Trains at: Witham - GEML - 22/10/19 *Rush Hour*

Hello and welcome to this next 'Trains at' video. This one follows on from my previous video, from Motts Lane, and is from Witham located on the Great Eastern Mainline between Hatfield Peveral and Kelvedon.
After my brief visit to Motts Lane, just north of Witham station, I planned to do some spotting during the rush hour at the station. The GEML is a busy mainline but is even busier during peak hours with some services terminating at Witham. One of the those services is operated by a pair of Class 317's, which are rare to see on the great eastern, and thankfully they were running so it was nice to see them. There isn't much freight during the peak but I did see one, which was worked by a pair of Freightliner Class 86's. Overall, the views are very good here along with the frequency and the range of traction is good. The sun did however get in the way a few times.

Some really good views down the line from this station. Been through many times but never got off here. Wish I had done.
Nice to see the 86s still going on freight. Reminds me of when they used to work for intercity and later Anglia with the Mk2 sets. Scary to think that was over 15 years ago already!

I thought the Class 317s that time normally worked the West Angila services from London Liverpool Street and Stratford to Hertford East, Cambridge, Cambridge North, Bishops Stortford, King's Lynn and Stansted Airport when the Class 379s are unavailable like when the Class 379s are working the services to Hertford East

Despite this being filmed in October and the fact that the Class 720's have only just started some testing, some 321/360 carriages are already de-branded at this time.

720s were originally due in spring 2020 weren’t they? I’m guessing COVID made a big difference to that timeline.
