I've always been a bigger fan of Addy, Josefina, and Kirsten, moreso than Julie, but I'm not surprised that Julie got the Courtney/Nicki & Isabel treatment with her revamp. They're really hoping the 70s can make them that good, good 80s & 90s bank, and judging by the sales Julie has brought in over the years, I think she will. But I can't complain about the mini revamps that the other three gals got! I really hope we get at least another two outfits for each of them, similar to Kit and Molly's birthday re-releases. I agree that AG can totally balance truly me's, contemporary dolls, and the historical line. This could be a good sign that they may be trying to do so.
My delusional dream would be for them to reverse the remaining Beforever meet outfits and bring back Caroline, Marie-Grace, and Cecile, with capsule collections for all (at least 3 outfits). Heck, is it too much to ask for the best friends to come back too on at least a limited run basis? I don't even care if I have to buy a Nellie with time period inappropriate Swarovski crystals stuck to her dress, I'm here for it. 😂 Anyway, back to eBay I go...
The mental imagine of Nellie in Swarovski crystals made me laugh out loud!!! Feels so on brand for AG to do something like that.
There is an AG movie in the works, it's been confirmed! Supposedly these dolls are only a limited release. 😕 We've been begging Mattel to bring back the historicals, they finally do but only for a short-time. 😖
Im really hoping they do what theyve seemingly done with molly and kit and say they were limited first but keep them around for a long time. Also Molly is back ordered till fall so theres rummor that theyre bringing back more historicals in their original outfits and mollys getting a new box to match that. Also that theyre bringing back the old historicals back so that people can buy the historicals like people did barbies around the movie launch! That is total speculation and if its true itd be amazing but im not relying on it. Im still planning to buy the dolls as soon as I have the chance since theyve said theyre limited and I dont want to chance it.

The 35th Anniversary was in 2021. The new dolls have zip ties (hopefully can be shipped to Canada!), and the star foot stamp. Their clothes also have the plastic tags. The 35th Anniversary dolls had the neck cords and no foot stamp as they are new.
Julie’s new school skirt outfit has a vest with the granny square knit pattern. It may be used in crochet. My understanding is that it was created for knitting. Knitting also can be mass produced where crocheting can only be done by hand.
American Girl has also shared that the new re-created historical dolls (Addy, Josefina, and Kirsten) are limited edition versions. No word on the remaining Beforever versions of Addy and Josefina.
Was it really 2021? It feels like yesterday they released the 35th Anniversary dolls! Maybe I'm just getting old, LOL.

I'm so glad Addy is back! I love her, but she isn't in my collection yet. It is hard to find her for a good deal on ebay, maybe soon!
Im hoping these stick around a minute cause im gonna have to get them one doll at a time but I dont have any of them!! Im so so getting them! Beyond excited! Also excited about the julie outfits but waiting to buy them until I find the pre-beforever julie of my dreams
According to AG's replies to social media comments, they are a limited time collection, HOWEVER, people have pointed out that Molly and Kit's rerelease was suppose to be a limited time but they have been around for a while, but I agree, I hope they stick around for a while...

I wonder if they put them in the order of Kirsten, Josefina, and Addy because of the colours used for their names? Kirsten's blue, Josefina's red, and Addy's looks to be two shades of blues as well. While I'm excited that the historical characters are coming back, I'm disappointed that only their birthday outfits were re-released (though my wallet is happy). I also don't like that the new outfits have those little plastic tags. I don't mind them on the Truly Me outfits, but I feel like it cheapens the historical dolls. What was wrong with just the cloth tags?
I am really confused with the order, but maybe it is truly random and I am thinking about this wayyyyy too deeply. Maybe they will rerelease their holiday outfits in the fall? I guess time will only tell...
I was surprised by the Addy and Josefina release. I already have Addy, but I did purchase her birthday outfit. ❤ These dolls have a star on their foot and a zip tie. The Historical Characters are my favorite as well.
I was extremely surprised by Josefina's release, totally wasn't expecting that!
The floral jumper is a rerelease but now it comes with shoes. The original did not. The record player is a rerelease as well. The old one was a blue record player and played songs from 70’s artists. The new one plays 70’s inspired songs.
Interesting that they changed the songs. I feel like it is really reflective of American Girl's change in approach in general, going from more historical, realistic items to more of a retro inspired style. Very interesting, thanks for sharing!
I was at AGLA this weekend and I found out why the price of the new outfits is higher than typical TM outfit w/ shoe sets, they also come with a reprint of the original Pleasant Company birthday book!! 😃
I remember the floral Julie outfit as well. I want Kirsten to come back for $115 but I might have to cave and get the $150 one
At least she comes with her accessories! but still, 150 is a little steep.
@@justdreamstudios Yeah. Honestly I was a little slow in realizing they come with their accessories and normally historical accessories are expensive so the price makes a little more sense to me. Idk why it took me a while to realize that😂
