Christmas Concertina Selection ( Alexander Prince - 1928 ) HMV101 Gramophone

The concertinist Alexander Prince was one of the first musicians to make recordings on the instrument making dozens of records on cylinders & discs during his career. He played the Maccann system duet concertina & is playing a selection of Christmas carols here on a Regal recording released in 1928 , the same year that he sadly passed away at the early age of fifty four years. The HMV 101 gramophone in the video also dates from 1928 .

The diaphragm ( membrane ) is made from mica .
