I found the hose on Amazon, and I didn't use any glue. I was able to replace it myself after the local vacuum repair shop declined, saying they couldn't get parts. I'm a 71 year old female with absolutely no prior experience that would pertain to vacuum repair, so this is really doable with this video to help. Getting it apart was the hardest part.

Successfully replaced the hose in my older Shark Rocket vacuum by following this video! I did have to use a wider diameter hose (but also have a different model number than quoted here - I think a 301). Also, noticed several commenters saying the hoses aren't glued in; the original hose on my vacuum was absolutely sealed in with glue/some other adhesive, making it a bit messy and difficult to remove. I just screwed the replacement hose in and didn't use an adhesive, but wanted to mention since so many people are saying there's no glue. Also, for other super amateurs like myself: if you're having trouble screwing the hose in or out: you're probably just turning it the wrong way. Try the "other", counterintuitive way. I spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to turn it the wrong way initially, before: success.

I also have a 301 model but I'm having a hard time finding the correct hose for my vacuum, the ones I found on Amazon said for models 300,302 and the bad reviews claim they don't fit the 301 model. Would you be so kind to tell me where you acquired your hose and also what size wrench did you use. Thank you.

Thank you so much for this video!! ...
I was about to throw out my year-old Shark HV301, and then someone told me about this video. I successfully installed a new hose thanks to you and brought my vacuum back to life. This floor nozzle problem is very common with these units and I'm aghast that Shark has not issued any product recalls. It's also not covered under their "limited" 5-year warranty. Their warranty should be renamed "non-existent" 5-year warranty. This is clearly an engineering and/or manufacturing defect on Shark's part and should be covered under warranty. Shame on Shark.

Just successfully changed my vacuum hose with this video! $9 hose from Amazon and TH-cam just saved me $230 and a trip to the store to get a new vacuum. I just vacuumed 24 hours ago and the new hose just pulled out about 1/2 a canister of debris. Frightening! How many hours have I wasted just spreading debris around the house with a broken hose? Thanks a bundle!

There are a few conditions that could cause a vacuum to be hard to push. First one would be if you got new carpeting. They’re also could be a problem with the rush roll not spinning properly or the brush roll can be worn away. Check your belt to make sure everything is working properly. If it’s not one of these simple fixes, I would call a vacuum service center near you to get some more advice. Or you are welcome to call us. Our store opens today at 8 AM central time.

    Great video,
I found that those hoses screw it's into each end adapter so when taking it off on the bottom turn turn the adapter to the right clockwise opposite of what you normally would and when you go to take the hose off the top you do the same thing , screw it to the right it unscrews from each adapter end. Before I order one of those houses I am going to measure this and see if I got something off an old vacuum or can find somewhere cheaper than what they sell them for . Thank you for the video

I tried this with a shark rocket HV380w (a newer model). Every screw is a security screw and the hose is glued on both sides. The hose on the motor side has a rubber collar bonded to the plastic which appears that shark has now made the motorized floor nozzle extremely difficult (near impossible) to repair even with a replacement hose bit. The glue, even with using acetone, is near impossible to remove. It appears they have changed the hose size several times between models and if your host diameter is off by 1-3 mm it won't thread. The cost of sending in the vacuum is approximately $20 if its under warranty. I ended up abandoning the project and unfortunately had to buy a replacement part from the manufacturer. If this happens to part that I ordered from shark, I will likely find another brand. Shark needs to support peoples right to repair by designing their products to have the hose (and other parts) to be replaced easier or they will need to design a more heavy duty hose section that does not break down.

Hi., I had to replace the hose as well... On my vac the hose ends were glued with what seems silicon. To remove the damaged hose, I simply cut the wire reinforcement and pulled it out. I did the same for both ends. After cleaning the connectors, I screwed the new hose onto the loose bottom connector, then into the top. When reassembling, adjust the bottom connector. I did not use glue, because honestly, it ain't going anywhere. Hope this helps...

    • @peterwahli8546

Hello Pavel, i did the same a year ago and it did hold pretty good. I have a new crack in that hose closer to one end of it, but plan to fix it the same way. I didn't use glue either; I thought that was unnecessary! One thing I did thou, I covered the crack with a bit of plastic wrap first and duct taped it then.
In regards to buying the hose, it doesn't seem to be the same size. They advertise 1 1/8" but when I measure the original one it is
1 1/2". So, for now I guess Duct Tape will do...haha!
