The way I do the cheap ramen: I add extra bouillon Powder with herbs. (Chicken) and then I add a small amount of butter, some hot sauce, 1/2 or less of 2% American cheese sliced so it melts better and I fry the egg a bit with pepper before adding it on top of the ramen. It’s soooo good!!! It’s about 500-550 calories I’m guessing and it’s creamy, flavorful and so yummy on cold days! Plus you get the protein from the egg.
I add gochugang, carrots, bok choy, kimchi, cheese, and sometimes rice cakes or an egg. I swear gochugang makes any cheap ramen taste more authentic lol.

Samyang' least spiciest ones are pink (carbo and creamy carbo) the spiciest is the 3x limited packs. The green ones are black bean noodles which could be a bit difficult for foreigners especially westerners to eat because it has bitter tones but it's rlly good. Hope this helped (the spicy sauce is the actual flavoring so please don't waste it lol try to save it for ramen packs that you don't like the flavors of but you like the texture of the noodles, or if you can, buy plain noodles)
I totally miss eating ramen, but after I messed up my stomach two years ago, I really can't eat anything spicy anymore unless I want my acidity to spike and have an upset stomach for the next 6 hours 😭

I add a little soy sauce and chili sauce (I use gochujang, but I think any will work) to my tiny Maruchan noodles with a melty slice of the plastic wrapped hamburger american cheese on top, sometimes with an egg, mostly without though. Total game changer from just the sauce packet broth and plain noodles.
It depends if the country you live in is official stockist of these noodle brands or not. 😔 I’m from South Africa, was a bit pricey in comparison to two minute noodles from our grocery stores, but it was because of import taxes and profit margins because it was not officially being stocked here. Some brands have now partnered with big grocery stores here and they’re now the same prices as the noodles we grew up on. 🙏🏻

Shin Ramen and Shin Ramen black are my favourites. I'll also go into an Asian market where I live and buy random ramen with no English to be found on the packaging and I've been bowled over by some of the most delicious noodles I've tasted. I plan on eating authentic ramen if I make it to Japan this Christmas; that's the plan now, but I need medical clearance first because I've got some health issues that might prolong the trip until next year. You can eat ramen noodles any way you like Sierra. I often add an egg to mine, either half boiled with a delicious jammy center, a fried egg with lots of Irish lace on the sides or add a raw egg when it's cooked. I often add chili crisp oil, sometimes I cook it with a lump of rock sugar because I find it helps the taste when eating Shin Ramen black. I always top it off with toasted sesame seeds and green onions and sometimes add a cheese slice on top. I eat mine from a large bowl with a handle on it so I'm not burning my hands, something I've done too many times. If you have leftover rice, add it to any broth that may be left over; yummy goodness.

I’m half Korean and I’ve been eating shin ramyun ever since I was little! And still to this day, both me and my sister still call them “spicy noodles”. No other spicy noodle is this one, when we say spicy noodles we know exactly what kind of ramen we’re talking about😭😂
If u want some more veggies in there or just more variety of ingredients, you can add tofu or any meat of your choosing. For veggies I recommend those funny looking skinny mushrooms that come in a cluster, carrots or just anything that can soak up broth. And for the egg, you can cook it separately and put to on top of the ramen then mix it around. Sincerely, a Japanese person
I remember too 😅. As a toddler and small child in the 90's, I loved maruchan and Smack noodles. I liked smack more because the noodles were thinner and it seemed like you got more noodles 😊.
