Great video. I was trying to load my Zorki S, for the first time, and your video really helped. My 19 year old son got me back into film photography. I think it's great that you young people are helping to save and revive such a great medium. Keep the videos coming, and thank you. And I agree with SHA, it is a beautiful camera.
I am glad to hear that you are back into film and that my video helped you out! I’ve collected more cameras and I plan on sharing more videos as soon as I can : ) thank you for your kind words I appreciate them!
Some day I will post my first video ever and in it I will show how to loas this camera. My method that I learned in Russia when I bought my Zorki has for me been super reliable, and works completly without cutting anything, and works with 36 exp rolls too. I put shutter setting at bulb (Z) and hold down shutter button without releasing. Whilst holding, I move lever to "B" position and after that I release shutter button, this way shutter curtains remain open. Then I open bottom, take out spool, and once again without any cuts, I attach film to spool and give maybe half a turn on spool so film is attached. Then I drop down filmroll + spool to the end without too much force. Then, i look trough the still open shutter, and with my fingers adjust so that the film sits aligned properly in its track. After moving it and making sure it sits good, I make sure both spool and roll sitt tight by pushing them a little. Then, bottom lid on, and then I move lever from "B" back to normal. Shuttet closes. And from here it is just wind wind wind until 1st frame and boom, start making photos :)
did the camera come with that leatherette, or did you replace it/get it replaced somewhere? I have one that's peeling just slightly, so I was kind of Wondering where to get that done when the time comes
Hello, once ypu are sure the lead is past and you are on 0, you can focus, aim and shoot your frame and then forward the film to "1". It's all ready to shoot now!
Hello! I wouldn’t recommend this one for beginners as it can be a little tricky. Do you know what format you want to shoot? Nothing wrong with testing your luck with a camera from an antique store, but for 135 (popularly called 35mm) I recommend starting with an inexpensive point-and-shoot, or the Canon EOS Rebel G, Minolta XG-1, or an Olympus P.A.S. Don’t feel pressured to get the most expensive thing, but if that’s what you want then go for it! Check out Reformed Film lab, Retro Photo Reading or ProCamera they have some good camera selections!
@@Penukie I have already several Srl cameras that I love. I'm intrigued by rangefinder cameras and i thought that the Zorki 1 could be an interesting one. However I have read conflitting opinions and I was curious to know the point of view of those who own it :)
@@filippoduci7956 I say if you can find one go for it, don’t pay more than 100 for it. I love my Zorki, it’s so unique and has taught me a little bit. It can be hit or miss when it comes to finding one online, but it’s absolutely worth it for the hit. This was my first rangefinder and first 135 format! The clarity on some of the photos make the frustration worth it.
I've got two Zorki 1 and two Zorki 4k. The zorki 4k are much more common on eBay and probably easier to use than the zorki 1. I like the zorki 1 because it's a cheap alternative to the Leica and with its retractable lens fits in the pocket easily for street photography. Zorki 4k are cheaper too.

Beautiful camera!
Thank you!

There's something wrong with your lens. The distance scale (that left on a lens mount) is a part of the lens and it shoudn't be unscrew in parts.
Your right
Might need to buy a new lens

It came with it! I haven't found a place to do replacements, yet, but thay could be done with an extensive internet search. Might have to di a DIY.
please keep making new videos
I had got a creativity block but now I have a couple ideas I want to do! Thank
You for your comment 😌

Love that dog

Remember the zorki takes a m39 or L39 lens mount...so look for a lens with that type mount
hello, after first shot at "0"..what is next step for second shot?..
