Thanks I'm looking forward to getting back down that way and scouting for some crays I was a bit jaded that day so didn't push myself too hard.

If you haven't already got one, I've found those plastic mpi knives are actually the best measure tool, they're just easy to use. And if you like to use the metal knife for uplifting the paua, you can still use the plastic one just as the measure. I sometimes do this, I have a metal Timalu paua knife. But those slot style measures you're using in this video honestly are just awkward to use.
Another tip is to replace that rope you're using with elastic cord, for connecting around your wrist. You can get elastic cord from boating shops and also haberdashery shops.

Thanks I've been into Mpi and got a couple of their knives I'm yet to test one out. Cheers for the tip I need to sort something I'm considering attaching and dropping a dive weight to anchor it so I don't get tangled in the floatline

Perhaps you were unaware, but those undersized paua that you returned, are now dead...If the skin is cut, they bleed out. As said below, get a plastic knife - for free at MPI - the lovely Sharon will even send it to you - mine arrived the following morning. Happy diving!

As stated in a previous comment I've been into M.P.I and picked up a couple of plastic knives. Most likely my first and last dive at this exact location it's obviously under alot pressure Cheers.

Is the sewerage outfall still going at ocean beach

No idea this was my first dive in Bluff as I'm from Dunedin. I generally try to avoid sewerage outfalls, I might do some research before diving Bluff again Cheers.
