  • Looking for things to do in Portland? Put Pittock Mansion on your list! A huge historic estate that was built in the early 1900s was saved by the citizens of Portland from development and is now a historic museum.
This visit was definitely one of the highlights of our visit!

I thought you bought a new place 😀. It would be crazy to actually live in a place like this. 7 bathrooms is pretty impressive. When I think of a mansion, this is what I think of, especially with those stairs. A museum is so much better than a new sub division. Thanks for sharing the lifestyle of the rich and famous.

What an incredible mansion! Love that the original interior has been largely retained - helps imagine what life would have been like. Never watched Downtown Abbey but the mansion seems similar to the mansion in Peaky Blinders which was set in 1920 - 1930s.

We loved Downton Abbey! Such a good show. And I was thinking about that show as you toured the mansion before you even mentioned it. The Pittock Mansion definitely gave off some Downton vibes. We love touring historic homes like this. So interesting to see what life used to be like for the well off in times past. It is great that people stepped up to make sure this place wasn't demolished to build a subdivision. Thanks for sharing this lovely tour with us!

Historic homes are some of my favorite places to visit! It's a shame the Pittocks that built this lovely property only were able to enjoy it for 4 years! I'm so glad they turned it into a museum!
      Thanks for checking it out!
