- In this video, Josh goes over how to do a lower-inner hose replacement on an early model in the NV 500 series for Shark Vacuum Cleaners. Josh also addresses some common questions we got on our last video, "Why Can't You Repair Your Shark Vacuum."

Thank you so much! Ordering the replacement items now from you to fix mine.
We're glad to hear that! Here's to a repaired vacuum! 🥂
Thanks for this! Replacing the hose now. Had no clue I needed adhesive.
Glad we could help!
Great video, thanks for the help.
Glad we could help!
great video im about to replace my lower hose and while i was at it figured replace brush roll and belt to thank you for info 👍
Glad we could help!
Thanks Sharks are quite complex. I didn’t knew about the adhesive so great advice about that. 🎉
Glad we could help!
Shark is a cheap piece of junk. Thanks for the video. If my Panasonic or Hoover should become not repairable, I won't buy a shark. Not being able to get common parts like belts, brush rollers and fans is a deal breaker for me.
Thank you very much
For what it's worth, Chat GPT suggested 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Neoprene High Performance Rubber & Gasket Adhesive 1300 as the top alternative for Pliobond and Barge All-Purpose Cement as another. Personally, I'm going to try to use some Shoe-Goo because i already have a tube of it laying around and it's properties (flexibility, air-tightness, etc) seem to match the description of the products recommended for the job. Wish me luck, I'll try to report back my findings.
This is the only part of my vacuum I haven't replaced or serviced. The damn thing is almost 10 years old!!
Yas ty so much
Glad we could help!
He did not screw in the other side of the hose. The hose would fit without shortening if it was installed properly.
How do you detach the bottom from the rest of the vacuum??
My hose split up by the handle on the underside so I didn't notice until it was spreading dust everywhere. Now I have to get carpets cleaned. No more sharks for me.
a lot easier than when I did my dyson. Harder to get at, and the flimsy hose fails faster because it not only has to flex a bit for the head angle like a shark, but flips about 180 degrees to switch from hose to floor head. And the hose costs a fortune.
How about an Nv752 hose
Just seems like a dumb design. Screwing one side in then having to unscrew it to screw in the other side. One removable end piece would allow the entire hose to be perfectly screwed into place. Wire grommet design annoying as well.
I was able to complete the hose replacement without taking about the vacuum as your video shows. Just opened the red hose cover, ripped out the old hose from both ends as the video instructs, and then screwed in the new hose. Just sayin'....
What model specifically was it you were working on? We will look in to this alternative.
I was able to replace the hose through the red hose cover as well. My model (NV501) has those funky proprietary screws that I wasn't able to loosen so was forced to use this method. It wasn't as easy as the video here seemed to be but with some patience and persistence, it went on.
