Thanks for this shows how it used to be but we are only talking about 19 years ago seems like only yesterday to me now in my 71st year please keep safe and well. Cheers Robert.
Thanks for watching Robert, feels like a long time for me! Either way I think as you do get older time seems to fly by more! Thanks for taking the time to watch, Tom.
I was in school at that time lol but I do remember First Great Eastern. Before it was renamed and rebranded to One Railway (National Express East Anglia) and today known as Greater Anglia.
Great video - messaged you on Instagram but just wondered if I could use some of this footage for 2 videos on my channel about FGE and Anglia? With credit of course!
Practices have changed for the better but still room for improvement going on the amount of incidents that seem to go on! Thanks for watching and commenting!
The liveries were definitely nicer back then. They all seem rather bland and cheap looking nowadays. Anglia livery suited the 86s well. I used to live near Crown Point where they were based and a badly regret not taking any photos of them before they went. Too late now I guess. You live and learn.
That was the year I started on the railway with FGE. Great footage.
@@judsonsimzer1463 When I started there was 1 Anglia Raikway’s Crown Point set still in Intercity, and FGE had 1 Class 312 in NSE livery.
What a fantastic vidio. Really enjoyed watching. Hope you have a great Thursday. Many thanks from Chris 👍
Thanks for watching Chris, Much appreciated!
Such great times Tom thanks for sharing your dads filming, will have to sort my old footage from this area.
Thanks Mike, I’ll keep an eye out.
Great footage on your dad's part. I think it's great that you would feature it on your channel. New subscriber from Canada. Greetings.
Thanks for the sub!
This is golden.

Awesome vid! This looks like it was filmed around the summer so I don't think I was born yet. Nice to see what the rolling stock was like back then.
Loved this vid
Thanks as always Kev.
Super video love the video coloring, has a feeling all it's own.👍👍
Thanks for watching Paul! I agree totally.
Great shots mate, like the Angila livery on those 86's. Cheers 👍👍
Yes it’s a very smart livery I think plus the horns are amazing.
Thanks for that. Very interesting.
Thanks Xfell, it has been nice to look back on all of the old footage.
Fantastic vid, really reminds me of the good old days on the GEML
Thanks very much for watching it really does bring back ‘ some great memories’
Excellent filming. Nice shot of 57001 pulling away with the twin plumes of exhaust. The Anglia livery: 🤔.
Thanks for watching Andrei, although the 57's are sort of rare machines and nice to have some footage of them in action.
very nice.
Thanks for Keith.
Cracking video that. Would love to see more Anglia/ONE vids if you have anymore!
Kind comments Barham, can’t say I do but I’ll keep an eye out!

It’s been through plenty of operators hasn’t it, I was 4 here and making noises in the video at that age 😂
Cool to see my local station from a time gone by. Believe I was 4 in that year.
Snap, makes you 23 now then? Like me?
@@MrThrash37 Oh cool 👌Yep 23

@MrThrash37 i used to have a Anglian Class 86 in OO gauge
Theyre a nice model to have!
Railworkers walkingin the four foot, no apparent lookout. A sign of those times ?. Not so different from the practices of recent times !
