I'm a first-year container grower and I used your guys' general blueprint to make my grow tables. That was a huge help in guiding me to grow really small vegetables. LOL I'm getting better at it, but I appreciate your path in life. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and may God keep blessing you both.
I'd love to see more canning videos with your recipes and even learn your culture. I like to learn other cultures and growing methods. So many people have a lot to learn from others. We all need to bring our experiences together.
I am so grateful to stumble upon you two. What a blessing you two are to me. I've learned so much! And I look forward to giving from my backyard gardening to my church and community! Blessings!!
Soaking hands in baking soda and vinegar makes sense! Thanks for sharing that tip with us. Jarring and canning is so beautiful to look at while preserving your harvest.
Wow, I didn't know that wild grape leaves can be used to keep peppers crunchy! "Don't tear gas the family" 😂🤣 Sorry about your hands! That happened right through your gloves, didn't it! Pepper heat is no joke! The airlock fermenting lids really are something! I've never seen one used before - thank you for demonstrating! The Chinese jar is fascinating to me! Thanks for all this Nancy! Have a wonderful weekend!
I learned a trick in Mexico the heat is almost exclusively from the veins and seeds of the pepper. You can just remove the seeds and the area holding the seeds and you will get all the flavor but no heat. I then just add back the seeds and veins until I get the heat I want.
I'm so glad I found you again! Had to get new tablet and II got y'all on Facebook, I just thought you weren't making videos anymore. I'll be catching up! Beautiful peppers! ❤❤🙏🏼🙏🏼xxoo
I've never tried any fermented peppers, but yours Nancy makes them look so good. 😋I might have to give them a try this year. Another great video and detailed instructions. Thanks, and God bless.
There's varieties called "nadapeno" and "habenada" that are hybrids of jalapenos and habaneros that have no spice. I am personally growing the nadapenos from Baker Creek this year and they are living up to the promise of no spice. Just throwing that out there in case it's useful. The plants are prolific highly recommend. Happy gardening 😊
Great video Nancy & Hollis! When working with very hot peppers one may want to use double gloves as the oils will find a way thru a single glove, whether it is thru the pores in the material or pinholes. Hot hands are not fun. Yes, two things not to dehydrate in the house, hot peppers or onions.
I also dehydrate our cowhorn, cayenne and jalapeno peppers and grind up for a sprinkle for dishes without the actual peppers. That cow horn is excellent in pork dishes
Boy, you're so right to wear gloves to pick and process. I didn't and my hands burned for 2 days, from orange habaneros. I tried the baking soda soak that didn't work, so am glad you found that adding vinegar to the mix stopped the burn. Amazing that your hands were burned despite wearing gloves. I dehydrated mine and powdered them--so easy to add to make hot your dish.
Hey brother, looking for the video where you showed your planting notebook with seed info Etc. Please help. I've seen many of your videos and I can't remember which one I saw it in. Thank you
That pepper burn is no joke! I wish I'd have known the baking soda vinegar trick when my poor hands burned for two days, I had a tear in each glove that I didn't realize until way too late 🤣
I’m not a hot pepper girl, but the jar of different peppers looks beautiful. Good lessons too! I’m curious what Bing Bing stands for if anything in particular? ~ Texas
This couldn’t be more timely. We are planting different peppers this yr for the first time. And is it true that the warmer the weather the hotter the pepper?
Hollis I wanted to share with you my method for mixing you soil recipe. I use a concrete mixer from Lowes. I have a terrible back, I have had 3 surgeries and two pelvic surgeries. So I said if you can mix concrete why not dirt. I have a system I would be happy to share with you.. thanks for all you and Nancy do for us beginners. I would love to share a picture of our garden where could I do that? God bless you both.
Oh heavens, I remember in Queensland Australia, coming across a bush of bell shaped capsicums.......... sooo excited to use it in my salad for dinner that night. YEP I found out it was NOT a capsicum at all but a chilli!!
I am growing potatoes in 5 gallon buckets, my question is this: after the plants break the surface of the six inches of dirt and before they get above the top of the bucket, how often do you water them? Daily (in 90 degree weather) or weekly? Also, after the last dirt is added, do you fertilize them? If so, how often?
Growing in 5 pots/buckets is my favorite way for peppers as well. Do you have a favorite jalapeño variety? Love this video, getting excited for summer pepper harvest.
Off the topic of peppers I have a question on onions. If my yellow onions are starting to flower should I cut the flower off? Will that help or hurt the onion?

As always, such a beautiful glass of pepper it looks like it should be in a magazine. You are right about the health of the hot peppers.

Beautiful video. I loved it.
I also dehydrate our cowhorn, cayenne and jalapeno peppers and grind up for a sprinkle for dishes without the actual peppers. That cow horn is excellent in pork dishes
I want to try all these, thanks for sharing.
Wonderful video Nancy. I have so many peppers. Now I know what to do with them
Great video Nancy..the music was lovely, but man I started nodding out....good sleep music! :-)

Yes He is.❤
Do only wild grape leaves have the tannins or any grape variety? I was blessed by your quiet, simple, beautiful video. I really needed it today!
I listed other things that has tannin in it.
Good advice on handling 🤣 very nice , im going to give it a try this year❤
This couldn’t be more timely. We are planting different peppers this yr for the first time.
And is it true that the warmer the weather the hotter the pepper?
It depends on pepper type to me
bing bing was not moving out of the vehicle , hes gotten way too lazy , lolol !!!!

Habaneros are the best pepper plants. They are so prolific
Praise God for his bounty!

Love this video. What kind of jalapeños do you grow to get them so big. I would like some but mine are not nearly that back and that is my goal
Growing in 5 pots/buckets is my favorite way for peppers as well. Do you have a favorite jalapeño variety? Love this video, getting excited for summer pepper harvest.
No I just like the standard but I like it better when it turns red.
Nice
Blessings
Off the topic of peppers I have a question on onions. If my yellow onions are starting to flower should I cut the flower off? Will that help or hurt the onion?
I could only dream of so many peppers. I can't believe how many on one plant! Must be our cold climate in zone 4 or I'm a terrible gardener
I am not getting notifications as I should. What do I need to do. Enjoyed the video.

Afternoon y’all
Such a great fan. Thank you Blessing
@@HollisNancysHomestead Blessings!
Nancy, once the peppers are dried can the seeds still be used for planting purposes?
From what I understand no.
Just wondering, do you have a video on canning white or red potatoes? Thanks 💫
This is the site I use and Ball complete canning book nchfp.uga.edu/how/can_04/potato_white.html
Let me ask do ya OVER WINTER some of them plants ??
I have a few I over winter and I get great production…I have a 3 year old banana pepper that is always Abundant 🌶️ 🫑 ..bells as well
No, we try to fish and rest during the winter, but some of our friends do overwinter their peppers. Enjoy
❤
How do you use the dehydrated peppers?
You can add it to soup and recipe. Also you can make a spice rub for
Meat
i have question about FERTILIZING my pot how many times need to be done
He only did it 1 time during growth
@@HollisNancysHomestead Thank You
Do you have a source for the red Hab?
I just found them Ace Hardware
Love you guys, but I enjoy listening to Hollis. The music is like something from a funeral. Terrible had to mute it.hated it. Love you two thank you
Those are pretty peppers but the tv screen is about as close as I want to get to habenero peppers!
L😂😂😂
Pam says- Mrs Nancy, which of the peppers have leaves that are edible or medicinal? Can you stir fry any? 😎
My peppers were eaten by deer last year. Cayenne and jalapeno. I hope it burnt all the way through and out.
😂😂
I like peppers but the heat tears me up.
But what kind of peppers??
I use 6 of my favorites and describe them in the video
