Icelandic for a Swede is fascinating - You understand a sentence perfectly, and then nothing of the next one... it's like Danish on steroids ;)

That is the one main thing I hear about Scandinavian countries.

@@alanguages yes, the costs of living are extremely high in Iceland. But also your salary is higher than it might be in other places :)

@@LittleE1998 Yikes! I won't be working, but my goal is to go there for one year and take the Practical Diploma Icelandic as a Second Language. International students aren't allowed to work, so I have to penny pinch to save up, before going to Iceland. I am presuming that is the same rule in Iceland.

Hrafna, thank you for the videos! I'm of German stock but an American, well a Texan through and through. If you ever find yourself in the United States, go to Texas, the culture is very different from the rest of the country. I'm from Central Texas, which is beautiful, but I recommend the Hill country or Piney Woods in East Texas. Just a word of advice, don't go in summer unless you are prepared to deal with temperatures reaching 45 degrees Celsius. Come in March - April when the bluebonnets are in bloom. You won't regret it! Oh, and you can go to Schlitterbahn, a famously gigantic Water Park. I know you love those! Stay sweet, young and beautiful, Ms. Hrafna.

Good evening Hrafna from Stuart in England. Somehow, one of your videos was on my recommended TH-cam list today and so I've watched several. Iceland is definitely on my list to visit, probably when I have time (& money) after retirement (you're a similar age to my son, so I have a fair few years to work yet). Although from England, I studied German at School and lived there too for a year. I've noticed, just in a couple of videos that your words for no, proud and 8 seem very similar to the German sounds. You get on very well with Sammi and it is great to have close friends. You're a very intelligent and delightful person so 'thank you' (your word for which sounds like the Swedish equivalent... I only know a minimum of Swedish). God bless. 🙏 🇬🇧 🇮🇸 X
