses me off! They made Zoisite and Fish-Eye as tomboys just because they were girly men plus Uranus and Neptune as cousins just because they were a same-sex couple. How goddamn dense can the 90's/early 00's with censorship playing god with anime and video game content? Good lord! Pardon my language, but seeing anime and video games played god with only happened because they couldn't tell what's okay and not okay for children back in the day. I don't know who to blame for the LGBTQ+ content censorship, but whoever is responsible for playing god with gays in cartoons will answer for their sins against Sailor Moon fans and cartoon watchers in America!

Barbara was actually pretty good, even if I couldn't help but hear Usagi/Serena's mom whenever she spoke; really, her main weakness was that horrid script.
Lauren was really good, too, though. She still sounds elegant and poised, but she sounds closer to Michiru's age. And she pulls off Michiru's subtle snootiness that can pop up at times.
Lauren hit it, dead on!!! But I really feel that way about all the voice actors and actresses in the Viz dub... Barbara was a good choice, too... took a bit initially to undo her voice as Ikuko, and tbh, I'm really curious how well she would've done had she been younger and had the proper script/context
Lauren Landa is my favorite voice actress for sailor Neptune she did a fantastic job. I love how eloquent her voice is.💜
Masako shows subtle and appropriate feelings in different scenes, her interpretation is most detailed and most "colorful". E.g., compare the driving licence scene when she repeated Makoto's question "ii n desu ka" (how is that right (talkibg about your license) to Haruka, I think only Masako can show the subtlety - friendly and helpful to new acquaintance + "innocent" when ask + mocking + playful + elegant. Also, Masako's voice has some "signature". I mean, it is not just a beautiful elegant girl voice like other "beautiful elegant girl" voices (there are many in the Jap dubbing world), but there is something that can enable you to differentiate it from other "elegant beautiful girl "voices. Sayaka's voice is nice, I mean, if you close the eyes, you can guess she is probably dubbing for a beautiful girl, but for me there is less "signature" in it.
Barbara's voice was a bit too low for me.
Lauren feels a bit unnatural or "trying to use that (raised) voice on purpose".

Masako Katsuki- She's a great fit for Michiru-san, really elegant and relaxing, she reminds me of Mami a bit, overall, I love her voice.
Sayaka Ohara- Her voice sounds a bit like Masako-san, her voice fits well for Michiru-san, overall, she's not the best, but she does great.
Barbara Radecki- Her voice fairly sounds like Michiru-san, it's the directing that's to blame, so overall, she could've done better.
Lauren Landa- She is a perfectly fitting role for Michiru-san, I love her voice!

Just watched an interview with Barbara and she’s so freaking cool. If she had better direction she could’ve pulled this off better IMO.
Laura's voice is more age appropriate, but Barbara's portrayal fits her personality so well
I really liked all the voices for michiru/Michelle,but my favorite voice actress for her is barbara radecki from the dic dub version. she did a great job as Michelle since she also did the voice for serena/usagi's mom. Lauren does a great job too as michiru in the viz dub.
I feel like Barbara would’ve given a great performance if she was given the time she needed as she was previously in the DIC dub as Usagi’s mom and Queen Serenity, which at the very least were decent performances. I feel the Cloverway dub was held back by not only the localization of it’s day which censored a ton of key elements in the series, but also what appears to be a rushed production. It seems they always used the initial take by the actors and everyone just sounded rushed yet tired at the same time. The only actor I can think of who didn’t suffer from this problem was Chibiusa’s actor

Not sure how I feel about Lauren Landa or Sayaka Ohara yet, (I don't hate Barbara Radecki, I think out of all the Cloverway v.a.s she's probably one of the better ones, but to me all the dialogue seems stunted and weird) I feel like Masako Katsuki just got Michiru perfect
I will go with the Viz Media re-dubbed voice of Sailor Neptune's character on this one. But, I think Ms. Radecki is a bit too mature to be voicing a young lesbian like Michiru Kaioh on this one.

Romulus and Michiru/Michelle in "Overboard" (1987) plot:
Violinist Michiru Kaioh is accustomed to an elegant life with her own yacht and fortune, along with her lesbian lover Haruka Tenoh. While waiting for her yacht to be repaired in the fictional seaside town of Ogunquit, Maine, Michiru hires local carpenter Romulus Proffitt, a widower with four sons and two daughters and a big fan of the 1980's, to remodel her violin cabinet. Romulus produces quality work, which she dismisses because he used oak instead of teakwood, despite her not having requested this at the start.
Romulus agrees to redo the closet if he is paid for the work he has already done, to no avail. The two have an argument, during which he berates her by swearing for her entitled attitude. This causes an furious Michiru throwing Romulus and his tool kit into the water. That night, as the yacht sails away, Michiru goes on deck to retrieve her pink rose, but loses her balance and falls overboard. She is later fished out of the water by a garbage scow. Now suffering from amnesia, Michiru is taken to the local hospital. Haruka learns of this and heads to pick Michiru up, but after observing her while she’s held in the psych ward, he decides otherwise. Intending to have her fortune to himself, Haruka returns to the yacht and has parties with younger women, lying that Michiru has decided to leave her, and celebrating because of it.
After seeing her story on the news, Romulus seeks revenge by encouraging Michiru to work off her unpaid bill. He goes to the hospital and tells her that she is his wife Michelle and the mother of his four unruly sons and two unholy daughters. And he manages to pull off his claim by providing intimate knowledge about her blueberry-Neptune-zodiac-sign-like birthmark (located on her left “breast”), which she herself has forgotten about and hasn’t yet noticed. She reluctantly goes home with him and is appalled by the family’s ramshackle residence.
Michiru initially has difficulty dealing with Romulus' sons and daughters and the heavy load of chores, but she soon adapts. She even manages to display ingenuity a few times, like using the hair dryer to defrost the refrigerator, and using the vacuum to clean the table. As she masters her responsibilities, she learns about the boys and girls' school and family issues, and that Romulus is secretly working two jobs to make ends meet. She falls in love with him and starts to care about his sons. She streamlines the money problems with more efficient budgeting and convinces Romulus to be a more responsible father.
Michiru makes Romulus’ dream come true by helping him design a miniature golf course based on various international attractions, such as Mt. Rushmore, The Twin Towers of The World Trade Center, the Pyramids and Sphinx of Egypt, the Grand Canyon, Empire State Building, Mt. St. Helens, the Russian Cathedral, and the Statue of Liberty (the “Leaning Tower of Pizza” being the concession stand). He also falls in love with her, but does not tell her about her real identity, fearing that she will leave. Four months later, Michiru's friend Setsuna learns what happened and threatens to have Haruka hunted down. She is reluctantly forced to end the partying and return to Ogunquit to retrieve Michiru, whose memory is restored upon seeing him. Realizing that she was manipulated, a distraught Michiru returns with Haruka to her yacht, which heads for San Francisco.
Michiru finds her old lifestyle boring and unfulfilling (something which Romulus had pointed out to her during their initial argument, but she didn’t want to admit) and is uncomfortable with how rudely Haruka and Setsuna treat the boat staff. She apologizes to her chef Tetsurou and the crew for her spiteful treatment towards them, and soon realizes how happy she was with Romulus and his sons and daughters, prompting her to turn the yacht back towards Ogunquit.
The next morning, Haruka finds out that Michiru has changed course and becomes insane with jealousy over the fact that she actually prefers Romulus over him. While taking charge of the boat, out of spite and wounded pride, she admits to purposely abandoning Michiru and having numerous affairs with other women in her absence.
Romulus, the boys, and the girls arrive on a USS North Carolina battleship to rescue Michiru, but are called away due to a sighting of salmon poachers. She is stunned the boat is turning around, thinking Romulus changed his mind. Desperately, he runs to the back of the boat and calls out to Michiru. He then jumps into the water to swim to her, and she does the same. An enraged Haruka insanely takes aim at Michiru with a bow and arrow, only to be booted overboard by Setsuna, who informs him he’s leaving his employment and going to work for Michiru insinstead.
Romulus initially believes Michiru gave up her seawatered-elegant life for him, but she tells him the money and the boat are hers. The two are then brought on board the USS North Carolina boat, and they stand above his four sons and two daughters who are making out their Christmas lists. Romulus asks Michiru what he could possibly give her that she doesn't already have. She answers, "A third little girl", and they kiss while the boat sails off into the rising moonlight.

Idk why but I liked that the outer senshis sounded older especially Pluto to me I always thought she was in her late 20’s when I was younger and I never really saw the inner se Shi’a as middle school girls to be honest.
